My husband and I dined at this restaurant last month for the first time and loved it so I suggested it for a cousin's dinner last night. Divino is a family restaurant. Chef Gabriel's food is creative and delicious. His brother-in-law Jose, I believe, is the one behind the great cocktail list and making housemade aperitifs. The four of us shared two appetizers. The tuna tartare - chopped tuna on top of creamy avocado surrounded by crispy capers and quail yolk. It was served with homemade potato and vegetable chips. We also shared the goat cheese - creamy melted goat cheese sitting in a pool of tasty marinara. This was served with grilled baguette pieces. This appetizer could use more of the baguette as we ran out of bread and still had goat cheese left to enjoy. For dinner, my sister had the gnocchi with braised beef, short rib, spinach and mushrooms. I know this dish was delicious because this is what my husband ordered the first time we dined here. My two cousins had the chicken limone and said it was very good. (I have my eye on this for next time ). I opted for the branzino which was moist and served in a delicious lemon caper sauce. I would like to see a traditional pasta with marinara sauce on the menu. I think that would be a great addition for clientele who are into the traditional instead of the creative and unique. There was no room for dessert, but shots of limoncello came to the table. So sweet of Divino. Let me tell you the limoncello was amazing. Luckily, I was able to buy a bottle of this housemade limoncello. Since the four of us were raving about the limoncello, right before we walked out the door Divino gave us a tasting of the housemade pistachio cream. Omg! So smooth, creamy and divine. Di Vino is an absolute hidden gem. The non-descript facade fools you, but once you step inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The food is excellent, and the service is great. My daughter even noticed that every single staff member wore a genuine smile. We celebrated two birthdays, and they went above and beyond by bringing out personalized plates with cake and candle for both birthday guests at the end of our meal. We ordered Crispy Octopus and Ceviche to start. Followed by Branzino Alla Aurora, Short Ribs, and Fettuccini Alfredo. All had lovely presentations and each cooked to perfection. We had a taste of each other's plate and we all agreed each dish had outstanding flavors. Simply delicious! The food exceeded all expectations. I can go on and on. Highly recommend! I was having a tough day but wanted a decent Italian meal. I am so happy that I found DiVino's because it was exactly what I wanted. I was welcomed from the very beginning. The food and drinks were excellent, a nice blend of latin/Spanish and Italian. Everything was well presented. The tropical mezcal cocktail was a great cocktail that is perfect for summer - moderately sweet and citrusy with the Smoky essence. The crispy octopus was unique and flavorful. My entrée was the house gnocchi. The gnocchi is made with beef short rib. Honestly, the best gnocchi that I have ever had. I paired it with a Primitivo, which was amazing by itself but was slightly too sweet for the gnocchi. I wound up getting a key lime cheesecake. It was a beautiful slice. The service was impressive. The place looks upscale but I was made to feel comfortable despite being casually dressed. Everyone treated me with kindness and and respect. They earned return visits. read more

This restaurant needs to be discovered! From the inside, it might look like a biker's bar with graffiti signage but once inside (see pictures) you will be transported to a cozy, romantic, and classy space where the cuisine tastes and looks like, but doesn't cost high end. My wife and I have consistently had amazing experiences from all angles: ambience, cuisine, and service. Staff are attentive, friendly, and don't take themselves too seriously. Fabulous meal, service and drinks! It is tucked away on Harlem but you definitely need to go for dinner. Our appetizer scallops will be on my best bites of 2026 list and it's only April. I had a spicy sausage pasta with peas, the only downside of the entire meal was the undercooked peas. It was still a great dish. My partner had a ribeye that was cooked perfectly. Went there for first time tonight. Parking: has own lot with plentiful parking but apparently you cannot enter from busy Harlem Ave but need to work your way around to alley behind it, then it's easy. Some fun specialty cocktails along with a full bar. I had the "Pheonix" ($14): Vodka, raspberry & passion fruit purée, fresh lime juice, simple syrup. It was served in a Tiki kind of barware looking like a Polynesian fertility god, with a tropical flower perched on top. Three of our group had that night's Soup of the Day as an appetizer. Tonight it was chicken tortilla. The menu only listed one size but they were flexibly accommodating to give some of us cups and others larger bowls. It was on the hotter, spicier side which I normally don't like but it was right on the border of my comfort zone - I ate it all with enjoyment. They had some interesting specials not listed on the menu. But I ordered something on the regular menu: the "Branzino Alla Aurora" ($34): sea bass, seasonal veggies, lemon caper, grape tomatoes, & butter sauce. The fish was cooked perfectly with great seasoning and the sides of potatoes and veggies exceeded expectations: oven-roasted potatoes, carrots, asparagus, other root vegetables. With the meal I enjoyed a reasonably priced glass of Albariño, Ethereo, Rías Baixas, Spain 2023 ($11). We passed on dessert or after-dinner beverages. Service was friendly and efficient. A pleasant, almost semi-formal ambience. A beautiful mural on one wall. read more

