As far as neighborhood Italian joints go this place is a gem. I've had better Italian food but I've paid a lot more for it. Besides Italian food shouldn't be expensive.... it's pasta and sauces. But Italian food should be cooked with care and Pizzuto's does that very well. I suggest: -Try the meatballs. Seriously, they are excellent. -Order wine, bottles that cost $30 here cost $60 downtown -Try the specials when available, they often highlight fresh and seasonal ingredients. -The carbonara won't do anything to lower your cholesterol but it is fabulous. -Bring kids, their meals are cheaper than McDonalds'. read more

Service was great, food great, atmosphere great... reminded me of the old Italian family restaurants I grew up with. I got the egg plant parmesan. Waitress stated it would be a while but didn't notice as they brought out bread, salad and drinks. When it came It was a huge portion and came with a side of spaghetti. When I took a bite the combination of Marinara sauce, basil, cheese and egg plant was perfect. It was so good but I couldn't finish it. My spouse got the pizza with pepperoni, artichokes, mushroom. I had a slice too and it reminded me of homemade. Delicious. We finished it off with the Tartufo. If you like hazelnuts you'll love this. We ended up taking half of the egg plant parmesan and half the pizza home So the price for a pizza, parmesan, beer, salads, bread, soda and dessert was $43. Not bad. I grew up in this neighborhood so I've been going here ever since I was little. I absolutely love the staff, the owners, and of course the food! I'm a sucker for Italian cuisine, and I love places like Tavolata, Barolo, etc., but there's just something about Pizzuto's that I absolutely adore. Maybe it's the super cute ambiance, or the warm welcome you receive when you walk in the door, or it could be that the food is just so simple and delicious. Nothing fancy, just great Italian food. When you walk in, it immediately feels like you're going to a friend's house for a dinner party. The space is warm, inviting, and super adorable. First the good - we were seated promptly on a Saturday evening and kids quickly got menus and crayons. We picked out our meals very affordable and tasty spaghetti and meatballs and cheese ravioli for the kids. A good and very inexpensive glass of red wine for me. Everything was very affordable. Now what could be improved - my chicken parmigiana was just bland. It needed something in the breading. I never add salt to my dish in a restaurant and I did so here just to get a taste. Second, it was incredibly hot in the restaurant for a rather cool day in early June. Couldn't imagine being there in the summer. And the check took forever to come as my kids got antsy. I have been to this restaurant plenty of times, but it's been a few years. I was craving really good Italian food, so I decided this was the place to go! We had reservations at 6pm for 6 and were immediately when we arrived Place wasn't all that crowded for a Saturday night, which surprised me. Service at this place is AWESOME! We all ordered our meals, I ordered the fettuccini Alfred with chicken and mushrooms, husband had the chicken parmesan, parents had the Abrutzzi ( 1/2 spaghetti, 1/2 ravioli) and friends of ours had the chicken parmesan. Our waitress brought out our salads and the BEST HOT ROLLS I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!! The salads were cold and fresh, best blue cheese dressing I have had in a long time! We only had to wait about 15 minutes for our food and it was brought to our table piping hot!! Chicken parmesan looked awesome, had a few bites from my husbands plate....amazing. Thin chicken breast coated with just enough breading and cheese, cooked perfectly. My fettuccini was good, not great. I really need a good cheesy Alfred sauce and many places it's so bland. I have yet to find an Alfred sauce I love. I was hoping I would find the perfect Alfred sauce at Pizzuto's but sadly, it wasn't . It was slightly bland, but the chicken and the mushrooms made up for it! Prices at this place were great. Fettuccini was only $17 and you get a huge portion. All of us took leftovers home!!!! I feel bad because I've been religiously been coming here for a few months (after being happily surprised at our first experience), and have not yet posted about what I would say is one of Seattle's top hidden gems. I know my way around an Italian plate of food, and I can honestly say the quality of the food this place puts out is utterly outstanding. Whether it be one of the many delicious pasta dishes to the more meat focused plates, I have not, for the most part, been disappointed with any of them. I will just say that tonight's takeaway seemed to deliver smaller portions than normal. I will chalk that up to an exceptionally busy night for cooking staff. And for those who routinely get takeout like we do, I can honestly say they have never once messed up any of our delivery orders. A feat in and of itself. Every item is always perfectly marked and packed with great care. I have been going to Pizzuto's since I was a little kid. Their food has not changed and has been consistently good for many, many years. I always order the minestrone soup but I have also tried the sausage and lentil soup which was fabulous! I hope they serve it often. After my appetizer, I usually order the spaghetti carbonara or the spaghetti with meatballs. Both dishes are flavorful. I have also tried the pesto and chicken parmesan. All the dishes I have tried were great. Pizzuto's also has fabulous dinner rolls that I find myself eating too much of before my pasta dish comes out...yum! read more

