My first time calling I had a good experience setting up my inspection. Westin was very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The technician sent out, Luke, communicated throughout the process of my inspection. He's quite detailed, thorough and also knowledgeable in this subject matter and I appreciated the fact that he took his time throughout the process. Do not use this company! I just bought a house in Chelsea, MI, and found a bat hanging from the ceiling. Of course I was upset. I tried to find someone to come get rid of the bat, but no one could come, since it was a Sunday. I kept calling different bat companies, but somehow always ended up back with Platinum Wildlife Removal. The woman on the phone assured me that if I didn't set up an appointment then, I most likely wouldn't get one. I paid $99 to have Platinum come and do an inspection the next day. The first thing the man did was head straight to the fireplace and pronounce it an extreme fire hazard due to creosote. He purposely set up an atmosphere of fear and threat so he could play on my emotion. Then he inspected my attic and drew me into his web even further by saying there was very little cleanup to do, so he would only charge me @$800. And since he thought he had my trust at that point, then it was time to reel me in. He inspected the outside of the house, came back in and lowered the boom--over $5,000 in work needed to get rid of bats and make sure they didn't enter my home. At that point I pretty much knew he was scamming me, and when I checked with other companies, they told me to use anyone but Platinum Wildlife Removal, that they had seen this same scenario many times before. Don't fall prey to Platinum Wildlife Removal's dishonest business tactics. They should be ashamed of themselves! read more

MY ADVICE: Get it in writing before you sign anything. Do not pay $300 for a $30 trap. Be very diligent and very forthright in regards to setting up dates and times of service. We called for services as we were experiencing squirrels in our attic crawl space. We were given a date and time. We received a text confirming the appointment. Then we received another text moving the date and time without asking us our availability. The representative surveyed the property and came into our home to review the assessment. Without giving us a written proposal it was explained that the cost would be $749. This would include trapping the first squirrel at no charge and returning to complete the closure of the holes which were two. Also that at the end of two weeks they would seal the holes and leave us the trap. When I received an invoice through my email I noticed that the trap cost us $300. It was explained to us that it was for the service of the trap. To which they only serviced one time and was at their expense. It was also explained that after the first removal of a squirrel, it would cost us $70 for each removal on top of the $749.Two weeks have not gone by after closing the hall. There were squirrels again in our attic space and multiple as we could hear them at opposite ends of the house. We called them out to review the assessment again. This was not at our expense. Again each appointment was moved without acknowledging our availability. They found another hole that was not found in the original assessment. We set traps again to which there was only one squirrel in the trap over two weeks. We could not trap the squirrels from outside. We asked to elevate the process This was a last resort of setting rat traps. Timelessly we could hear them chewing at the wood or digging through anything that was in the attic space. This went on for more than a week when we finally convince them to set the rat traps. Two of the traps went off within the same day that they had been installed. Nothing was in the trap on the roof. We called to set a date and time and once again time was moved without acknowledging our availability. At this point it was futile we tried to negotiate with representatives at wildlife rescue to no prevail we were stuck using their services. Finally as of 1229 2021 we have sealed the hole and remove the trap from the roof. All of this started two months ago. Not only were we dissatisfied with the lack of timeliness yet also the representatives would sit in our driveway smoking cigarettes. One of the representatives said that he was waiting for pictures to upload. I'm not sure that was the situation yet was disheartening to see representatives idly doing nothing. read more

I am glad it is gone, but am angry that it took a week for it to depart after destroying all the ceiling tiles in our bar. We used these guys, and the service was not up to our expectations. They charged me $500 to come out Inspect, and set trap. $69 for each animal. Meanwhile we still had a raccoon problem, so we decided to call another company Empire wildlife trapping. Very impressive reasonable price, and most of all very professional cameras and all. I recommend Empire to all. $175.00 to Inspect ,and set trap, which is a better cage. Previous cage was cheap. $50 for each animal what a big difference. read more

