Here is the short of the long for those not interested in the long explanation:…read moreWe drove 4 hours from Virginia, with the intention of bringing home the gray 2015 BMW X3 (VIN 5UXWX9C57F0D56604). We took the car (against head manager Ali Nezam's advice), to the BMW of Alexandria dealership for a PPI (pre-purchase inspection); this cost to us was $349 plus tax. Ali tried to tell us how expensive it would be and tried to deter us from doing this. Ali tried to send us to BMW of Fairfax, where he bragged he had a "foreman that could see the car off the books". I passed obviously. The service advisor at BMW of Alexandria, John Mannion, who knew Ali from servicing his own M3 there, checked us in. Later, John finally called us and explained they had finished and we could come get the car. He told us there were numerous, serious issues with the vehicle and he COULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING IT. He went on to itemize all the issues individually. John told us the car was "MECHANICALLY TOTALED". The cost to repair everything wrong was near or over $20,000!!! Here's the long: This included replacing the entire engine! John explained, "there were chunks of metal in the oil pan when we drained it". How could any 1/2 competent mechanic miss this? Ali's excuse was "they had just changed the oil and there were no indications of metal". After the BMW inspection and report, Ali doubled down to say "they inspected the oil pan and still found no metal". Hogwash. He's a charlatan and a liar. Tony, the sales rep, excused this because they "use a third party to do the inspection and oil changes so they must have missed it". Again, always a rebuttal or excuse for everything. There was "obvious water damage inside the cabin and around the battery" per John's report. The display screen had been changed out already and the WRONG screen installed, causing the pixel issues. Ali even tried to get a used screen from a junk yard to swap it for us. This was likely already done with the wrong model. John suspects the water damage is what ruined the original screen and "heads-up display" feature, which we noticed was not functioning during our test drive. There were oil splatters on the serpentine belt and tensioner. This was an indication of the engine blowing gaskets and it had been repaired with temporary fixes. They failed to replace the belt and tensioner so it was obvious to a qualified, competent mechanic what had happened. Multiple panels were missing from the undercarriage of the vehicle. There were suspension issues and the report stated "INCREASED CHANCE OF ROLL-OVER ACCIDENT". Ali was selling us this car for our 16 year old daughter. John said he did not feel the car would have even made the drive back to Virginia!! Ali sent an email with rebuttals to everything the Certified BMW dealership of Alexandria (who has no skin in the game and is UNBIASED) found in their pre-purchase inspection. He has an excuse for everything. Please feel free to call JOHN MANNION at the BWM of Alexandria dealership and discuss this with him if there's any question to my intentions. I am a physician and base my life and practice on transparency and honesty. All the negative reviews seem right in line with my own experience. Multiple people reporting they had to replace entire engines within weeks of buying from Ali. Upon arrival, Tony the sales rep met us and pulled the vehicle from a storage rack. He started it up and we noticed a ticking with the engine. He immediately Googled 2015 BMW X3 and showed us how this is common with the fuel injectors. I searched this quickly and found this to be true, UNLESS, it's something more serious! When I tried to address this with him, he dismissed the idea and was emphatic "it is normal and just the fuel injectors". Ok, so we sat in the car and I noticed some water in the back seat. I couldn't see where it had leaked in from but this was also a red flag. When I started navigating though the dash menu screen and noticed the pixels didn't line up. I brought this to Tony's attention and he stated "it must just need a software update". Again, minimizing every issue as "no big deal". When he couldn't resolve the issue he got the manager, Ali Nezam, involved. Now it really gets interesting. The slick tongued manager proceeded to also tell us how it "just needed a software update" and he "would take care of it". After waiting for an hour, disconnecting the battery, having his "mechanic" pull it into the garage and remove the display unit, he conceded it needed a new screen. I inquired, how do we know it's not the entire head unit causing the issue ($3000 repair from BMW) and he was adamant that it wasn't. He had a fast and slick rebuttal to every concern we had. I was polite with Ali and since he would never return my phone calls, I communicated through email and text. I requested he respectfully pay the $360 total we paid for the pre-purchase inspection, he declined. BUYER BEWARE!!!

