NorthWest Construction is a quality company that will give you a very fair and competitive estimate, comprehensive inspection, very thorough installation, clean-up and warranty on a roofing job. Terry Burke (owner of NorthWest Construction), was the only contractor of those I contacted, to take pictures of the entire roof to show me the damage. He was very thorough in explaining the leak detection process, as well as what the repair would entail, including the materials required and a detailed breakdown of the cost for materials and labor. Terry answered every question I had and explained how the previous repair job (by another contractor) was done and why it was ineffective. Workers tore off old shingles, replaced damaged wood around window above garage; installed ice guards, moisture barriers, installed aluminum siding to prevent future damage to wood around window. Terry took pictures of the repairs as work was in progress, which helped in explaining the cause of the leak and what was being done to fix it. One other item important to note is that I asked all of the contractors for an estimate on the roof repair and new gutters. All of them EXCEPT NorthWest Construction gave me an estimate to repair the roof leak with caulking and another one for new gutters. Terry Burke was the only one to say caulking would only be a band-aid on the problem AND advised me that I did not need new gutters. That right there told me I could trust him. If this small job is indicative of his company's work as a whole, then I highly recommend NorthWest Construction for any roof repair, as they are quick to respond, and extremely thorough in both their repair and quality of roof work itself. read more

I recently had a new roof put on my half of a duplex. I initially called some nationally recognized companies, but when they wouldn't do the job, a neighbor recommended NorthWest. Am I glad she did! Terry Burke, the owner, came to give the estimate and was very professional, honest, and friendly. The work crew (crew chief Steve, Brett, and Ryan) were amazing. They also were very professional, personable, and patient with my questions. They took the time to explain things to me, and were considerate of my neighbors (important, since I share a driveway!). The guys worked really hard, and did a great job. They were there when they said they would be, and made sure I was satisfied with their work. They were even concerned for my safety with an upstairs metal awning that was loose, and tried to fix it, even though that was not part of the job. I was especially impressed with their clean-up of the job site. I did not find one nail, piece of shingle, paper ..... Nothing! (Friends who have had roofing jobs done by other companies warned me that I would find nails all over. They were shocked when I told them how clean everything was!) When the job was finished, Steve and Brett shook my hand and thanked me for the work. When he came to inspect the job when it was finished, Terry did the same. A couple days after the roof was done we had a bad storm and everything was watertight and in great shape -- as promised! I highly recommend this company and would absolutely call NorthWest again for future projects, and will definitely refer them to friends and family! We hired NorthWest Construction for a relatively small job - adding a gutter/downspout to our 3-car garage. I initially selected this company because they answered my call right away, spoke knowledgeably on the phone, and beat all of the other estimates that I received. When the owner, Terry Burke, came to the house for the consultation, I was struck by his professionalism, easy-going manner, and non-salesy approach. I was also impressed with his portfolio of work. Enthusiastically, I asked about having him do several other jobs. To my delight and surprise, he told me that a couple of the items I mentioned, did not need repair at the moment. His honest approach truly earned my respect. The day the work was done, my schedule was so hectic that I forgot all about the appointment and was at work until late. We had Terry Burke come out and give us a quote on our roof on a home we recently purchased in mid October 2019. The job was for a complete tear off, any necessary repairs, replace with GAF shingles, new sky lights/blinds. As the job got started, inclement weather prevented it from being completed all at once. Torrential rains, snow, sleet, wind, ice, crazy weather. Nonetheless, the plucky crew's tenacity eventually won out and the job was completed. The crew also rerouted some crazy venting in the attic and moved all the vents to one side of the house so they're not as unsightly. The house is a one-of-a-kind and frankly, no one could have done a more beautiful roofline; huge improvement over what it was. I will also add that Northwest also did some minor construction on the house we sold and also did a top flight job on that, particularly the quarter round moldings they installed on newly refinished flooring. I was nervous at first to hire anyone to work on my home (I am newly widowed), but John made me feel at ease and explained everything thoroughly. I first had them do my garage door, and since that went well, I had them do my gutters. That also went well. So I took the plunge and had them do my bathroom. The bathroom was a complete renovation and they did an amazing job. Rob and Carlos showed up everyday, and worked very hard. The results are amazing! They do high-quality work! They were also pleasant to deal with. Very professional and willing to explain all that they were doing. The price was reasonable (I had gotten 3 estimates for all 3 jobs) and the final amount was close to what the quote was for. I had added extras that were not quoted, and John kept tabs on the increases and kept me informed. Next, I hope to have them do my kitchen! Got a quote in May 2017 and they came out end of November 2017 to redo my siding, gutters, and all external trim. Terry (owner) came to our house three times -- & went up on our roof two of those times, trying to help us find a mysterious small leak. In the end, he referred us to someone else with infrared equipment to help us find it -- & didn't even charge us anything for the time & effort he invested in trying to locate it. Wow!!!
