Mammoth Espresso is a quaint coffee shop with a cozy interior, perfect for a quick drink or a place to chat and relax. I ordered the cinnamon toast latte, which had a decent cinnamon flavor; my only feedback is it was not as sweet as I'd like it to be. Still was a decent drink and I'd probably return to try the rest of their menu.
This place is such a gem. Parking is a bit of a challenge and seating is limited (though I hear an expansion across the hall is in the works!), but the coffee is worth every bit of the hassle. If you aren't a fan of super sugary drinks, just ask for their signatures "half sweet." They still come out absolutely delicious!
While visiting New Orleans I was in search of coffee and came to Mammoth Espresso. I decided to try the cinammamoth latte. Essentially, an iced latte with the milk being soaked in cinnamon toast crunch. I usually don't try anything other than an iced latte in fear it's too sweet but this was just perfect. My partner had an iced latte and that was also really tasty. I came a total of 3x over my time in New Orleans and each time it was delicious and well balanced. The coffee shop is small and quaint. Staff is friendly. Prices are good. Good amount of seating inside and out. I also tried their chocolate croissant which was top notch. If it gets busy, there might be a little bit of a wait but honestly worth it. Would definitely come back whenever visiting the city again!
If you are a high end coffee lover, you will love this place. It is minimalist in menu and decor, with quality ingredients. They have a tiny little pastry case, so this is definitely more a place for coffee than breakfast. My partner loved the cold brew, but I found it too sour.
If you like cozy decor and fun shirts, this is the place for you. It makes a big impact on coffee aficionados. If you are in town I recommend swinging by this cute coffee shop. It casts a wide net of coffee options for many people. The staff was friendly and hip. You could tell it would be popular based on the line, you could say it was as big as a mammoth I got the cinnamon toast crunch drink and it tasted like the cereal we know and love
I vacationed to New Orleans and had to get my fix of high quality coffee. I'd consider myself a bit of a coffee snob (in the kindest way); I make my own espresso at home and have tried tons of different coffee roasters over the last few years, so third wave coffee is something I seek out and thoroughly enjoy. I did my research ahead of time and Mammoth came highly regarded. The store itself is seemingly a one-person operation, but I visited at off hours, so it wasn't busy and I didn't have to wait long for my coffee. Seating was limited, but I was still able to snag a seat. I got myself a cortado (my go-to) and it was delicious. Having passed the taste test, I went ahead and purchased some of their coffee beans and a shirt, too (they have really awesome merch!). I'll keep Mammoth on my list for future visits and encourage any locals or visitors to pop in for coffee that's significantly better than any chain.
I am not sure what is going on here, but it took nearly 20 minutes to make a latte and there was no one in front of it. We can here about 2 months ago on a Saturday, there were a few people in the cafe. But no one ordered right before us and it took an unreasonable amount of time for that latte. I ordered an affogato and it came out within a few minutes. And the man behind the counter was really nice about it and even recommended that I try one of the signature nitro drinks with added honey and the ice cream, so I did. I did enjoy the honey, I think it was homemade, but it had an odd taste. When the latte finally came out, it was sort of basic, nothing fantastic. The space is like a business space, if there was a coffee break room inside a cubical office. Not a lot of ambience here. Little bits of flare, but not much. If you want a fun coffee shop, I'd recommend Commons Club's funny library - it is very insta worthy.
Cute, small coffee shop. Wished they had more seating, quiet area at least when we went. The barista had a great personality and helped us with our drinks. The coffee might've been too strong for me (I do like my coffee) but this one tasted a bit off for me. My sister said the same thing as well. Wished they had more seasonal or speciality drinks (those are my favorite). Would I go back? No. A place to try out for the first time? Yes.
This place takes their coffee very seriously! Their menu is expansive and they ship all their beans in from Colombia. My favorite was the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte. The service was great, the baristas are very passionate, and the place is designed very clean cut and minimalistic. This place is worth the hype!
Extremely smooth espresso, timely service. I ordered a flat white and it was delicious, the milk art was a nice touch.
Mammoth has some of the best beans in the city. The baristas are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The menu is also approachable and has options for those looking for a unique pour over, interesting signature drink, or something more traditional. My favorite is the New Old Fashion!
I stayed there for a couple of hours with an iced Americano. The taste was okay, but I expected it to be more flavorful, given that it seems like people are so amazed by their coffee. There aren't so many seats inside, so I guess it might be somewhat difficult to find a place for longtime working during rushing hours.
I had a very pleasant cup of Columbia El Eden espresso here - probably the best that I've had this year. Sweet and flavorful, served with soda water. We also got a nitro cold brew to go which is good. Overall, a very cute snd memorable coffee shop + coffee roaster for me.
This place is definitely a spot for the specialty coffee enthusiast, as well as those who like the sweeter things. For me, though, my measure of a great coffee shop is: "how's the espresso?" and by that, I mean, straight espresso, nothing added. We ended up visiting Mammoth both before and after our recent cruise, so two visits in eight days, and both times were great. Moving inside the space, the main part of the cafe is modest in size and, as others have mentioned, fairly minimalist in decor, but that's just fine with me. Each day sees at least two espresso choices, some or all of which will be a single origin. I just ordered one of each espresso and when they reached for a sparkling water glass for each, I explained that they were both for me, so I just needed one. I chatted with the barista briefly about the coffees, too. On the first visit, the choices were their house "Workhorse" blend, Double Trouble, and a bright washed Ethiopian, Teferi Kela. The former was a comfortable blend of Brazil and Colombian sourced beans, with more of the chocolate and caramel flavors but a nice hint of citrus as well. The Taferi Kela was definitely acid forward (in a good way) with bright orange citrus and baking spices dominating. On our second visit, it was an Aponte honey process (which I was familiar with from other roasters), and an excellent Colombian washed anaerobic, Rosados Del Sur. The latter was very fruit forward, with grapefruit and strawberry notes really shining, with a nice acid "tang" as well. The Aponte, while good, was a bit more muted in flavor, and when I mentioned it to the barista, she admitted that they were having trouble with that grinder and she wasn't getting the results she was hoping for that day. Still, it was nice. My experiences here were great, and I'll be sure to visit again anytime I'm in NOLA. If you want the true specialty coffee experience, this is the place. read more

