STELLAR SERVICE. From the original service call to the day of installation--I had been met with honesty, integrity, and someone who is personable! In the beginning I wanted not only attic but wall insulation. The owner informed me that wall insulation might be a bad idea because my siding was old but durable, and would likely need replacing afterward because it gets bent easily. He also mentioned concern of asbestos--and upon deep inspection of my attic supply vents, we discovered possible asbestos covering my duct boots and main trunk! This was NOT listed in the sale when I purchased the home in 2024. Thankfully, he had a remediation contact that came over and walked me through encapsulating the asbestos. After encapsulation, and further prep, we were ready. The further prep was me pulling up some floorboards myself to air seal junction boxes, plumbing and wire cutouts, etc. This company offers that, but they are not keen on working around asbestos! So keep that in mind! The prep on installation day was fantastic. After all was said and done there was ZERO mess!! The baffles and coverage was thorough and he set measurement markers throughout the attic to show proof of R60 coverage. My home went from R5 to R60-and I saved an average of 45% this winter in my 800 sq ft home. I also noticed my home is staying cooler now too as we approach May. The invoice was detailed and the owner also was helpful in assisting me with filing for a rebate with my utility company! I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone. Bruce was referred to my by a company we hired to get rid of mold in our attic. Turns out our attic was a giant mess and I'm not sure how it passed inspection, but we started having water leaks as soon as we moved in. Bruce came over twice to check out the issue and was very honest and upfront with me about what was going on up there. I hired him to come out and fix all the vents and he arrived early and took tons of pictures so he was able to explain and show me exactly what he did. So I got some estimates on some blown in attic insulation from the big box stores...and was blown away by their estimates. Then a friend of the family told me to call Metropolitan. I made the call, I got the estimate, and made my decision. Bruce was very thorough in explaining this insulation stuff to me, as I knew nothing except I didn't have any in my attic. DTE brought that to my attention when I got my July electric bill... Initially, I planned to insulate the walls as well, but when the guys came out to do the job, they discovered that the house actually has insulation in the walls and they let me know and called Bruce so he could get me a new estimate. I was so glad they were so honest. At that point, I pictured some other company standing out there blowing air into the walls while I pay for insulation. They put in more soffit vents, four roof vents, baffles, and the blown in insulation. One of the other companies didn't even mention ventilation! The second one mentioned the roof vents, but told me that he'd have to call a roof guy. Bruce took a look at my one drafty window and told me what's wrong with it just because I asked. He also told me some unfortunate news that I will need a new roof in a couple years. The years of this house not having attic insulation until I bought it certainly took a toll on the roof. Improper ventilation + no insulation + Michigan weather = roof start to fall apart. I will definitely be calling these guys when I decide on new windows! We've had Metropolitan Windows & Improvements come out to work on our house on three separate occasions. First, they fixed an area of our roof around our chimney. We thought they did a good job, so we had them back out to cover all the wood trim on our exterior, and to install vented soffits. Finally, they just added insulation to our attic and installed baffles, which it was sorely lacking. All three times we felt their work was very good, and the owner, Bruce, has always come by after the work was done to look it over and make sure we're satisfied (except on the third job, where he ended up assisting in the work himself!). Bruce came out in July to give me an estimate, he was on time and had a lot of knowledge. What I didn't appreciate about his sales pitch was that he wasn't telling me why i should do business with him so much as why i should watch out for the "other guys". Additionally, he wanted approximately 300 for thermal imaging when the other 2 quotes I got would do it for free. I waited for his quote that never came so I went with another contractor and turns out the "other guys" do good work too. The lack of communication from this company is troubling and is one of the reasons why they earn 1 star. read more

Bruce the owner is about one of the nicest people I have ever met. I have a leaking skylight on the second story of my house. I called him up after finding the company on the internet and reading the reviews. I didn't know him before this call. He came out the same day to measure it up. I had to leave town the following Monday. While in DC, I get a frantic call from my wife. The window is starting to leak. I called Bruce and without hesitation, he personally went to my house, fixed the leak including putting a tarp over the skylight until we are able to install it.
