We have used Dave and his guys for a couple of jobs and very happy with the results. Great work at fair price. Will definitely be our go to from now on. read more

Communication was on point! I was super happy I didn't need to purchase any new materials - since my backing was pushing in he was able to reuse the existing tile without cracking either. My biggest fear was if mold was behind the tile - he was confident it wasn't. But of course I asked if it was and he did give me a price like I asked so I would be prepared. The work took 2 days due to drying time and he was able to work with my weird schedule as well. Definitely will use company in the future. Side note - the owner came each day to review the workers progress and the work; provided all the update information. Happy home improvement!!! read more

Clean my situation. They are very bad company, not professional, not carpenters. Do not know carpentry whatsoever. I would have been better off doing it myself, but I'm not a carpenter. But I would have done the same job. They did so I have to get another carpenter out here, and I've had a few carpenters that I talked to, who know this boy and he's a swindler, buys the cheapest material. He can buy says he pays his men $30. An hour when I told him that he forgot that he told me that lie not to be trusted. The countertop it was never fixed. It's not level at all. And instead of putting the clamps to hold the sink in place on the bottom of the sink, they decided they would do a real c***** c*** job around it. And it looks like c*** looks like I did it with my eyes. Closed. read more

UPDATE: The Carpenters Servant did a fantastic job. Dave & George's team of skilled craftsmen did a fantastic job. They took a closet in a spare bedroom and moved our laundry from the basement to the first floor. They also added a door from the bedroom into the bathroom. Attention to details were paramount from matching our existing doors, handles and paint. When they couldn't find matching moldings they came up with a solution, perfection! I highly recommend this company!! read more

They did great carpentry work for me, but I would be very careful to ask for licensed people for other services. For example, they said they could fix my gas fireplace, but they left me with a potentially life-threatening gas leak. They came back to fix it, but just made a bigger mess. They took my money anyway, and said they would fix it next time they came out, but I didn't want them doing any more work for me, so I just lost the hundreds of dollars I had paid them to fix it. They were very pushy about not giving the opportunity to make good decisions while they were at my house. I spent $600 fixing the mess they made. They also did some plumbing for me and just forgot to hook up the hot water. It turned out I needed a new faucet for one of my bathrooms, and they wouldn't even let me pick it out, they just went to Lowe's and bought the cheapest thing they could find. I'm disappointed that I can't recommend them more highly, because they did really good carpentry work when I really needed it. read more

When I prayed for a solution to replace my condo kitchen floor after getting quotes from other companies, a search returned The Carpenter's Servant among the possibilities. Dave quickly came out to provide an estimate and materials recommendations and I knew I had my solution. They seem to keep a busy schedule but it was worth the wait. The team was quick and friendly and I love my new kitchen floor. The team also helped me with a few other issues in the house I didn't realize I had! A blessing all around and truly The Carpenter's Servants. read more

We contacted Dave and his floor guy Brian to refinish our red oak floors throughout our home in Ann Arbor. They were able to start within a couple of days and finish very quickly. Their work was thorough, they communicated with updates every couple of days, their quote was accurate, and the floors look beyond AMAZING. It's a complete transformation. They were also able to sand down and stain our stair treads, which were very reddish to start out with but they were able to make them match the rest of our oak floors. We could not be happier with Dave and his team. Very highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional team to handle wood floor refinishing. Next up they will be doing some painting for us. read more

This team is absolutely amazing. Incredibly personable, Dave Hare and his daughter are the front of the business. Dave, the owner, decides if the job is something his contractors can do, then measures. His daughter keeps track of all the measurements and is Dave's right hand. Dave got the interior of our house painted and the entire downstairs hardwood floor refinished. all the work was beautifully done. And his costs were more than competitive. Because of Dave's responsiveness, integrity and honesty, you will find not many better handyman's services better than The Carpenter's Servant. we really enjoyed everyone on the team in our home. read more

