The treatment was extremely painful--far beyond what was described--and I could feel the needles going very deep into my skin. I was told I'd be fine after 20 minutes, but that wasn't the case. My appointment was on March 7, and as of April 23, my skin is still about three shades darker than before. The pharmacy that the compounded semaglutide comes from does not specify the amount of each ingredient that is in their vials. I was never told prior to paying $300 for the medication that it was not actually FDA approved. I did not know that the semaglutide was not Ozempic or Wegovy until I went to open the box that the vial arrived in and read "compounded injection." With so many warnings and adverse effects that people are experiencing with semaglutide I wanted only to inject an FDA approved liquid into my body. I expressed these sentiments to a person named Amir and was told that per my agreement that I signed I could not receive a refund even if I returned the unopened vial to the place. There are websites that advertise their semaglutide as what it is, a compounded semaglutide injection. I'd read online that compounded semaglutide could be risky and I did not want to take a risk. Had I been blatantly and honestly told, prior to paying $300, that I would not be receiving the FDA approved semaglutide (Ozempic or Wegovy), I would not have moved forward with them at all. I'm not saying that what they're prescribing is without a doubt dangerous or poses risks but the problem is that there's no way of knowing one way or the other. Especially because, as I said, the pharmacy's website does not specify the exact amount of each ingredient included in their compound. (As the pharmacy's reviews state as well, the pharmacy has non-existent customer service so good luck getting any answers from them). Stay safe folks! Since I can't respond to the owners response: I was never offered a brand name version of the drug. I was explained that I had the option of semaglutide or tirzepatide. I had never heard of tirzepatide and I was told that semaglutide was a "nice Honda" and tirzepatide was a "Mercedes Benz" because you said tirzepatide is like "Tylenol with codeine" while semaglutide was just "Tylenol." You said that because tirzepatide is twice as strong it's $600 for 3 months. Because of my hesitation as to its strength and my necessity for such a strong drug, I declined it and wanted to take a medication I had some knowledge of through my own research. Especially because the use of cars and Tylenol with codeine as comparisons to the two drugs felt like you were pushing a more expensive option on me for your business's sake as opposed to my necessity. Us both being African American has nothing to do with my receiving an honest medical service from you all. I didn't need to be banned because I never planned on returning.