The bottom line is that the company has unusually high prices and is somewhat misleading about just what services will be provided on a visit. I had what turned out to be a small red squirrel trapped in my fireplace, with a wood panel reinforced by logs blocking the opening. Because several years ago a raccoon had gotten into the house via the fireplace, I assumed it was a raccoon, and called Platinum Wildlife. I described the setup with the fireplace and wood panel and was told an inspection would be $99 plus $69 for the extraction. Someone came (without calling first, though the office had said he would), looked at the fireplace setup, walked the perimeter of the house, and then went on the roof to inspect the chimney. He reported that the chimney cap had been shredded and then spent much time attaching a phone to a rope he could drop down the chimney to see what the situation was. He told me the video showed the flue was open; I told him the animal had been in the fireplace continuously for 3 days and was clearly unable to climb back up the chimney. He then proposed selling me a trap for $499 and a chimney cap for $175-250. The trap was to go on the roof and I was to inspect it every night to see if anything was in it. I told him the problem was the animal trapped in the fireplace and that a trap on the roof would be useless, so no sale. He said he couldn't extract it from the fireplace, and left. I then called another company (All Species Animal Control), which came out prepared to remove the animal. It did so (fairly quickly since it was a dehydrated little squirrel, not an angry raccoon) and replaced the chimney cap as I was giving the squirrel water. The whole process took less than an hour and cost $225 (probably more had it been a raccoon). One final note: The company had said the $99 inspection would include photographs. I've received neither photos nor the video taken. I did receive a receipt/invoice for the price of not only the inspection, but also the trap and the chimney cap--neither of which I purchased. I contacted the company, which said it would refund the nearly $700 difference! All in all, I had the impression that the company never intended to do an extraction and that it was primarily interested in selling greatly overpriced parts. Oh--and now that I can look for myself--there is a small crack between the flue and the plate, but it is closed. UPDATE: I see a pattern in the reviews for this company: for the most part, it gets 5 stars for bird/bat removal; 1 star for raccoons. It looks like it relies solely on (excessively overpriced) traps for raccoons and isn't prepared to take the proactive measures necessary when a raccoon is in a home. Perhaps it should modify its description of its services or hire more people experienced in dealing with possibly aggressive animals. read more

Do not use this company!!! I hired them to remove a squirrel from basement. They put down a trap that you could buy at a tractor supply for $25 and charged me $400 for it. They saw the squirrel and said that's huge and wouldn't even try to capture it and said let it just go into the trap. They then told me I needed $1900 worth of work on the roof to prevent wildlife from coming inside. I just needed a new chimney cap which costs $100. They charged me $250 for it. The guy that was at my house was so arrogant and talked about his expertise in construction and home repair, but nothing about his experience in critter control. When a new game came to install the chimney cap, he came inside and saw the trap and said who put that in the middle of the floor. He then laughed and said that was his brother who did that since he works there too. He said he always places them wrong. The squirrel was in my basement for 10 days and they never followed up. I ended up hiring a reputable critter service and they trapped and caught the squirrel within one day. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! You will be out hundreds, if not thousands of dollars with zero resolution. Also, the guys walked through my house with muddy shoes. Everything about them is unprofessional. My daughter bought a house recently in Clinton township .She called this company to have a squirrel removed from the wall and ceiling are they charged her $400.00 dollars and left a live trap out side the wall to catch the squirrel. I called them out to remove a critter that was somewhere in my dryer vent hose or stuck in the dryer somewhere. They looked at the hose and said nothing was there and left. Three days later my dryer smells so bad of dead animal that I can't even go in the basement. I called them back to have them back out and they said I should call HVAC instead or if they had to come back out they would charge me the full $99 just to come back out even though they didn't do it correctly the first time. Do not use this company. They charged us almost a $1000 to assist with removing a squirrel from between our walls. The first inspector came out and said that it was likely that the squirrel was coming in from a vent on the side of the house. He said that he would put a trap next to the vent, but instead he put it on the roof several feet below because he did not want to climb up higher to place the trap. When we called them to move the trap closer to the vent as they originally stated that they would, they charged us extra. They claimed that they fixed the vent and disinfected the attic, but there is still a squirrel in our walls and it has been months. They're answering machine said that they call back in 24-48 hours but it has been a week since the last time we tried calling them and they have not called us back. This company is money hungry and does not do what they advertised they would do. They charged us almost $1000 and we are no closer to resolving our squirrel issue. I contacted them regarding noises in my chimney. I thought I might have a bird or animal in it. Fred came out and did an inspection of my attic first, all good there. As he started on the chimney, he saw the birds. Confirmed a next was in the chimney but at a spot where he could not remove it and did not want to until the birds were gone. I contacted this company because I was concerned about some animals that the Ohio Division of Wildlife says can legally