We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday while visiting a friend in town. The restaurant is very clean and bright. We tried the buttermilk chicken sandwich and the cheese curd appetizer. Both were very, very good. The chicken sandwich was moist, crunchy, and flavorful. The fries, although they are served in a weird cone thing, are crispy and delicious. The views of the golf course and outdoor seating area are beautiful. However, our issue came with the service. When we arrived, the hostess offered us indoor or outdoor seating. We said we'd like outdoor. She said the only tables available were in direct sunlight and if we wanted to wait for something else, it would be a half hour. We agreed to wait. We went outside to the patio to wait and saw multiple tables open not in direct sunlight. In addition, we passed a nearly empty dining room full of empty tables where we could have been seated. After a full half hour wait, we were seated outside in one of the empty, non-direct sun, tables that were open the entire half hour we were waiting. Ridiculous. read more

We had a group of 10, 1:00 reservation was not available but 12:30 was. We took the 12:30 reservation, hurried to get there after graduation only to wait over an hour and half for food. Were given the excuse that because we were a big group food took longer. The appetizer were good, food was ok, my mom ordered pizza with roasted vegetables and "little sausage " the pizza was mostly sausage and hardly any vegetables. Salad with chicken had little dressing and was the last dish to come out. The two slice of bread that came with the fish and chips was frozen together. I really should have given it two stars. read more

I had no idea what to expect, and I was blown away. The atmosphere at the restaurant and quality of service was tops. The menu had lots of interesting offerings. I went with the toasted vegetable salad...it was great. Do not miss this restaurant when you're in SP. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Stevens Point. Been visiting this area for a number of years now and had limited success finding a good restaurant. Got advice from locals to check this place out and wasn't disappointed. Walking in we thought we'd be underdressed but since it's connected to tennis courts we grew more comfortable. Decor is modern repurposing vibe that is very comfortable. Enjoyed the bar area with lots of tvs and a view of the golf course. It was March so the patio wasn't open but have heard this is a great place to hang out on a nice summer evening. Food was good and relatively inexpensive for what you get. We would have priced this place a few dollars more per entree had it been in a larger city. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in the Stevens Point area. Hoping to play some golf here as well. read more

Tried to get a drink after a round of golf at PJs and the service was horrendous took almost 20 minutes to get a wait staff and then another 15 minutes and we still had no drink and ended up getting up and leaving very disappointed read more

My wife and I meet another couple here for lunch. Never having been here I have to say the whole building was super impressive. It made me want to work for Sentry Inurance. We just happened to pick to eat here on a day when they were having some sort of run in the golf course so we had about a 40 minute wait for lunch. Normally I would have been annoyed by this but the building was so cool and the had such a comfortable sitting area to wait in. Once it was our turn to be seated our very friendly hostess took us to our table. The inside of the restaurant was very cool to, like I stated earlier it is just a cool building. And even with as busy as they were they waitress showed up promptly and was very friendly as well. The menu had a nice selection. We ordered the cheese platter for an app, I got a burger and my wife ordered a blt. I am going to go into detail on everything because everything we had was amazing. So as you can tell we loved this place, how much did we love it? We almost ended up going back there again later in the day for dinner but decided that would be weird and decided to try someplace else since we had never been to Stevens Point before. read more

I've eaten at PJ's roughly 8 times since it opened, and they have yet to wow me. About last night: My Mac and cheese was not only tasteless, it was dry shell noodles with a watery substance at the bottom of the dish which was supposed to be the cheese sauce. It was "edible" if you were to force me to eat it. My friend ordered the curry dish. She said it was not a pleasant experience. I didn't try it so I cannot say more. The restaurant was very busy, so I will assume that is the reason we rarely saw our waitress. Yes I told her the food was bad she offered to get me something else, but it was late and my appetite was ruined. I drank alcohol instead. I was charged the full amount for the noodles. In this particular case, I view that as theft. I will steer clear of PJ's as the food is typically disappointing and this was the nail in the coffin. read more

Went to PJ's tonight for the first time and all I can say is WOW! They didn't disappoint. The food was delicious - no complaints whatsoever. The atmosphere is upscale, but not so upscale that it feels stuffy or uncomfortable. The menu has a good selection of items to choose from. Service was on point (our server Ryan really took care of us). The restaurant/building itself is beautiful and definitely makes an impression the minute you drive into the parking lot. Can't wait to some back again soon. read more

Love it. Favorite restaurant in town. Get the cheese curds. And the bacon Bloody Mary.

