We were pleasantly surprised by the array of cooked choices. My husband loved the chicken meal. I had the chef's broccoli salad. Really yummy & innovative. The cutlets were crispy! We bought them to make sandwiches for our kids. I also got a pound of breaded eggplant cutlets. Amazing! All reasonably priced. The owner was personable & chatty. The ladies who served were fast! We'll be back!

Their menu is HUGE and will have something for quite literally everybody, whether you're into pizza, wraps, panini, or salads. This made it super tough to decide what to get, however. After checking out their Yelp page I decided to go with "The Boss." SO good. It had penne alla vodka, chicken cutlet, and some very fresh mozz. My only complaint is that I wish I had some chili flakes to add a bit more of a kick. Everything meshed so well together and I totally see myself recreating this as my next hangover cure. Additionally, we tried the potato salad. I am SO picky about potato salad and was literally dancing when I took a bite (please tell me someone relates to the happy food shakes). The potatoes were cooked to perfection and I loved how it had red peppers in it! The staff was friendly and the place was clean and well-ran. I went at peak lunch hour and was still served within 15-20 minutes, super impressive! Will need to go again when back in the area.

I had countless delicious meals over the years here with my parents and grandparents. While here in Connecticut Bruce and I decided to dine here this evening. We like to dine out often and love the variety of options here in Connecticut. We had high hopes for Cafe Allegre. What a miserable experience and a total rip off. We opted not to have any alcohol and instead had two hot teas. We ordered the artichokes for a starter. A scattering of over fried dry lumps, no sauce with a minuscule piece of parsley and a small piece of shaved carrot. Bruce and I ordered the Ceasar salad with a double portion of chicken. Although the waitress said the salad was entree size portions, the amount of salad, tasteless rubbery chicken all served on a small luncheon size plate was shameful. $12.99 for the salad and $8.99 for a half a bite of extra chicken! I had the waitress remove my meal and she took it off our tab. I was expecting her to bring something else out or give me a menu but she never bothered. Evidently she thought I said I didn't want anything else. By the time she returned, Bruce had finished his salad. Really? The waitress thought I was fine just sitting there with no dinner? Needless to say her tip was equivalent to the service. So for $66.51, with no alcohol and no dessert, just one luncheon size salad, this was a supreme rip off. When a dish is returned to the kitchen the manager should have gotten off his ass to come over and address the problem and to see how to rectify the experience. Nothing. I left hungry and angry. Rest assured a scathing review will be left on Yelp along with my phoning the owner to voice my displeasure. Now perhaps this post comes across as my being an arrogant demanding patron. Bruce and I have had some amazing dinners and also some less than wonderful. I always try to cut the restaurant some slack. Food services is not an easy job. But when you charge these prices it's important that they know when customers are displeased.

A chewy/ flavorless piece of steak that was mediocre at best topped with very fishy crab, a side of asparagus and a small baked potato. Complete highway robbery. Plated beautifully, lacking flavor. Did not eat the crab, choked down the steak. The small baked potato was perhaps the best part, even though it was plain. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Bathroom bathrooms were clean. We walked in and were instantly greeted and ushered to a table that was the right size for our little group. The service throughout the night was amazing, the food was delicious and appropriately hot, and the beverages were perfect. The staff was very knowledgeable and had no issues answering any questions. Once the food landed on the table, there was that kind of silence that can only mean that everyone was too busy enjoying the food to talk at all. Once the forks had settled, we all had nothing but compliments! After we had finished, we noticed that the whole place had cleared out. We chatted with the manager for a minute and gave praises to the service and food, and he said that he closes a bit early so that his staff can go home to spend the holiday with their families, which was admirable! I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about our experience and we're all looking forward to next year already! Needless to say, this will continue to be where we will celebrate every Christmas Eve from now on!

Located in Clinton Connecticut, this mainstay restaurant came highly recommended by many of my friends. I pulled in and parking was a breeze, even though it was busy. This parking lot was big. Lots of handicapped spaces also. My friend and I went in and we were greeted warmly, and promptly seated Knowing portions were big, but not realizing how big they would be we passed on appetizer. This is where it gets good! My friend ordered lasagna, and I ordered the eggplant Parmesan. We also ordered water, Immediately out came the salads that were included with the meals. These salads were medium sized, and we're probably good enough for just a lunch! Tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped lettuce, and a very nice house dressing, consisting of a creamy garlic, which was delicious. After salad was done our fantastic waitress brought us a big bowl of pasta and sauce. I could've made a meal out of this! This wasn't just any run of the mill, this was delicious pasta and sauce. Oversized entrées were next on the Bill and I ate probably 1/5 of the eggplant Parmesan. It was huge. I think three or four people could've split this. My friend ate probably about the same of the lasagna. For dessert, we split a Reesie's chocolate pie that was very, very sweet creamy, and hit the spot with the chocolate sauce and whip, whipped cream around the plate Bag probably weighed at least 7 pounds. We brought home the pasta, the lasagna, and the eggplant Parmesan. I loved the eggplant Parmesan. I make a pretty mean Parmesan, but this eggplant Parmesan was on point. It just exploded with great Italian flavors My friend liked the lasagna, as she said it was very, very nice I'm still raving about the big bowl of pasta that came with the meal. Dinner with the tip which included the two big meals which I think were 24.95 each along with the dessert and the big bowl of pasta was roughly $80 and change. This was a deal of deals. There will be meals during the coming week. If you're at the shore and you need takeout, this will be good for the week. I love this I am now a big fan and I look forward to returning in the spring when the weather gets nice All in all, I wonder what took me so long to come to The Log Cabin!

Four of us decided to have dinner here on a Saturday night. Lorenzo's does a heavy takeout business, but they have a small but cozy cafe-style dining room. Four of us were seated upon entry. Lorenzo's serves pizza as their main food, but they also have entrees that many local Italian restaurants have. My wife and I decided to split a "large house salad" and order a small red sauce pizza with sausage, peppers, eggplant, onion, and Mozzarella cheese. Our friends ordered soup, a side of meatballs, an alfredo dish, and baked ziti. In general, food was very good. The large house salad lived up to its name, a huge portion, featuring lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, eggplant, and cucumbers. It was more than enough to split. Dressing was served on the side. The small pizza had crispy crust. It had lots of content, and the ingredients were quality. It tasted really good, overall, though the onions appeared to be a cooked-up garnish. Baked ziti was a huge portion. The service was friendly and yet very professional. Requests for clean plates were honored, for the many courses. We liked that a delicious tapenade was brought out with the fresh and crusty bread. We also liked our cheesecake dessert, which we split. Our friends had recent birthdays, so the staff sent them a dessert of "flan" which had a lit candle. Be aware that they do not have a license to serve liquor, but they will do setups. We had a lovely time here at Lorenzo's 2. Prices were very reasonable. We are very tempted to return for more.
