I have to take a few deep breaths before writing this review…read more We had Alexandria Windows come out to replace a few windows two summers ago. The communication and scheduling was lacking, so we were a little frustrated, but it didn't prepare us for the ordeal we were going to be dealing with. We live in an old house, 1920's. My husband expressed this many times, that appropriate measures would have to be taken as we had lead in our old windows and trim. I heard him over the phone as well as in person and he was assured they would take the steps necessary. The day the windows were to be replaced, my kids and I left the house. Two windows were in our daughters room, the other in our guest bedroom. One window was oriented the wrong way and still installed. The worst part was, after removing the old windows, the workers took leaf blowers out to blow debris out into the yard below and all over the rooms. My husband ran upstairs and yelled at them to stop, that once again, there was lead paint involved. They stopped and cleaned up, but not well enough. My husband wiped everything down afterwards, not trusting it was cleaned properly. A few months later, my daughter received test results showing elevated levels of lead in her blood. It was quick and not a single other person in our family had any detectable levels. I was livid. I'm still livid. I don't care that one of our windows is wrong or that it took forever to arrange communication. I'm livid that lead safe practices weren't followed as promised and my child had to pay for it. You can't put a price on that. Thankfully, she's grown, and the situation is under control now, but if you have an old house, I would absolutely not recommend this company. To the owner, if your business gives homeowners your word that things will be done safely and following safe standards, you need to follow through. Safety should be top priority. This could have had a very poor outcome.

This was my first time really running a project through Yelp. I reached out to a few window…read morecompanies. Chris from Main Street was quick to respond and we set up an on-site consult for later in the week. I knew which windows (4 of them) I wanted replaced since an Anderson Renewal guy had come out separately to inspect & provide a quote. Chris from Main Street was extremely kind, helpful, and upfront. I chose them ultimately because of this pleasant meeting, urgency for the replacement, and fair price. He was my only point of contact the whole job which was nice and he was on top of communicating things throughout the whole process. We also have siding being replaced so he communicated with my other contractor to coordinate timing. Pricing was very reasonable compared to Renewal but more expensive than a DIY vinyl install because of the window quality. I wanted a window that would last and was willing to pay more. The Anderson 100 series installed was literally half the cost of what Renewal had quoted me (I believe they quoted the 300 series) but are very high quality windows regardless and we really like them. There are some minor aesthetic defects from the manufacturing of the windows (pictured here) but they can be trimmed off very easily and aren't a concern. The installer Dre came in with Dan as support and they did a beautiful job. I had plenty of notice beforehand and they finished the job exactly as estimated (about 6 hours) after cleaning up very nicely. All in all, I thought Main Street Windows had a competitive price, I appreciated their recommendation for the product, they did a great job communicating, and the windows look great.

We recently hired J&E to install Pella Impervia windows throughout our home and a new exterior…read moredoor. We're very happy with the Pella product and would gladly recommend it. However, the installation experience with J&E was disappointing. While the installers were polite, the workmanship was substandard: sloppy exterior caulking, poorly cleaned windows, splintered and unpainted sills, missing trim pieces, and sharp unfinished metalwork on exterior windows. A dog door was improperly installed (you can reach your hand inside and unlock the deadbolt). The other dog door was left partially installed. It took us two hours to finish the installation. One new window fogs up regularly--something the old one never did, which makes me think there is an installation issue. Most concerning was the lack of oversight. The owner never did a final walkthrough after the job was deemed "finished" but requested payment regardless. For a company specializing in installation, that level of follow-up is unacceptable. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend J&E. Despite the price difference, I wish we had gone through Pella directly for the installation. =============================================== Edit 6/20/25: Added a Star (from 2 to 3) re: business reply on Google. I hired Josh Kroll owner of Prime Home Remod in the beginning of March 2024 to install a roof,…read morewindows, siding and gutters. This has truly been one of the worst and most frustrating experiences of my entire life. Josh used subcontractors who were terrible at their jobs and didn't follow manufacturer guidelines or standard practice. Had he stopped by to do the job I hired him to do as a general contractor all of these issues could've been resolved as they arose. Instead the only times he was interested in swinging by or calling was to collect payments. Josh sent out a repair guy who I never met before to address concerns. This repair guy expected me to give him the final payment. I called Josh with my concerns. All he did was scream and threaten me. Josh didn't come out. I wasn't satisfied at all with how things went and many issues were left unresolved. He resorted to using a high profile attorney just hours after this took place. Important to note that this attorney is related to him and I believe was an attempt to intimidate me. He also had building inspectors from my township stop by without warning and off the record as a "favor." No permits were required for this job so no reason for them to be at my home at all. A third party inspector did in fact reveal that things weren't up to par, however Josh didn't follow all directives from the inspector. The insulation board was not installed correctly and had to be redone among other items (windows, roof, siding). Josh started the insulation board job in December of 2024. They got the siding off and new insulation board up right as weather was coming in then left my house exposed in extreme winter weather conditions until February 2025. Garbage and siding left under snow and ice all over the yard blowing all over my neighborhood for over 50 days. I still had to fight every step of the way and am still dissatisfied. His guys came out several times throughout 2025 to address concerns (showing up with no notice everytime). I haven't seen or heard from Josh directly since late 2024. Never do business with Josh Kroll and Prime Home Remod. If you have used Prime Home Remod (especially for Greengaurd insulation board installed 2024 and earlier), get a private inspection done because it was probably done incorrectly. They'll cause more harm to your home than good.