We've decided to declutter, downsize, and move...and we have a LOT of house! 4,000 square feet or so. Dave Hare, the owner, and Ashley, his manager, came to give us an estimate. He did it right there and emailed it to me before he left. He is not flashy or slick or give us a prepared speech. He spoke very highly of the people who work for him, especially how good at their craft they are. I can attest to their skill! The paint, "agreeable gray" to sell, is perfect. Bob and Jeremy were so nice to talk with, and they're pretty low key so you can be sitting in the other room and you won't hear a phone or playlist. It was really easy to have them here. And Dave Hare came by every day to check on the progress. Brian is here today, sanding the floors. We're lucky in that we can stay in the mother-in-law apartment. Dave prefers we not be there to inhale all the dust. At the point, I can tell you that the sanding alone makes my floor so pretty. Brian vacuums while he's here and when he's done for the day. He uses our garage code to get in and to leave....he just goes about his craft. Super nice, as the others are, too. You won't regret having them work for you. They also offer handyman services....I know who I'm calling for some grout replacement! read more

It was very easy to work with Dave and his crew! They did an excellent job on my 3 outdoor repairs I need before the winter. I was thankful they were able to use some materials I already had, in addition to some new materials needed. I thought Dave pricing was reasonable and up front, I was kept updated though out the job! read more

Dave and his crew are consummate professionals and great guys as well. Dave gave me the best value for my dollar. He was not the cheapest quote, nor the most expensive, and his customer service and quality of workmanship was absolutely top notch. Honest, fair, and just positive energy from start to finish with Dave and his crew. They painted the whole exterior and a few interior ceilings of my 1920's Sears home in Ann Arbor, replacing some missing cedar shake siding along the way. There were add-on handyman services that were tossed in too, like replacing a water spigot, spreading mulch around the perimeter, and the pricing came in fair for that too. I can't recommend these guys enough! read more

I am very happy with the floor repair Cartenter's Servant did. The original installation had a large ridge at the transition of the floor to the step because the bullnose was not installed properly by the original installers or their repair people. Carpenter's Servant repaired this installation so the transition is barely noticable. Now, I look at the bull nose area and non't cringe. It is wonderful to feel good about my floor again. read more

I needed some minor work done on the exterior of my home - inspecting, replacing, and painting some trim boards. It was higher on the home than I was comfortable working on and not sure I had the right tools or time to complete. I called several contractors for estimates. Dave's professionalism and estimate seemed to be the right blend. Dave and his team were prompt in communicating. I told him that I knew this was a smaller job and if he had other jobs prior to getting to me that was fine. I just wanted it done before winter. When they came to do the work, the communication was great, and they completed the job faster than expected. The final bill was less than the estimate which was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely recommend Dave and I would happily use him and his team again. 5 stars. read more

Never replied with quote estimates and ignored all calls. I wouldn't recommend this place for urgent work you need done.

Amateur contractors that frequently no-call, no-show; over-promise, over-reach and are completely clueless on managing a crew. Of the work that was allowed before severing ties, it has proven to be inadequate because he allows unskilled workers to perform skilled work. Beware of this overzealous "contractor." read more

I couldn't be happier with the service I've received from this business. I had initially called them to put a new roof on my home, but they did such a wonderful job that I kept calling them back for more work! They were always on time, the price was always very fair, and the end result was always beautiful. My home is now unrecognizable, but in the best possible way! If I ever need anything else done, I know who to call! read more

I enjoyed working with Dave on the installation of my storm door. He is very professional and kept me informed at every stage of the project, even when the door I selected was backordered. Was looking to have my house repaired due to a tree falling onto it and tearing down my gutters. After getting multiple estimates I called Dave and he came out to take a look promptly. After giving me an estimate I reviewed it and then scheduled an appointment to have the repairs done. Him and his crew were on time as promised. His estimate after the repairs were made were less than what he quoted me. They left my place looking cleaner than what I had it when they were done and cleaned up. The workmanship was remarkable. Could not tell there was even any damage! If you are looking for honest, reliable, and professional service this is your company! Keep up the good work guys!!! read more
