I was a walk-in today. About 3-4 weeks ago I got a powder acrylic manicure "from hell" from another nail salon on the north side of Boulder. I stupidly used a coupon I got in the mail, big mistake! To make a long story short, I could not remove the cement like material that was on my nails no matter how many times I tried or looked at youtube videos, and there was no way I was returning to the original salon. City Nails removed the "cement" with an electric file and I then got a shellac manicure that looks absolutely perfect, probably the best shellac manicure I've ever had. The owner of the salon did the removal and Ana (her daughter) then applied the new manicure. They were both so nice to deal with and had a good laugh about my nail story. I will be back! read more

The first time I came I thought they did a good job on my nails. However, I started seeing that they were not treating me how a customer should be treated. The second time I went there, even though I had booked an appointment the lady stopped in the middle of my session to work on someone that had just arrived. She made me feel like she was on a rush, not wanting me to pick more than one color, and refused to do a French because "that's not what I said in the beginning." The third time I went she wanted to work on somebody else again in the middle of my session. I let that pass the first time, but on my third visit I was really upset at their poor costumer service considering she charged me a considerable price for what I got done. read more

I found this place simply by driving around. Everything else seems to be closed on Sundays. The salon is run by a mother-daughter team. The daughter did my manicure and her mom waxed my eyebrows. They both did a great job and were very friendly. Plus the price was very affordable. I'm glad I stumbled across this place. I'll be back for sure. read more

I had a terrible experience at City Nails...I asked the technician not to cut my cuticles and she attempted to do so anyway...when I asked her to stop again she responded rudely...was trimming my nails and cut into my thumb. Very nice nail salon. The staff here is very polite and tailors everything to your needs. I got a pedicure here over a week ago and it is still looking pretty fabulous. Price here seems to be WAY cheaper than ones I've been to, at least. $25 for a pedicure with a foot and leg massage? Yes please! Manicure was not good; my nails were totally chipped within hours. I got a pedicure and 3 of my toenails were not totally painted. It's almost funny to think I paid for both my nails and toes to look pretty bad. They seemed like nice people but I did not enjoy my experience. read more

Absolutely amazing! We just moved to boulder and I feel really lucky to have tried this place first - because i never want to go anywhere else! The staff is super friendly and VERY good at what they do. I've been to fancy nail places that cost double what this place charges and don't to half as good of job. The pedicure was great. My only real complaint was that the techs didn't talk to me much at all. I know sometimes we don't want all the small talk, but after my toes were done the lady walked away and started doing someone else's toes. So I sat and wondered "should I tell her I need to pay? Should I wait?" They seem like nice people and they do a great job, but they need to work on customer service I think. read more

Not only is the environment at City Nails gross and small, it's always filled with women working who could care less about the job they're doing. While I was trying to get my nails done, they were more interested in watching Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil. I felt as if it was totally unprofessional and poor quality work. Kim is wonderful! She is so kind and really takes her time when doing your nails. She helps decide which color would look good on you, and always accommodates to your schedule. it was the worst experience I have ever had. I went to city nails with me and 3 of my other family members all to get pedicures and to get our nails done. after the lady took an hour and a half for my pedicure, which looks like a 5 year old did it, I went to get dip on my nails. I had asked for a pink color and it ended up being red. during the middle of the dip process i had asked why it was so dark and the lady said "it would lighten up after the top coat was applied", which never happened. they were going to let my cousin leave with color all over her fingers until she asked them to clean it up. I have been forced to believe that all of the nail polish they use is past due date since all it did was clump up on all of our toes. I would suggest not going to city nails. read more

The owner Kim did my nails again, crooked, not polished in cat eye form the way polish is supposed to be painted (with a magnet), and talked through me the entire hour in Vietnamese. So rude. I went here a few months ago, but it STILL fires me up thinking about my experience. I went here for a second time and thought it would be better than the first. I was so wrong. My friend and I, both college students, wanted to get our nails done. My friend got us an appointment for the both of us, and we showed up 5 minutes before. We walked in and they made us wait at least 20-25 minutes with an appointment. They finally got us in a chair, and they started on my friends nails while I waited for probably another 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, during the whole time we were there, they started doing other people's (women who clearly older adults) nails who had just walked-in no appointment. They finally started my nails (filing/ clipping) and then abruptly stopped when another woman came in. They immediately saw to her (again I had probably been there for over an hour). To say the least, I was pissed. My friend and I abruptly stood up and paid the minimum amount and left. I understand we are college students, but it wasn't like I was getting some cheap service. I was getting dip + tips, so obviously it was preferential treatment to the women who were older than me. Be warned college students!!! You will not be treated well here. read more

Went in for a pedicure. Made an appointment ahead of time. Took over an hour because they seemed to be focusing on everyone but me. A lady walks in and DEMANDS that her hands and feet are done at the same time, so they drop everything and focus on that bitch. Which leaves me sitting waiting on them for 30 minutes. It's always hard moving to a new town and away from all the people who take care of you. I tried several nail salons in Boulder and was happy to finally find Kim. She's super friendly, always asks about my daughter and life. Hard working and doing a great job. Winter in CO always makes my feet so dry and she makes them happy again. I don't mind the Vietnamese convo, these ladies work long hours, nothing wrong with enjoying each other's company imho. read more

Absolutely loved this place! The owner did a fantastic job on my nails and was extremely gentle when removing my acrylic nails. She truly cared about my nail health and recommended solutions to fix my nails. Her customer service was amazing and she was so sweet! I love this place. I come in here all the time to get my nails done and eyebrows waxed. In fact, I don't trust anyone else anymore to wax my eyebrows- Kim does a beautiful job. I've never had any problems getting in, though sometimes they can be quite busy. The prices are relatively low, they are very efficient and clean. I'll never go anywhere else. read more

I love this place. It was recently remodeled, with nice massaging pedicure seats. What I like best, though, is that I have been doing acrylic nails and they always do a wonderful job. I've had the nails for a few months now, and I have never broken a nail. They are always careful to do a great job, so I won't go anywhere else. Plus, the convenience is great -- nearby to everything -- and the prices are reasonable. read more

The pedicure I got was just the worst. I spent $25 on a pedicure that took about 7 minutes, start to finish. I can still see my old nail polish through my new polish.. I would have been better off splashing water on my feet and painting my toes myself. read more
