In the beginning I wanted not only attic but wall insulation. The owner informed me that wall insulation might be a bad idea because my siding was old but durable, and would likely need replacing afterward because it gets bent easily. He also mentioned concern of asbestos--and upon deep inspection of my attic supply vents, we discovered possible asbestos covering my duct boots and main trunk! This was NOT listed in the sale when I purchased the home in 2024. Thankfully, he had a remediation contact that came over and walked me through encapsulating the asbestos. After encapsulation, and further prep, we were ready. The further prep was me pulling up some floorboards myself to air seal junction boxes, plumbing and wire cutouts, etc. This company offers that, but they are not keen on working around asbestos! So keep that in mind! The prep on installation day was fantastic. After all was said and done there was ZERO mess!! The baffles and coverage was thorough and he set measurement markers throughout the attic to show proof of R60 coverage. My home went from R5 to R60-and I saved an average of 45% this winter in my 800 sq ft home. I also noticed my home is staying cooler now too as we approach May. The invoice was detailed and the owner also was helpful in assisting me with filing for a rebate with my utility company! I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone. They are here to solve your issues with integrity, not just sell you what you are willing to pay! They stand by their work!

scorecard: A+ I…read morereceived three quotes for attic insulation and ultimately chose Metropolitan for several reasons. From the first impression, Bruce and his team stood out--they were extremely careful and respectful of our home. Bruce, born and raised in the community, is deeply rooted in its history and values. He is a man of his word, highly knowledgeable, and honest. As a certified home inspector, he provided expert insights and offered three tiers of pricing, with the most affordable option still meeting our needs. Once we agreed on an option, we placed a deposit and scheduled the installation. On the day of service, Bruce's team arrived with the same professionalism and kindness that he embodies--genuine, humble, and always smiling. They took great care to protect our home, covering our belongings before getting to work. They completed the insulation and added rafter vents efficiently, and Bruce personally ensured the final result met the highest standards. When I inspected the attic, I was blown away by the quality of their work. Not only did they complete the job flawlessly, but they also cleaned up thoroughly, even using HEPA filters to ensure no dust was left behind. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and exceeded my expectations. I was so impressed that I tipped each worker $100 and gave them bags of goodies and food as a token of appreciation. I highly recommend Metropolitan--110%! If you're on the fence, take the plunge. You won't regret it!

We were trying very hard to be ready for the home to go on the real estate market in March. Neighborhood keep us abreast of the weather/schedule and came and did the job as soon as the weather allowed. They kept both the integrity of the roof and the need to meet a time deadline in mind and really helped us out. We are homeowners not roofing professionals, it was nice to know that they've been in Ann Arbor for so long, to know that they are well thought of in the community. We were able to trust them in their pricier advice. And for the scope of the work I feel the price was fair. A roof costs money, doing a roof the right way costs money but at least I know we paid a fair price for a job well done. They offer a long warranty and it's for the roof not for the owner so it transfers to new owners easily. And we know from conversations with multiple real estate agents that the warranty is solid! They were also happy to coordinate with our painter so he could do some painting work along side and in conjunction. This was a big help and made the whole process so much easier than having to do it in two separate steps! Our family highly recommends Neighborhood for all your roofing needs!

In Summer 2025, I called because my AC system was no longer performing normally. It would run continuously during 80-degree weather and could not keep up during 90-degree weather. I have lived in this home since the system was installed and knew that airflow from the vents was significantly lower than it had been in prior years. Because the high-velocity system and ductwork are located in the attic, I specifically requested that the attic ductwork be inspected. During both the original visit and a follow-up visit, I was told the airflow was acceptable, but the attic ductwork was not inspected. Instead, I was advised that poor insulation was likely the reason the system was struggling. After adding insulation, the problem became much worse. When I started the system the following spring, some vents had little or no airflow at all. A different Day & Night technician visited in Spring 2026 and found loose duct connections, which he fixed, and that significantly improved airflow in part of the house. However, the other half of the house still had very poor airflow. I was told that follow-up service could be performed later that week if additional issues remained. The issues did remain, but no call was received and no follow-up service was performed. I contacted the office multiple times over the next two weeks. Each time I was led to believe that service would be scheduled, but it never occurred despite several cool days that were suitable for attic work. After waiting approximately two weeks, I contacted another HVAC company. They inspected the attic ductwork on their first visit and found a compressed duct and a disconnected duct. The repairs were completed during that same visit, at approximately half the cost of Day & Night's most recent service charge. Airflow in the affected area of the home is now dramatically improved and significantly better than it was when I first reported the problem in 2025. Mechanical issues happen, and even experienced technicians can miss a diagnosis. My disappointment is that repeated requests to inspect the attic ductwork were not acted upon, follow-up service that was discussed never occurred, and I ultimately had to hire another company to identify and resolve the remaining problem. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend Day & Night.
