I won't be going back as long as the older man in the overalls works there. We live 3 blocks away & not only do my husband & I go at least once a day, I'm a tour guide & send my guests there for refreshments after my tours. I own PJs shirts, cups, & you know that little display with pecan-themed merchandise that was inside to support the little girl's business endeavors? My binders all have her stickers on them. The other morning I was visiting with my husband & tried to use my tour guide discount for a drink & snack on my way to work. The man in the overalls made me feel like a sneaky, greedy thief. He rounded on me & demanded to know what refreshments were mine. In front of other customers, too. He wasn't even the person ringing me up! He had me tell him what company I work for, whether I was about to do a tour (my license was on the counter so I clearly wasn't lying). Then fussed at the other employee to make sure it was only my stuff that was getting the discount (it was), as my husband was with me. My husband doesn't use my discount!!! Needless to say, I didn't use my discount either & never will again. We won't be stopping by anymore. My tour guests will now be directed to Avenue Cafe or French Truck. If he treats guides like that, how is he to regular customers? Sorry, PJs...but after 6 years of faithfulness, my heart is broken. Oh! One last thing: Anytime I used my discount, I would put the money I saved in the gratuity container. It literally pays to be kind, doesn't it? read more

The PJs on Magazine Street is my favorite location. Hot, iced and the granita coffees are good and not bitter. The croissant like beignets are in my top 3 favs. I always stop in on my way to Turkey and the Wolf or afterwards. PJs is always on my to do list each time I'm in NOLA. read more

This was the first stop on a beignet tour i did and it set the tone perfectly. I got an iced coffee blended vanilla drink and it was just what i wanted. Perfect flavor and ice consistency. Beignets were TO DIE FOR! GET THEM! do the shake and enjoy. Mmmm mmm. For sure come here and try it. It's a neighborhood staple and still family owned. Got scammed out of $23! Ordered beignets for out of town guests. $23 payment was accepted & was given a pickup time and order number. However when I attempted to pick up, I was told that their "beignet machine doesn't work after 6pm" & that they "never received" the order. I was denied a refund and told to "dispute the online app". If their beignet machine truly doesn't "work after 6pm", they shouldn't allow online orders for that item. Pick-up was at 6:33pm, ordered well before closing time. Literally the only coffee shop i have ever been to that refused to make a shaken espresso (a menu item) because it would "take too long" after having already rejected making another drink for the same reason. I literally come all the time and this has never been an issue until they changed baristas. Shaken espresso takes like 2 minutes to make. Its a coffee shop. read more

The worker on Saturday June 10th at 9:32 am was very unsanitary! There is a dog in here, the dog jumped on the counter and he put my ham and Swiss croissant on the counter in the exact spot where the dog jumped. I had my hand out and he still put in in the same area where the dog was! After that, he rubbed the dog and then put my beignets in the oven! That was very nasty! Maybe y'all should have some sort of training! I don't do animals! I wish I could give 0 stars! I keep giving this place try after try after try and they always fail me read more

We were visiting from out of town and this coffee joint was just down the road from our place. Such a morning treat! The coffee was delicious and the baristas were super kind and helpful. Definitely gives that local New Orleans coffee shop vibe. My only area of improvement is the cleanliness could be better. Even just to have a company come in a give it a thorough deep cleaning would do a lot of good! That being said... still went every day we were there for the great service and great coffee! read more

The woman behind the counter was running it by herself, answering questions, warming beignets, crafting drinks and was pleasant and friendly throughout. She would also ensure that the right person collected their order, basically handing it to them. It took a little bit maybe 6 min with 2 people in front of me but did I mention, she was running the store by herself?!! On a Sunday morning no less. Outstanding service. I loved the beignets here and the Green Tea Mojito I had was PERFECT!! Service was just OK guy at counter had a bit of an attitude. There was a woman there on drugs which affected the ambiance a bit but she wasn't bothering anyone so no complaints just something I thought I'd mention. This is a pretty good PJ's with a friendly staff. I love the fact that it's big and the windows let in a lot of natural light. I ordered my regular large iced coffee and it was good, but I think that the half and half I added to it was off. It had an odd taste, so I blame the add-in. There are plenty of big tables so that you can sit and do work and, of course, the wi-fi is free. This wouldn't be my first choice for a NOLA PJ's, mainly because there's a sketchy gas station across the street, but it gets the job done if you're in the area. read more