Amazing waitress, very nice and the food was out extremely fast. Amazing food, there is no kids menus but there is child-like stuff, Mac n cheese, Blt, ect. I recommend this place to people!! read more

A lunch group of four were here July 16th. We had enjoyed lunch here several times in the past years. Three of us ordered the basil tomato soup. It tasted like lukewarm Ragu pasta sauce, inedible and the saltiness were soggy and very stale. The same three people ordered salads that were supposed to have goat cheese. They came with flecks of cheese, not crumbles, and no dressing. We asked for dressing and bread or rolls at extra cost. We were told they only had hamburger buns or rye bread. The person next to me had the fish fry and the smell of old fish was overwhelming. This was not the PJ's we had experienced in the past and will not want to come to in the future. The single waitress was very good but ver busy trying to serve the few patrons. read more

We love Pjs. The atmosphere is terrific and the restaurant layout and decor is first rate. In winter, with the fire pits outside, the place is cozy and welcoming. The food? Well it's good but could be and should be better. My airline chicken came on a plate that looked like the kitchen had just thrown it together. Chicken, a spoonful of risotto and a single broccoli sprout with some sauce on one side of the dish. My wife's pastrami sandwich was over salted as were her fries. The service was slow and forgetful. The waiter seemed New and untrained. We had a good time nonetheless and will certainly be back but management needs to pay more attention to the kitchen and waitstaff and get this place from a 6 or7 up to a 10 on our opinion. read more

Service was great! Food was good. Loved the building architecture and decor. The outside was beautifully landscaped.

The Best darn Pizza in town! Their food is amazing, however I keep coming back for their Pizza. If they had more toppings such as pineapple I would have more to say. All of their toppings are fresh, and their food is some of the best in town. read more

Nice setting on the Sentry World grounds. I expected more of a Country Club atmosphere but PJ's is more casual and relaxed. Prices are closer to a Country Club though. Not overly thrilled with the fish and chips, they came served in a cone with no plate which made it a finger food experience. No staff around after our food was delivered to even ask for a plate. That arrangement made for soggy fries and sticky fingers. read more

I absolutely love coming to PJ's! I couldn't even tell you how many times my husband and I have been here since it opened up. You just can't beat the prices or the atmosphere here. They also make fabulous drinks (especially old fashioneds) and have a wonderful beer selection. Our favorite appetizer is their local cheese board. It's different every time we come and it's always delicious. It comes with three different cheeses, as well as a jam with bread, usually some sort of pickled vegetable and pumpkin seeds. They really do a nice job on it! (The meat board is the same except..well..with meat.) Their pizzas are delicious. We really liked their taco pizza with fish. I never thought I would enjoy a pizza with fish on it...but it was so good! I can't remember which night that's a special, though. Thursday's special of wood oven pot roast is by far my favorite special. It is so tasty and filling. The rest of the specials are good, they just aren't as knock-your-socks-off good as Thursday night's. (My husband's favorite is the grilled pork chop.) I am very picky about my salads, but I love their spinach salad. It's a really tasty, huge salad. I added chicken to it and couldn't finish the whole thing (and I have a rather large appetite). Their desserts are wonderful, too. I love their apple pie and local fruit cobbler (it changes seasonally and was always delicious.) I would also like to say, that my husband and I came here for their Valentine's Day special and we really enjoyed it! They did a very nice job on the decorations and we really enjoyed the menu. We both had the trout and as our entree and loved it. Hopefully they run this special next year! read more

This restaurant was previously called "Sport Plate" and is part of SentryWorld: Complete with golf, tennis, volleyball and a wedding/banquet facility. The restaurant and entire SentryWorld complex has been rebuilt with a unique and thoughtful design that is impressive. The food here is as good as the atmosphere. PJ's has a stone oven (you know, really really hot) and the pizza is the best around thanks to the varied and delicious veggies featured (which change depending on what is available). The bar is cool and has enough beer selection even for your beer snob buddy who only drinks locally brewed IPAs. Check it out if you are in the area or just passing through. Take the time to find it it will be well worth your effort. Be wary of busy Friday nights however. Since there are no reservations you may find it difficult to get a table in a timely manner. read more

I can't complain overly much. This place is gorgeous - it really is. The new(ish) renovation was tastefully done and it's just..it's beautiful. We went in a bit later (7:00ish) on a Saturday night. Had about a 10-15 minute wait which wasn't bad. What sort of killed it for us was the service-I'm not sure if the guy was new or overwhelmed, but it took about 15 minutes to get our initial order of drinks. And the next order of drinks? About 20 minutes. We sat near the blackboard where they list the specials for the day, and I watched as about every 3-5 minutes they walked over and erased things from said board. Their oven was broken so no pizza or veggies that night. The chef's special was "all out," so we couldn't try that either. It was disappointing, but I will definitely go back to give them another shot. Hey! We all have off nights! Their fries were fantastic!!! UPDATE: Came back and tried PJ's again and it was great! The long islands were the best I've ever had and the pizza was fantastic! The cheese curds appetizers were the best I've ever had as wel, hands down! To make it even better, we sat out by the fire pit and enjoyed a few more drinks....its was absolutely great. A very good night! The prices here aren't bad..I'm honestly surprised they don't charge more considering how beautiful this place is. I will for sure be back and have already spread the word to friends and family to give this place a go! read more