Cool little spot with really good, high end coffee. They have a small menu and perfected it. Their baristas really know what they are doing. The ambiance is cool with seating inside the shop as well as in the hall of the main building they are in. read more

Visited this place last summer and to this day, I still daydream about their cardamom cookie. It's not your ordinary cookie. It's like a chewy ginger cookie with a crispy crust. It's a bpugie cookie. If I ever make it back to NOLA, I'm definitely going back for this. The coffees are good too. Wakes you up. They had a sign that said "the coffee your parents warned you about." Anyway, try it and tell me all about it. read more

Cute little spot, very friendly baristas, and the cardamom latte was delicious. It made for a peaceful work/ study environment. read more
Open every day at 7 a.m., this Warehouse District specialty coffee roaster is how I wish every specialty latte tastes. Their cinnamon French toast latte wasn't too sweet, allowing the quality of the coffee and flavors to stand out. My wife enjoyed her cardamom latte and our daughter LOVED the "Everything Is Awesome" drink just for kids (steamed milk dyed blue with vanilla and Lucky Charm marshmallows on top). If you like coffee tonics, order the "New" Old Fashioned. The cafe itself is designed well with seats inside, in the outdoor hallway, and outside. Service was friendly and efficient. read more
Nice little coffee spot. We popped in here to get out of the rain while we were waiting to get into Bearcat. They only have small sized coffees but still very expensive. I decided to get the Cinnamon Toast Crunch coffee. They soak the milk in the cereal and then use it to make coffee. Pretty good; however, no milk alternatives for this specific drink. read more

I wont be returning. I dont know if I went on a bad day or this is how it usually is but the coffee tasted like warm pizza red sauce in a cup. I couldn't even finish it without gagging, my friend agreed with sentiment that it tasted like red sauce. I paid upwards for $9 for this coffee as well (including a $1 tip) and it was no bigger than the palm of my hand. The parking is a nightmare as well. So disappointing, I was really looking forward to trying this place. read more
Cute little coffee spot! I opted for a cortado and it was pretty tasty. The espresso tasted a bit on the burned side, but overall still good! The chocolate croissant was incredibly divine and I would love to have that again! Overall, great experience. read more