After having a birthday dinner for two at Pizzuto's, I have to say that the reviews are mostly spot-on. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan and Prawn Scampi. Positives: Casual environment, good menu variety, reasonable prices, in a quiet neighborhood setting. Negatives: Bathrooms needed a little attention (and probably some updating), parking can be a little tricky, they can be kind of stingy with bread unless you keep asking for more. Main course: Tasted great! Generous portions and had a home cooked quality we loved. Chicken Parmesan seemed to be freshly breaded, marinara was flavorful, and spaghetti was cooked perfectly. Prawn Scampi was tasty as well though we felt it suffered from too many onions. We had one meal with a salad and one with minestrone soup. The salad was fairly basic (lettuce, carrots, croutons, dressing - the Roquefort dressing is AMAZING!) but good and the minestrone was sadly kind of boring, both in flavor and ingredients. The star of the show though, honestly, was the bread! Seriously, so so good. It came out piping hot from the oven, with a crisp crust and warm, soft inside. So satisfying with some butter! It didn't last long and we were disappointed when we weren't offered more before our main dishes arrived after getting just two pieces at the start. That didn't deter us from asking for more, but it felt a bit like they complied (with two more pieces, lol) somewhat begrudgingly. It's bread! It's cheap! Be more generous with it! But it is free so can't complain too much. Drink: Soda and water. As expected. Dessert: We shared one order of tiramisu. It was unremarkable but tasted good! Service: We were sat quickly and served water immediately. Bread was slow to come, as I think it was still being baked. Our server was friendly and very helpful with menu questions and recommendations. Overall we really enjoyed our experience and meal at Pizzuto's. We look forward to a return trip to try some of the other pasta dishes as well as the pizza, which looks delicious as well! read more

Yum! My go to place when I want some Italian comfort food. Husband used to work here when he was a teenager so this place holds a special place in his heart. I like small family run places like this. They don't try to overdo it with the food, decorations or ambiance. Just good old fashioned Italian food. The staff is great and we are always greeted as soon as we walk in the door. And we always have warm bread while we wait. My usual is a salad with Roquefort dressing and the prawns pescara. Husband prefers the pizzas or the abruzzi. And I can very rarely say this about any other place, but they are so incredibly consistent with their food. I know what I'm going to get when I'm ordering it, no surprises. Amazing!! The food is so delicious and reminds me so much of what we had in Italy. Desserts are so yummy! Tiramisu is my fav and the summer lemon cello dessert is heavenly. Amazing old-school Italian restaurant with vinyl, checkered table cloths. Come hungry: the hot bread and butter is delicious, and pasta and pizza portions are generous. Staying at a Airbnb close by and this was recommended by the host. I got the Manicotti and my mother a pasta with shrimp dish with heavy garlic. They were both outstanding. The staff was friendly and the service time was as expected for a meal that was actually cooked and not heated from frozen. Highly recommend but be aware they are very popular and therefore busy. I believe they take reservations but I am not positive as we just walked in for dinner at the spur of the moment. read more

While the size of the restaurant has changed and the faces of the wait staff has changed over the years, what hasn't changed is the family feel an amazing recipes. This was my first time and would be last time that I would make a trip to this restaurant. This place was recommended by my friends Mom that has lived in that area for over 30+ years. It was her birthday last week and she wanted to come here so I took my family of 12 there to celebrate her birthday. I always look at the reviews and the menu before I go when it's my first time to see what they have to offer and what my expectations should be. I did see some good and bad things but more of good. With 12 people the bill was expected to not be cheap. We ordered pizzas, chicken parm, spaghettis, ravioli, and shrimp scampi. As far as the food I was impressed with the ravioli and pizza.. the other things were ok. I've had better at other restaurants. The place looked to be family oriented, lots of family with little kids there and pretty clean. The reason for such a low rating and to why I would not come back or take my family there was because of their service. That will always be the number one reason why I would never come back. We were greeted at the door, our water was always refilled, but whenever we needed anything we were always referred to our waitress. From what my family and I saw, there was only one lady running around taking orders and taking payment. All others were seating people down or bringing out the food. This perception was not just from me, but it was from the person that recommended the place and my kids as well. The lady seemed to be irritated, not happy, didn't smile, and annoyed. We didn't ask for much. We placed two orders because first half of the party came first and second after. She was quick to serve others but we asked she kept saying it will be a couple minutes. When I told my kids to go get the check and pay, that took forever and multiple check ins to when we can get our bill. She came to check and see how our food was one time and that was it. It was mainly the other girls that would ask us if we wanted to clear our plates or get boxes. With just this interaction it left a really bad taste in my mouth and I would rather spend my money at a place that wants my service. read more

Another 20 minutes until I finally called someone over to order. That person said, "oh, I'll get your server" and put a basket of bread on our table. Another 40 minutes to get our dinner. I've been here a handful of times over the years and always look forward to the piping hot scissor rolls. Period. During my recent visit I tried the chicken marsala and my daughter had the fettuccine alfredo with prawns. We started off with small salads that came with the dinner - just some greens and a couple of carrot sticks. I had memories of a salad with shredded mozzarella and olives, but noticed that was a salad you had to order separately. Next time. I was expecting a bowl of pasta covered with dark brown soupiness but instead was treated to a big twirl of spaghetti with garlic and olive oil and two huge pieces of chicken and a ton of mushrooms. Loved the sauce since it's finished with cream and was luscious. The fettuccine was good, topped with the right amount of prawns. I brought home half of my meal and actually ate the leftovers instead of tossing them out in Monday's trash. That's a big deal in my house, where things are usually stockpiling till garbage day. Pizzutos has been a neighborhood staple for probably longer than I've been alive. My family used to get takeout from here 1-2 times a week when I was in high school and it's always a great and quick dinner idea. It's the type of place where the servers recognize you and in my family's case memorized "the usual" order for us which was always nice. Recently came back from college and tried the chicken parm, highly recommend. Also their warm rolls are amazing.
