Communication was on point! I was super happy I didn't need to purchase any new materials - since my backing was pushing in he was able to reuse the existing tile without cracking either. My biggest fear was if mold was behind the tile - he was confident it wasn't. But of course I asked if it was and he did give me a price like I asked so I would be prepared. The work took 2 days due to drying time and he was able to work with my weird schedule as well. Definitely will use company in the future. Clean my situation. They are very bad company, not professional, not carpenters. Do not know carpentry whatsoever. I would have been better off doing it myself, but I'm not a carpenter. But I would have done the same job. They did so I have to get another carpenter out here, and I've had a few carpenters that I talked to, who know this boy and he's a swindler, buys the cheapest material. He can buy says he pays his men $30. An hour when I told him that he forgot that he told me that lie not to be trusted. The countertop it was never fixed. It's not level at all. And instead of putting the clamps to hold the sink in place on the bottom of the sink, they decided they would do a real c***** c*** job around it. They did great carpentry work for me, but I would be very careful to ask for licensed people for other services. For example, they said they could fix my gas fireplace, but they left me with a potentially life-threatening gas leak. They came back to fix it, but just made a bigger mess. They took my money anyway, and said they would fix it next time they came out, but I didn't want them doing any more work for me, so I just lost the hundreds of dollars I had paid them to fix it. They were very pushy about not giving the opportunity to make good decisions while they were at my house. I spent $600 fixing the mess they made. They also did some plumbing for me and just forgot to hook up the hot water. It turned out I needed a new faucet for one of my bathrooms, and they wouldn't even let me pick it out, they just went to Lowe's and bought the cheapest thing they could find. I'm disappointed that I can't recommend them more highly, because they did really good carpentry work when I really needed it. read more

They took a closet in a spare bedroom and moved our laundry from the basement to the first floor. They also added a door from the bedroom into the bathroom. We contacted Dave and his floor guy Brian to refinish our red oak floors throughout our home in Ann Arbor. They were able to start within a couple of days and finish very quickly. Their work was thorough, they communicated with updates every couple of days, their quote was accurate, and the floors look beyond AMAZING. It's a complete transformation. They were also able to sand down and stain our stair treads, which were very reddish to start out with but they were able to make them match the rest of our oak floors. We've decided to declutter, downsize, and move...and we have a LOT of house! 4,000 square feet or so. Dave Hare, the owner, and Ashley, his manager, came to give us an estimate. He did it right there and emailed it to me before he left. He is not flashy or slick or give us a prepared speech. He spoke very highly of the people who work for him, especially how good at their craft they are. I can attest to their skill! The paint, "agreeable gray" to sell, is perfect. Bob and Jeremy were so nice to talk with, and they're pretty low key so you can be sitting in the other room and you won't hear a phone or playlist. It was really easy to have them here. And Dave Hare came by every day to check on the progress. Brian is here today, sanding the floors. We're lucky in that we can stay in the mother-in-law apartment. Dave prefers we not be there to inhale all the dust. At the point, I can tell you that the sanding alone makes my floor so pretty. Brian vacuums while he's here and when he's done for the day. He uses our garage code to get in and to leave....he just goes about his craft. Super nice, as the others are, too. You won't regret having them work for you. I am very happy with the floor repair Cartenter's Servant did. The original installation had a large ridge at the transition of the floor to the step because the bullnose was not installed properly by the original installers or their repair people. Carpenter's Servant repaired this installation so the transition is barely noticable. Now, I look at the bull nose area and non't cringe. It is wonderful to feel good about my floor again. read more

I needed some minor work done on the exterior of my home - inspecting, replacing, and painting some trim boards. It was higher on the home than I was comfortable working on and not sure I had the right tools or time to complete. I called several contractors for estimates. Dave's professionalism and estimate seemed to be the right blend. Dave and his team were prompt in communicating. I told him that I knew this was a smaller job and if he had other jobs prior to getting to me that was fine. I just wanted it done before winter. When they came to do the work, the communication was great, and they completed the job faster than expected. The final bill was less than the estimate which was a pleasant surprise.