Beautiful little coffee shop! We strolled in because we were staying right across the street, love the walkable area all around here! We got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch iced latte which my daughter loved! It was creamy and sweet and did taste just like the cereal! I got a cappuccino which was perfect, great flavor and I added a touch of sugar and yum, delicious! We got an everything bagel pastry like a croissant stuffed with cream cheese also very tasty, eating in their cute shop with plants all around, made me happy! read more

Although this is my first review, I've been to mammoth several times within the last few years. The coffee and vibe are consistent. The shop is very cute, there aren't a lot of seats inside as it's very quaint, but there's outdoor seating too for overflow. They have a very clean restroom, good music, coffee beans for sale, and apparel. The service is good & fast too. I have no complaints & will continue to pop by! read more
Strolling along the West Side (I think) in search of that afternoon jolt, the pink chairs beckoned and the coffee didn't disappoint at Mammoth. Yes Mammoth stands for an overwhelming menu, but stick with it and the helpful baristas will explain anything for us pedestrian amateurs. I played it safe with the Cafe Au Lait. I believe this is coffee with "lait". In other words, hot milk. See, those friendly baristas would help you not feel like a moron for not knowing that "In Europe, café au lait stems from the same continental tradition as caffè latte". My daughter would promptly order the iced coffee, but not me. 95-degree day? I'm getting something hot. And this Au Lait was perfectly crafted, perfectly temperatured, perfectly presented, you're getting the point? I enjoyed my beverage in those pink chairs out front briefly before the trek back to reality. Too bad I couldn't try a scone or galette this time; I was saving carbs for some high-eatin' later in the day. Mammoth also means over-the-top attention to detail, so you won't get that speedy drive-through assembly line drink, but it will be perfectly completed with high standards. So take a breath and enjoy. Always several varieties of filter coffee for the less-craftie days, and I'll return as soon as possible for another Mammoth experience. read more
Mammoth is a great coffee shop! The space is cozy and really nice. The staff was friendly, as well. Perhaps most importantly, the coffee was some of the best I had while exploring the New Orleans specialty coffee scene; especially in terms of preparation! Cortados are always my go-to to gauge a shop, since it's often hard for too many baristas to get the milk temperature and texture right in smaller drinks, and a poor shot isn't masked with the small amount of milk. Well, the barista behind bar at Mammoth made a PERFECT cortado! The drink was ready to drink immediately, with a nice espresso shot, and a perfect texture (and clean latte art as a bonus)! I also had to try a shot of their single origin that was on bar, which also seemed to be prepared really well. The nice staff, and well-prepared drinks made with quality coffee in a chill environment, means I've found my go-to coffee shop the next time in New Orleans! Definitely check it out! read more

My friend and I were visiting Nola for the weekend. And stumbled upon this coffee shop that was down the street from our hotel. We didn't try any food because we were headed to brunch, but we did get a few drinks. She got a latte while I opted for a cortado. Service was friendly and fast. I love the ambiance of the shop. Plants and natural light shining through. Great music playing. Plenty of seating inside and outside. And additional tables on the street. Definitely recommend! read more
Happenstance brought me here and I'm so glad it did. I had sometime in between meetings and was looking for a quiet spot to get some work done. I intended to go to another coffee shop in the area, but while walking I came across this one which was several blocks closer to where my next meeting was and decided to try it out. When you walk in, you first hit a hallway and the actual coffee shop is off to the side. It sort of looks like it could be an office building with multiple suites. It's extremely cute on the inside--perfect mix of old and new. When I visit a coffee shop, if the music is right I could for sure pass some time there and the playlist here was perfect. A good mix of old and new hip hop, but of the chill variety, so it wasn't too distracting. The baristas were friendly and gave good suggestions for drinks since it was my first time in. I opted for an iced tea. I wanted it sweetened with honey, but they didn't have any which I thought was a little odd, but I enjoyed my drink regardless. They have large windows so there's lots of natural light which I love. It was pretty quiet for the most part for the hour or so that I was there. They had a few groups come in, but mostly just folks grabbing and going even though there's plenty of seating if you wanted to stay a while and the wi-fi is solid. I did peep on my way out that they appear to be expanding to the suite directly across the hall, so I'm excited to see what that will look like. read more
