1 year later and my cement is crumbling and cracking everywhere. Owner was very difficult to deal with and he thought he was right about everything! Very messy work, cement was splattered all over my house and my neighbors. Did not pass 1st inspection and owner had a total melt down as if it was my fault. Beware because I assumed he was going to pull the permit and there was an argument about this and that should have been been my 1st RED flag. Did not put expansion material butted against my house and now the cement that is settling and it's lifted and crunching my siding up and creating cracks in my drywall. I had a fantastic experience with Morpho Carpentry. I found several major issues with my newly purchased home and needed major work done. I needed full demo of the back part of my home, a rat wall on the exterior wall, waterproofing, regrading, and reconstruction (insulation, drywall, paint, floors, etc.). I reached out and gathered estimates from more than 15 places in the area. Every other contractor didn't seem to grasp the complexities of the work I was trying to get quoted, but I could tell James completely understood and listened to me. His price was also very fair. He made the whole process straightforward. When a couple unexpected problems came up, he explained the situation to me and provided me with fair options. Alright, let's add a sprinkle of humor to that review! --- If you value your sanity and your home, steer clear of these MoFo's! I've hired more contractors than I can count, but these guys take the cake--and not in a good way. I enlisted Frank to give my 40 sq ft bathroom and stairway a makeover, and three months later, I was left with a half-finished project and a serious case of buyer's remorse. First off, I had to remind them about putting in an outlet for the bathroom. Who knew that was a groundbreaking concept? "Hey, let's make a room where people get clean... but they'll have to dry their hair in the hallway!" Genius, right? Then there was the flooring fiasco. The alignment was so off, I thought they were trying to recreate a funhouse effect. Spoiler alert: it didn't work. And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, they hired a painter who seemed to have taken "drip art" a bit too literally. I was half-expecting a gallery showing of "Primer Stains: The Untold Story." So here's my hard-earned lesson--always check references like you're auditioning for a reality show. If a contractor doesn't take notes, run for the hills! I work way too hard for my money, and I don't think I should have to put up with shoddy, disrespectful work.