(Haven't had the car for 30 days yet--will update once it's been past 30 days)…read more Purchased a 2009 Toyota Corolla on September 27th. Didn't have the best experience but it was okay. They definitely overpriced the car and didn't want to budge on the price much which was disappointing since it is an old car. One of the sales managers, Taha, was very stubborn on the price. Got it diagnosed for a brake issue today which costs $500, but I won't put all the blame on the dealership since I should have gotten a pre purchase inspection. A tire pressure sensor came on as well a few days after I bought the car which again not great but not the worst thing. They also agreed to fix a crack and have been very stubborn and hard to deal with about that considering I don't live in VA. Overall the experience hasn't been the best. I will see how fixing the crack issue goes since I will be going back for the 2nd time so the body shop can try to fix the crack AGAIN. Overall if you want to buy a car here, I say 1. Bring a mechanic with you or purchase a pre purchase inspection 2. Consider difficulties with being an out of state purchaser if you are in that scenario 3. Be willing to walk away if they don't want to come down on the price to a reasonable amount. -These are used cars ! Not new. At this point I wouldn't recommend them and I wouldn't purchase another car from them. (I will update review once I've had the car a little longer.)

Finally, I went to their office in person and met with the finance manager, Alex Belhadi, who had me sign a form and told me I would be getting a refund check in the mail in 6-8 weeks. Incredibly incompetent staff- do not recommend buying a car from them.

When I arrived I was told the car I was interested in was in the warehouse. I waited approximately 45 mins for someone to bring a dirty car for me to look at and test drive. The car appeared to be OK and the test drive was OK. So I decided to purchase the car (2013 Ford Focus). I did not leave the lot with the 2013 Ford Focus. I was promised the car would be delivered to me. (So far, I am getting a good vibe from the Guillermo). On the day the car was to be delivered I received a call from Guillermo informing me that the person delivering the car needed to go back to the lot she was having problems. A couple of days later I was called and told by Guillermo the car should be delivered to me and that I need to have it inspected in my state. Guillermo also informed me if the 2013 Ford Focus did not pass inspection in my state he would make the necessary repairs to the car. (I'm still getting good vibes). I took the car to inspection and it failed. I called Guillermo to inform him of the failed inspection, texted him a copy of it and a short list of minor things inside the car that needed to be addressed. He then agreed to what was on the list as well as the failed inspection list. I was called to come and pick the car up everything was repaired and ready to go. Now here is where the NIGHTMARE begins. When I went to pickup the 2013 Ford Focus I had to wait for at least 3 hours due to when I got there the car was not even ready. Eagle Automotive did not even start the repairs until I got there. I was sitting and waiting for hours. Eagle Automotive repairman rushed through the repairs and now nasty and rude attitudes start to emerge. I was told by Guillermo that he was doing me a favor and some of the other people in the office (2) to be exact starting being rude and disrespectful as well. Guillermo claimed the repairs were complete and I left. Long story short I purchased, the car in December 2023 I drove the 2013 Ford Focus for (3) months Jan., Feb., and March. I called Guillermo and explained the problem. Here I am today to let everyone know this is not a good dealership to buy a car from. Eagle Automotive Guillermo sold me a car that he new had a faulty transmission. I drove the car for only three months and basically had to trash the entire car to the junk yard. Please do your research before dealing with Eagle Automotive. They ARE NOT HONEST PEOPLE!!!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A CAR FROM EAGLE AUTOMOTIVE!!!!