Drinks here are a 5 star. Food here unfortunately is a 2 at best. Order friday fish fry walleye. Three pieces the size of a small perth and Luke warm. Flavor iffy. Coleslaw not worth eating. Baked potato was luke warm. Wife had surf and turf. It came cold, I mean really cold like it came out of the refrigerator. Had to send it back. They must have tried to heat it up in microwave because it came back fast and only a little warm. Flavors were not as good as it should be. Decided to give up and bring it home to warm up in the oven and add some spices. Very disappointed. Beautiful, beautiful, place but the food sucks. Will come back here for drinks only in the future. Skip the food. McDonalds might be better read more

We were traveling through Stevens point on our way back from Thanksgiving celebration. I use yelp very often and this place seems like it had good reviews. What a gem! We had the cheese curds as an appetizer and they were excellent. My husband had the beer cheese soup and Reuben and the kids had macaroni and cheese. These kids like nothing but Kraft! But They were in love with this homeade Mac n cheese! My made to order woodfire pizza was great. The only complaint and posswas that they did not provide us with a drink menu. After my husband had ordered a beer, I saw somebody come out with a beer flight which would've been nice. The facility is absolutely beautiful. A few tennis courts there which we stopped and watched for a little bit. read more

Had dinner at PJ's in the past and have been happy. Last night...not so much. Food was Ok. Atmosphere was nice. Host was cool. Waitress not so good. Plus, on top of it, because there was two groups of 4(8) people, the check came back with gratuity added automatically. At 20%. This is the rub. I am a very fair tipper. But our waitress was not friendly to me or my family. And, if you expect me to tip 20%, you better be friendly. A suggestion to the restaurant: Let the customer decide what to tip. I can tell you that my experience will be shared with a few folks. Disappointed. read more

We went mid day for pizza and a drink. We sat outside which was nice. The pretzel appetizer we ordered was unavailable, but they had a replacement that was almost as good. The service was slow, but we were seated a bit far away so maybe that explains some of it. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni and jalapeno, and a pizza with pepperoni and green peppers showed up. When I told the server, she nonchalantly said "huh, it must have went in the system wrong." That was it. No offer to make it right, or even an apology. The pizza was still good. The price was decent. I think we'll be going elsewhere for a while though, where they actually give a care about getting the customer what they've ordered. read more

I've been here twice now and both times I really enjoyed it .the food is really good the atmosphere to me is one of the best around which is relaxing and casual. I would've given it five stars but the wait was about an hour long and that's only because they get good business. Finally call me cheap but I think $4.50 for a glass of beer is a bit too high and I don't care if it's a specialty beer. Other than that I'll go back there again read more

The atmosphere is very "Wisconsin", there are hints of vintage dairy farm in the artwork and decor. But it also has a really cool modern swing to it! The food is your typical American cuisine (nothing overly unique), however they put a twist on it! Each week they have a special loaded up macaroni which has yet to do me wrong. The prices are really reasonable. The wait staff are friendly and timely. read more

Friday fish to go. $13 for a fish fry. However do not order the additional items with your baked potato, the cheese and the bacon, all extra $! You get the standard three piece cod, one baked potato, coleslaw and a bun. It was good however nothing to write home about!! I did have a beer while I waited which was a Lake Louie Warped Speed, a Scottish ale which was very good and on tap! The only thing that really impressed me was the take-home container which was a pre-folded light weight card board box that opened up flat! Take note, the coleslaw was not in a container and so the juices from the slaw was all over the inside! read more

Good food, excellent place, BUT the management is too cheap to hire adequate staff. As a result, one can't order food at the bar, or at the lounge. Want to watch a football game? Well tough luck, can't have food with your game because the manager would not allow the servers to serve food at the bar or the lounge. Want food? you shall wait for the table, and when you get it , you can't see your team, because the TV screens are at the bar and the lounge. Cheap, cheap management spoils it all at the time when their profits are at the highest in recorded history. Do you really want to do your business with Sentry? Maybe. Maybe not. Is the food good? Yes, you just cant have the ball with it... As of 8.42.PM, almost 2 hours after walking in to PJ's still not a single waiter asking about my needs (FYI, just plain food).