be re-released on private property instead of inhumanely "euthanized.". I spoke with several different people in their office, all of whom assured me that all they needed in writing from Div. Wildlife is something stating that the animals can be released instead of and humanely euthanized. Found out they could be anyways. Instead, I got lied to, then ditched. I was patient, and asked staff nicely. But the last person I spoke to treated me like I was a dumb broad, raised his voice at me, acted very hostile and misogynistic and started talking down to me as if I was stupid and couldn't comprehend what he was saying. First the tech who performed the inspection for bat removal got there an hour after the two hour appointment window. After his inspection I received an estimate for $1200. This supposedly included a two year warranty. Having never dealt with this type of situation I wrote a check for $600 to secure a date to get the work started. Later I began thinking about how the tech who performed the inspection had to take photos to send to his boss who then dictated the price. It didn't sit well so I got a few more estimates and settled with a company who performed more chalking of my home along with the bat doors and provided a five year warranty for only $685.00. I called Platinum to advise that I wouldn't be going with their company. The person I spoke with was confused about why I was calling because apparently I wasn't on their schedule yet they were able to attempt to cash my check the day that the work was scheduled. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy! I've had a bat issue for 3 years. I started my bat removal journey in 2018 with another company that went out of business. In the spring of 2020, right after loosing my job due to Covid, I got a quote from Platinum and another company for bat removal. I was burned before after the first company I used closed up shop so I thought I was being smart by getting a quote from multiple companies. I regret choosing Platinum. Even though I wasn't sure where my next paycheck would come from, I chose to cough up $1,100 for bat removal that included a 5 year warranty. This was on top of the almost $700 I had already spent with the other company that went out of business. Well, it's now August 2021 and I'm still sharing my home with BATS! Platinum has been out to my house 8 times. They sent their "quality" technician who stated he couldn't find any issues. He stated that I don't have them living in my house and that everything that needs to be sealed is sealed. I argued that there is still an issue if I'm still getting them. His answer to me was "you live in an area with bats, you are bound to have them in your home." He also noted that they were coming into my breezeway and entering the house that way. Impossible. I spend a major of my time in this room and have never seen a bat in that area. By the end of his inspection I was told there isn't anything else they could do. Pretty much I'm s*** out of luck. Welp, since that visit I've had at 3 bats in my home and a total of 6-7 within a week! This is a record number of bats since my issue started in 2018. I've called multiple times and spoke with the "manager." Today I was told I'd have to pay the $99 inspection fee to have someone come out again! Then she reminded me that they believe they are coming in through my breezeway. So as soon as I got home today I closed all the windows and duct taped around the door that is in question. Not to my surprise I HAD ANOTHER BAT in my house tonight. Why did I pay so much money and does the word warranty mean nothing?! I'm not sure if I'm being discriminated against because I'm a single woman just trying to find comfort in my own home or if they just don't care about their customers! The saying "bat s*it crazy" is how I feel right now! I am a prisoner in my own home. I can't sleep at night and it's starting to take a toll on my mental health. This isn't ok. Well, where do I start? I called two different animal removal companies. I finally got a call back from Platinum Wildlife Removal. Danielle Ashley come out and dropped off the trap on August 13th. The skunk was caught early in the morning of August 14th. I called at 9:30 to let them know that there was a skunk in the trap. No response. I called another number to let them know. No response. I called again and no response. I called again today August 15th and no response. I called again and finally Mr. Nick Tackett answered the phone. I told him about the skunk. He said that I was suppose to called as soon as it was caught. Told him that I did call. Then he got belligerent and very rude. I called Platinum Wildlife on Saturday night. Our tech arrived an hour later than scheduled. We were than quoted $2,700 for bat removal ($1,500 for ridge guard). I was told I needed to put 50% down to get on the schedule, they charged my card the full amount. Our roof is 3 years old. We decided to have a roofer AND another animal control company come out and were told we DID NOT need the ridge guard. After 2 additional second opinions I called Platinum Wildlife Removal. I was told NO REFUNDS. I told them I still wanted the work done (minus the ridge guard) I was told I would still have to pay the full $2,700 even without having the work done. They refunded 1/2 my money but still have $1,396 that they will not give me back even though they did not do the work. Will show up quickly to provide a high priced quote but once an animal is trapped it will not be removed for up to three days - rather inhumane in my book. Reset trap to catch another but the trap was tripped by accident that very night, but crew was not back for another 2 days to even notice.
