Trash place of a store. I drove 30 mins out here and dropped off 2 tubs and a garbage bag of name brand clothes including Nike, Under Armour, Victoria Secret, Vineyard Vines, Carhartt and come back next day and they didn't take a single item; claiming that the clothing is all out of season (they are not) and that nothing worked out. So we are leaving with every single item we came with. This place sucks to sell to. don't think they even opened the tubs or looked through anything. read more

I dropped off a bag around 5pm and told them I won't be able to pick up the rejects until the next day; I also called right before closing and told them my friend will pick up the bag of rejects and the cash from what they do take before closing, since they give a 24 hour grace period. It turns out, the manager sorted the clothes this morning, put the three items they took as store credit (not cash as I said) and donated the rest of my clothes despite there being a note on the bin That it would be picked up. lazy, unprofessional, don't listen... read more

This place is a joke. Dropped off plenty of very nice items including victoria secret, Jessica Simpson, beautiful tops, buckle pants/jeans, ... and was told it wasn't what they were looking for and too much wear and tear. So one tiny scuff mark on a jessica Simpson heel is worn and torn. But the Nike shoes in the back that had black marks on them are good? Or the nasty ALDO heels I saw Up front that had stain marks on them too. I just told them to dontate them afterwards. I will be going back next week to see if my items are for sale just for the heck of it. This place is such a scam. Out for 4 bags, Not one item was worthy? We go here quite a bit selection is decent. I just have one thing I want to say. DO THE FEMALES WORKING HERE KNOW WHAT A BRA IS? I walk in with my wife to shop or drop off clothes and all I see is nipples on everyone I would think in a more professional place they would at least try and dress the part. Maybe management should have a talk with some of their employees about some type of dress code. read more

It's a shame that I have to agree with most of the current reviews as far as customer service. Not sure if it only applies to this location, but the snot-noses they employ have zero sense of positive attitude. They do however keep things very neat and organized, so I would be a hypocrite if I didn't give them credit for that. The rudeness doesn't apply to all of them. A few reps have been really nice and attentive. If you are ever in the market to consign your threads, keep in mind that Plato's closet is all about the teen mall brands -- but not all. A general list of acceptable brands are A&F, VS PINK, AE, Hollister, Forever21 collections, Charlotte Russe, 'some' Express and 'some' H&M brands. Target brands for juniors are also accepted. Be warned that they may not want your J. Crew, Eddie Bauer and GAP unless it's targeted to teen fashions. And I also have to say that they will not want your Ecko Red or Sean Jean, even if they are new with tags. It's not their demographic and we shouldn't get mad at them for having one. I am not sure what they look for in shoes, but I've seen some in really gross condition on sale here. Not even name brand ones! So I think it also depends on the season and what they are in need of. They may not always want your boot cut jeans if their rack is over stuffed. So do not get discouraged, just go to the next shop! If they rather give you $5 for your Forever21 top but skip on that silk blouse? Consider it a score. You can sell it on your own or take it to another consignment shop that will sell it FOR YOU! read more

Their clothes aren't even that cheap, lol im broke tho so might just be me. If you're thinking about selling clothes here, your better off selling them individually yourself, i got $50 for 18 items (about $2.70 per item) and i had given them many items from name brands such as PINK, Victoria's secret, Nike, Adidas, Forever 21, etc. I could have made $10-20 per item had i just sold it on facebook or something lol. Not a good place for that. But they sometimes do have good clothes if you plan on going there to shop, i usually find it to be a hit or miss. Staff is incredibly rude and accusatory. Had a security tag on one of my husband's shirts (that was given to him by his mother) that I did not notice or know was there. Obviously would not have brought it in if I had known that was the case. I was accused of being a thief and told that I was blacklisted from all locations for 48 hours. This was after my WHOLE name was yelled across the store for me to come to the counter to be yelled at. Someone I knew professionally was in the store and heard my name and me being accused of being a thief. I have never been treated so poorly in a store that I used to frequent. Will not be returning to this location again, as I know they are independently owned. Hoping to have better luck at a different location (obviously without the unfortunate tag). read more

Awful. I brought all name brand clothing barley worn and some were brand new and they took only 1 item. If you are looking to sell clothes that are in great condition, I wouldn't even bother going to Plato's Closet. Waste of my time! read more

Worst place I have ever been in my life. It was my first time going there and the lady was rude and mean to me for not knowing I could only bring about one big bag (with about 60 items in it). She looked through them and said she found 7 items she guessed so could take even though they were a little out of style. And offered me $13. Keep in mind all my clothes were in perfect condition, name brand, and new within the year. Worse service I have ever gotten. Also my clothes were all nicely folded and got them back thrown in there. This place robs you blind. You are better off selling your stuff online. A friend just took a bag full of new stuff with tags on it with name brand items in (Calvin Klein, MK shoes) and only got $24 for it. I told her she should call the cops because she just got robbed. read more

Honestly their customer service is not that bad, like people on here say. I walked in, they welcomed me to the store and were friendly enough. They're super organized and I found a lot of things that I liked. I got like 6 things for about $40 read more

Store is alright. Sales associates are beyond rude. I have never seen such horrible service. After I saw my bag was ready to check out I waited at the counter for almost ten minutes for a sales associate to even acknowledge me...the sales associate was just standing there less than 2 feet from me! When she finally said something to me all she said was..."Do you need something?" I was so taken back by the RUDENESS of her. When she checked me out she did not even explain anything to me she just said, "We are giving you $22 for five of your items." RUDE! read more

Reviews are made to be helpful so maybe someone with business ethnics and intelligence will read what consumers observe. Do not waste your time at Plato's closet. Why? Looking through the store there were many $10 used t-shirts with pills and stains. There were brand new items that had price tags from the retailer on clearance and Plato's upcharged the price. There were falling apart fake bags. Most of the store had clothes that were a few years old in terms of style, but yet they say they only accept the newest clothing. The only brands seen are ones you get at Walmart, Kohl's, JCPenny, Target, some Aeropostal, and some American Eagle. Their prices are more expensive then if you buy these items for new at original store. The items they do have I have seen on the rack since they first opened. Many items do have stains, small holes, broken zippers, frayed bottoms on jeans, pilling sweaters, lace shirts with rips, color faided old polo's, missing buttons, satin dresses with oil stains. Look over everything very carefully in good lighting. Another tip to teenagers, it's understandable that you don't have a lot of money. Compare and shop first. Goodwill can have better fashion, more selection, costs less, they have weekly deals and it's better organized. Go to the original store and look on clearance racks. Check out ebay. Plato's will rip you off, no it's not fair, but don't play into the stupidity. read more

I agree with Christina. I walked in trying to sell 32 items. I knew they weren't going to take it all but I assumed they were going to take a couple things. NOPE. They took nothing. The staff was beyond snotty and rude. The one girl always gave me attitude when I tried to ask a question and tried to get a fitting room. Look, I'm 18 and I work in retail too. So I understand not all days are going to be great. But I am NEVER rude to a customer who has done nothing to me. Because that would mean losing a valuable customer. And that's what platos closet did. I'm never shopping or selling at the victor location again. If anything, I recommend taking a short drive out to the west side to Uptown Cheapskate. They're friendly, have a good selection and are reasonable with your clothes you're trying to sell. read more