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about my recent car-buying experience at Merlex Auto Group. From…read morethe moment I parked my car, the staff was so very welcoming. I was only planning to look but the hospitality extended, pulled me right in. I knew this dealership was different from the others I'd visited. My sales consultants, Steve, and Apollo (GSM) were a breath of fresh air in the car-buying world. There was absolutely no pressure - just genuine interest in helping me find the right vehicle. I came to take a look at a Benz but ended up leaving with a practically brand new Audi that was within my price range. They listened carefully to my requirements and showed me several options that perfectly matched what I was looking for, without trying to upsell me to something more expensive. They provided a detailed breakdown of all costs, and their initial offer was actually very reasonable - no back-and-forth games or hidden fees. The finance department was equally impressive. Nik in financing explained all my options clearly and didn't push any unnecessary add-ons. He helped me secure a great interest rate and made the paperwork process smooth and efficient. What really stood out was their attention to detail even after the sale. We were at the dealership extremely late finalizing the sale and completing paperwork. The owner, Sam, made sure that we had dinner. They purchased dinner for us from a local staple in the area. Bottom line: If you're in the market for a luxury used car, do yourself a favor and visit Merlex Auto Group. They've completely changed my perception of what car buying can be - no stress, no games, just honest and professional service from start to finish. Ask for: Steve (sales); Apollo (GSM) and Nik (finance). Tell them Coco referred you!

Before dealing with Merlex Auto Group at 1105 Glebe Rd in Arlington, VA, please read this account…read moreof my recent experience which demonstrates the business's poor practices: "Grace" was the online business point of contact who reached out to me when I expressed interest in buying one of their used cars. She continued to reach out to determine whether I was still interested in the car. When we connected she confirmed that the car was still available. We then made arrangements to meet at the dealership for a test-drive early that afternoon. After we agreed to a specific time, she texted me: "See you later!" When I arrived at the business's used car lot and entered the small building on the lot, there was no one to greet me. After waiting for a couple of minutes, I walked to the doorway of an open office and asked for "Grace." The two men in the office gave me such a cold, almost disdainful look, and the one behind the desk indicated he had no idea who "Grace" was. When he then said that I needed an appointment, I informed him that I had an appointment with Grace, with whom I'd been corresponding via text. He directed me to speak with one of the representatives outside and promptly closed the office door, as if to emphasize that he had no interest in dealing with the likes of me, a customer ready to pay cash for a used car! A representative who had just entered the building asked who I was supposed to see. When I told him "Grace," he found my appointment on his phone said that he was going to contact "Mo." "Who is "Mo?" He explained that Grace, the person who texted to me that she would "See me later," worked from home and did not come into the office. I declined his request to have a seat while he continued to try and reach "Mo." I instead went outside into the lot and saw the car I'd come to test drive. The employee had followed me out and confirmed that the car was the one in which I'd expressed interest. He was still trying to reach "Mo" and walked away after saying that I could inspect the car. After visually inspecting the outside of the car, I sat inside it, looking at its condition. Just as I was mulling over how strong the cigarette smell in the car was, I heard another salesman calling out: "Sir, you can't be in that car. It's sold already." I explained that Grace had just texted me that the car was available and had scheduled a test drive. He repeated that the car was sold. Here is why I will not give my hard-earned cash to Merlex Auto Group: 1. The office personnel are rude and unprofessional, giving off a "clear "don't bother me" vibe. 2. Either the online sales representative did not know that the car was no longer available, which speaks to poor business procedures; or else she knew but failed reach out to let me know so I wouldn't have to drive for well over an hour for nothing. 3. Instead of the online representative telling me who would be working with me at the lot site, Grace instead gave me the clear impression that she would be there by texting: "See you later!" 4. As I left the lot and as of the time of this post, no one with the business has even bothered to reach out to me to express regrets over how things went. If this is the kind of poor service you receive when the business is trying to close deals, just imagine what must occur after you've signed a contract and a problem or disagreement surfaces. No, thank you. Times are way too hard and I choose to not give my hard-earned money to businesses that treat customers in this fashion. Consumer beware.