First time trying PJ'S Coffee. I try to stay away from chains if possible, but PJ's was hard to ignore. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE LOL. Stopped in and at first thought I couldn't get inside with my wheelchair because only one door would open. The batista quickly came to unlock and help with the second door. I ordered a praline latte. The flavor profile was spot on and I would definitely recommend. Only gave 4 stars because they need more help. The line was steadily building behind us with only 1 employee(which also isn't safe imo), but overall great experience. read more

PJ's Coffee & Tea is New Orleans' answer to Starbucks. That being said, I'm more of a fan of Starbucks coffee over PJ's. Maybe it's because I'm from Seattle or maybe it's because the coffee was so-so. We ordered an iced and hot vanilla late. The iced was super sweet, in a good way, and the hot seemed to need a little sweetness. The coffee was good. Nothing special. What I did like about this location is that is off of Bourbon Street, which is pretty boisterous, and it was pretty well insulated from the sound. It was a good place to take a break relax. I come here almost every weekday. It started as a morning pick-me-up but has since evolved into a ritual. It's not just the caffeine boost I look forward to, but the staff is great. 99% of the time, I see one of the same two faces waiting for me when I walk in, and I really enjoy this staff! Folks are always in and out, but there are a handful of us who like to sit for a while and just enjoy the gentle buzz of our coffees + the morning crowd. I enjoy a black cold brew -- normally just the slightest bit sweet, yet unsweetened. Rarely burnt like those other big coffee people. The regular granita is another favorite when I wanna punch things up. Put in your phone number in the machine, earn points per purchase, redeem for a freebie down the road. Anyway, I love the coffee, love the atmosphere, love the people who work here! Thanks, y'all! read more

I felt every guilty stopping in here to get a drink instead of Starbucks but I'm glad I did. We went in two times while vacationing in NOLA and i got the Peach Palmer both times. It is sweet and absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly and the store is designed quite nicely with little touches of NOLA in the displays of local art. read more

Love the location, and the decor. We were skeptical about this location since there was another (that we loved) close by at The Saulet, but apparently that one closed in favor of this one. The spot is beautiful, they've preserved the location with the whole "shabby chic" that gives this town it's flavor. The snacks are tasty and they've got lots of stuff for sale in a non-obtrusive way. The coffee is problematic though. On a hot day there's nothing I love more than a nice icy granita, but the espresso is just left outside all day. They don't make it fresh. There's just a pot sitting there. Espresso goes bad in like, a few minutes. Accordingly, the coffee just tastes bad. It was never as good as the Saulet location and I don't see that anything has changed since they opened, so I'm disappointed. This neighborhood is drowning in coffee shops so they're going to have to step up their game if they want this location to be a success. read more

This PJ's is across the street from the Hop on/Hop off bus stop #11. I jumped off here because I was parched and headed over to PJ's. The inside is nice and clean and the A/C was workin' real good. I've never seen Nitro coffee before, so of course, I had to try it. Although it is more expensive than an iced coffee, I would say it is a better deal because it is really cold without any ice so you get more for your money. The nitro coffee lived up to its marketing...creamy, cold, and smooth. Like a non-alcoholic Guinness almost. The barista was friendly and gave me some good recommendations for lunch in the area. read more

The interior is an Alice in Wonderland full of whimsy, interesting art and beautifully designed decor that screams fun. Just like on my first JazzFest in 1987 an elderly man with one tooth in his mouth ambled up to me and said "if you can't have fun in New Orleans, you ain't got a pulse" My friend and I ordered the following Gris Gris with espresso: gris gris banana brown sugar gelato, praline rum ball, brûléed banana, caramel rum drizzle, cinnamon dust, espresso boozy version option: spiced rum evo drizzle option: koroneiki It was delicious and was a perfect ending after we had a great meal. The line was 10-12 people deep but to me that just meant it is that good. We ended up waiting around 15 minutes to order but it was worth it. I got a latte and the sausage quiche which was delicious. There are a few tables inside which is so cute and we were able to find a nice cozy spot by the window to enjoy. If it were a warmer day we would have also loved to sit in the court yard. Overall 5/5 stars!
