Thanks Larry!

We hired Larry for a kitchen remodel and it seemed like he had good reviews. We had another…read morecontractor out to the house who was very knowledgeable and professional, but only hired Larry because the quote came in lower. Now we seriously regret it. His work was sub-standard at best. His quote was at 3,500 originally, for a tiny kitchen, but when it was time to write the check we were charged an extra $650 in materials. We purchased all of the materials except some wood trim. I don't think mud, and screws, and a little bit of trim warrants $650, an extra charge that we were not informed about in advance, or an itemized list of what materials that he used to justify the extra costs. If screws, mud, and some wood trim warrants a $650 charge he must base his prices on what the government charges people which is seriously over inflated and ridiculous! I asked simple advice during the cabinet install and his excuse quoting him was " I'm a contractor not a designer". I never asked him to design our kitchen. The other contractor came out and actually designed the kitchen even before we hired him. We had a few cabinets that needed to be returned to Home Depot, which all contractors do. His excuse was " my truck is full I can't help you". Also our refrigerator was moved around the kitchen and both handles are now broken, possibly leaving us with having to replace it. The wheels on the refrigerator suddenly stopped turning because there was so much debris under them they seized up because of the lousy clean up of the floor was. Larry installed the new sink, and all new sinks come with garbage disposal covers, and he didn't even look for it in the box, therefore it was not installed leaving us to get someone else to install it. So I found out his honesty level is extremely poor, his work is cheaply done, and his attitude is unprofessional at best. His personality is over inflated just like his material costs! I only paid it because we were so fed up at that point with all of this mess, we just wanted to get rid of him! I asked him how much a tiny backsplash would be , just for my own curiosity and entertainment, and he came in at $2,500! He seriously thought I would even consider that after all the happened! Well, we cheated out hiring a contractor who did sub-standard work and broke our refrigerator handles, and left gouges in our new cabinets, and with a terrible attitude, besides other things. Never do that again! It was well worth hiring the other contractor, who would have done everything for us. We are seniors and my husband has Parkinson's and other health issues which he clearly seen. I would never, ever recommend him to anyone! One star is actually too good for him! Do yourself a favor, do your due diligence when hiring a contractor!

Well worth it! Greenleaf's Ryan and Dana designed a space that was attentive to our desired use,…read morethey were patient with our changes, and they employed a terrific team who worked together seamlessly. Every crew member was courteous, neat, and hardworking, and the renovation was completed in 2- 1/2 of the estimated 3-4 months. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work done by all involved, and we now happily make daily use of a previously avoided space. More: I was the naysayer on this project and I was wrong. My husband wanted to renovate our dreary basement to give me more space for all my hobbies. We had finished the space 30 years ago on the (very) cheap: carpeted exercise room, a tiny office, a bathroom with a shower no one used, and a crammed unfinished laundry room that also contained a former coal bin lined with shelving. An unfinished cold storage room behind the office held old paint and garden supplies. The spaces were functional, but they were dingy, worn, uninviting, and, consequently, not often used. The laundry room was kind of creepy. I couldn't imagine that improving our small, low-ceilinged space would justify what remodels cost these days, but Ryan and Dana helped us see the possibilities. While keeping the price down, they created a large office/art/sewing room with two long built-in desks, each with wonderful deep drawers, and made the laundry/utility area more usable by dismantling the coal bin and painting the walls and floor. They upgraded the quality of the entire basement with a beautiful banister, vinyl wood flooring, better lighting, solid wood doors, and lovely bathroom fixtures. AND they added a window in the office for a bit of natural light. What a difference! We actually exercise in the exercise room, and the other spaces are just a delight. Now it feels more like a "lower level" than a basement. Greenleaf transformed our basement into a wonderful extension of our home's living areas. We highly recommend Ryan, Dana, right-hand-man Todd, and the entire Greenleaf team.

When he asked for our budget, we initially said that we did not know what it should cost, as we assumed there would be significant variability depending on materials used. He offered no more information, so we said $7k, but that we had plenty of leeway, depending on what was proposed. He gave no indication of whether or not this was reasonable, but did say that he would have the designer he works with contact us. Fast forward 2 weeks with no contact, my wife called him to inquire about the designer and estimate. He responded that our budget wasn't high enough, and that it wouldn't be a good fit. If that was the case, he could have told us that when we threw out the $7k. He could have provided some expertise and guidance when we initially said that we didn't know what it should cost. He could have called back or emailed us that he wasn't going to do any work for us. Basically, he could have done many things that are more professional than what he did.

STELLAR SERVICE. From the original service call to the day of installation--I had been met with…read morehonesty, integrity, and someone who is personable! In the beginning I wanted not only attic but wall insulation. The owner informed me that wall insulation might be a bad idea because my siding was old but durable, and would likely need replacing afterward because it gets bent easily. He also mentioned concern of asbestos--and upon deep inspection of my attic supply vents, we discovered possible asbestos covering my duct boots and main trunk! This was NOT listed in the sale when I purchased the home in 2024. Thankfully, he had a remediation contact that came over and walked me through encapsulating the asbestos. After encapsulation, and further prep, we were ready. The further prep was me pulling up some floorboards myself to air seal junction boxes, plumbing and wire cutouts, etc. This company offers that, but they are not keen on working around asbestos! So keep that in mind! The prep on installation day was fantastic. After all was said and done there was ZERO mess!! The baffles and coverage was thorough and he set measurement markers throughout the attic to show proof of R60 coverage. My home went from R5 to R60-and I saved an average of 45% this winter in my 800 sq ft home. I also noticed my home is staying cooler now too as we approach May. The invoice was detailed and the owner also was helpful in assisting me with filing for a rebate with my utility company! I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone. They are here to solve your issues with integrity, not just sell you what you are willing to pay! They stand by their work!

scorecard: A+ I…read morereceived three quotes for attic insulation and ultimately chose Metropolitan for several reasons. From the first impression, Bruce and his team stood out--they were extremely careful and respectful of our home. Bruce, born and raised in the community, is deeply rooted in its history and values. He is a man of his word, highly knowledgeable, and honest. As a certified home inspector, he provided expert insights and offered three tiers of pricing, with the most affordable option still meeting our needs. Once we agreed on an option, we placed a deposit and scheduled the installation. On the day of service, Bruce's team arrived with the same professionalism and kindness that he embodies--genuine, humble, and always smiling. They took great care to protect our home, covering our belongings before getting to work. They completed the insulation and added rafter vents efficiently, and Bruce personally ensured the final result met the highest standards. When I inspected the attic, I was blown away by the quality of their work. Not only did they complete the job flawlessly, but they also cleaned up thoroughly, even using HEPA filters to ensure no dust was left behind. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and exceeded my expectations. I was so impressed that I tipped each worker $100 and gave them bags of goodies and food as a token of appreciation. I highly recommend Metropolitan--110%! If you're on the fence, take the plunge. You won't regret it!