This place is a beautiful addition to the area. The decor is lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything we ate was delicious. The phoenix drink was pretty and yummy. I loved my filet with an amazing gravy and mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband loved his pork chop and it came with an abundance of delicious roasted potatoes and vegetables. On the outset. I want to be clear that this is an honest review. I do not work for this restaurant nor am I friends with anyone who works there. This is an honest review based on my experience and on the quality of the food. My friend found this restaurant, based on geography. It was mid-way between our homes and we both enjoy a good Italian meal. Until this dinner - she and I shared the best Italian meal of my life a couple years ago in Canada (of all places). I had no idea that Di'Vino would be the first who could challenge that assignation. In the recent past, this place was a quiet, local gin mill. Years ago - I was known to visit as I made my rounds in the neighborhood. It wasn't anything special, it was just a good old local joint to watch a ball game and have a beer or two. Walking in now - the décor has changed considerably, but the vibe was still relaxed and local. It would be called upscale-local if that was a category in Michelin guides. Modern - dimly lit - slick but still welcoming. We were greeted by gentlemen who understand they have something special. They were professional and attentive, but they didn't hover and they didn't rush us. They did bring out little warm bread balls with a garlic butter that forecasted a great meal was in our immediate future. We started with the crispy calamari. This was - easily - the freshest and most perfectly prepared calamari. It was delicate and perfectly seasoned. It didn't have the typical chewy, fishy flavor and texture of calamari that Midwesterners have become accustomed to. Easily a 10 out of 10. Next, we got a arugula salad. Again - the freshness was the main ingredient. It was a simple salad, but it tasted like everything came out of the garden right when we ordered it. A complex dressing enhanced the taste of the veggies and cheese in the salad. We got two entrees which we split. We got the Chicken Al Limone and the Rigatoni Alla Buttera. I can say - without compunction - these were the best entrees I have had in 2025 and possibly the best Italian food on the 21st century (at least since Canada). The chicken was moist and perfectly prepared. The limone sauce elevated the chicken that was thoughtfully spiced and served with a collection of asparagus and other long skinny vegetables. No one expected this level of quality in this little unassuming place, but we were pleasantly surprised. The other order was the Rigatoni Alla Buttera. The pasta was al dente, which can be an issue with these robust rigatoni noodles. The sauce/gravy had the perfect amount of kick. My friend does not like too spicy. I like really spicy. This landed right in the middle on the heat range. The freshness of everything from the meat to the sauce made this the best pasta dish I think I have ever had. My friend had her customary decaf cappuccino, but I had a split order of gelato. The order was half chocolate and half goat cheese. I had never heard of goat cheese gelato so I had to try it. I was not disappointed. The flavor was subtle. The goat cheese gelato had such a unique texture. I couldn't get enough. I want to be clear that the service was efficient and professional. As I said - they didn't hover - but they seemed to know when they were needed and they were tableside to take care of us. They never rushed us. If you're looking for an amazing Italian neal which features freshness on the menu, this is the place. Superb food in a relaxing atmosphere with great service. This is a review when we visited in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. My wife and I sat at the bar and had wonderful food. The crabcakes are not at the level of Fords or Hugo's but they were very delicious.. The charcuterie board was wonderful. Very good selections at the bar and imaginative of cocktails. Staff was attentive and friendly. The head chef came out with some rolls that were fresh out of the oven and gladly gave some to the patrons. Absolutely delicious. Went for a late dinner on New Year's Eve. Food was delicious. The place was very busy and because of that the service was a bit slow at times. We asked for bread for our soup and never got it, not a big deal. The prix fixe courses came out in steady succession. We were sat in the back room so it was a bit more intimate and quieter there. I imagine in you sit in the main restaurant area it might be more boisterous. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend to friends. I debated giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the service was a bit slow at the beginning, we didn't get the bread, and they were slow to refill our waters. But since it was packed and a holiday, it's totally reasonable for things to take more time. read more

Had a phenomenal first visit to Divino! The food was excellent! The service was phenomenal, and the ambiance is amazing! We started with the seafood bisque soup of the day which was so delish! For our appetizer we have the crispy calamari with spicy arriabiatta sauce and it was super! My mom had a house salad with vinaigrette and it was so fresh and beautifully plated! For our mains, my mom had the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken which I tasted and it was so good! I had the prime Long Island steak with Demi glace, king oyster mushrooms, with mashed potatoes and asparagus with crispy prosciutto! This was OUTSTANDING! My steak was cooked perfectly and the presentation was delightful! The steak was $42 which I didn't think was bad for the steak entree, the size of the steak and what it included. My husband's chicken luminescence was incredible and so tender you could cut it with a fork. Served with small whole multi-colored carrots and thin sliced potatoes. I had fettuccine Alfredo with a variety of great vegetables: mushrooms, asparagus, snap peas and more. They were nice to substitute the chicken and shrimp with these wonderful vegetables. When you first enter, you will notice the absolutely gorgeous bar and to your left is the spotless open kitchen. Seating in the main dining area is close, but for some reason still seemed private. We could not hear the conversations at other tables and it didn't feel cramped. The staff was phenomenal. The owner, Jose is very friendly and a delight to talk with. The food? The food was exceptional. I had the Pistachio crusted Salmon with Risotto and my friend had the Cod alla Puttanesca and we could not have been more pleased! And let's not forget the fantastic homemade bread and spicy butter! Jose said they may open for weekend brunch in February and I can't wait! This restaurant is a gem! Beautiful spot. Drinks need a little work and the steak is far from quality meat. Kitchen staff might be new to the game, indicator being the different temps the food came out. Almost felt as if was reheated. I feel like they'll turn it around and make it a go to spot for locals, but for now, I'd stick to the appetizer menu and a couple of beers.
