Always great! Fruit is in season, never hard. Quick service! I love stopping by the Madison location whenever I'm in the area

Always amazing! The service is fast and efficient. Everything's reasonably priced- cheapest smoothies and coffee around! Kid friendly too!

I was craving some thing healthy, cold, and delicious on a hot summer day when passing through downtown Madison, on my way to the beach. I decided to pop into Life Bowls. Probably won't do so, again... The staff was not really pleasant, at all and was super low in energy. It was a really, really small interior and pretty crammed and confusing, and I waited extra time because they got my name wrong and just didn't call it... The smoothie was not very tasty for the price! The açai fruit bowls looked pretty tasty, but I think I could probably just accomplish all of this in a blender at my house, and be treated a little little bit nicer by my dogs than I was by the Life Bowls staff ‍

This is a really cute, healthy spot in Madison. A great place to stop before or after some beach time at Hammonasset. Place seemed busy but service was fast. Staff was friendly and answered questions as well as provided recommendations. Inside is small but cozy. My Mango #5 smoothie with coconut was delicious.

Great açaí bowls and coffee! A quaint little spot close to the beach with good customer service. I recommend the very berry acai.

Beach Bum Pitaya Bowl

Cravings satisfied! Loved the Pitaya Bowl I got , lil heavy on the coconut topping but I personally am not a huge coconut fan. Also had the Chickpea Salad Sandwhich, really good would get it again. Can't wait to come back to try their other Pitaya bowls and Acai bowls.

Acai Bowl

I went to Life Bowls and thought they were decent. I wish their portions were a little bigger for the price, however, after living in CA I feel like I'm a little spoiled when it comes to Acai bowls! If you're in the area, it's a great breakfast stop!

Kiwis playhouse. Lacking toppings on the left half, and the fruit was unripe. Not great.

Disappointing açaí bowl. The bowl was half topped with toppings, and the fruit it did have was sour and unripe. The actual açaí was pretty sour too because they use lime in the mix. I thought it would add brightness, but the whole thing was sour, acidic and imbalanced. Expensive and didn't satisfy what I was looking for.

Nutty Bowl

If you're looking for an açaí bowl just to satisfy the craving this does the job. Although, the acai blend itself is very watered down, and the price is borderline WAY too pricey for the quality and size of the food. I enjoyed it though.

Life bowls is my new go-to spot for a healthy meal or snack. The bowls, smoothies and toasts are all so tasty. Service is quick and the staff are knowledgeable about the ingredients. So many options...something for everyone.

Cute truck!

Oh my gawd, guys- this food truck is da bomb! I've been trying to turn a new leaf- healthy foods with less refined sugar. More fruits and veggies. This place was a saving grace the other day. We had gotten the Acai smoothie and bowls. Not only was my bowl absolutely beautiful, breath-taking, even, it was absolutely delicious. You could tell that the fruit was super fresh; the tart was balanced perfectly with the sweet. Smoothie consistencies topped with crunch from homemade hemp granola and coconut andddd chewy Goji berries. I was satisfied, energized and ready to kick some butt at the gym! Find this truck and gobble it up!!! Your belly and soul will thank me later.

Purple Rain Smoothie Toast Special chipotle hummus cucumber scallion salad sesame toasted w pickled Gogi berries.

Delicious smoothie 10/10 times & so appreciative of their delicious and creative changing specials to help switch it up for a treat while I am on my lunch break! :-)

Berry Acai Bowl. Awesome.
Paul A.

These are the best acai bowls I have ever had in CT, and if they were in NYC they would be some of the better ones I've had there too. Acai bowls are not as popular out here as much as they are in Cali but, lucky for us, these two dudes just moved from the West Coast to start this place up in CT. I am glad they did because the smoothies and acai bowls here are really outstanding. Acai bowls are basically smoothies that are placed in a bowl and covered in toppings but featuring an Amazonian berry that has a slight chocolate/blueberry taste and is full of antioxidants. I got the Berry Acai bowl and Nutty Acai Bowl and both were completely awesome. I think I might have liked the berry one more, but the nutty one is definitely sweeter and more dessert-like and it seemed to be the most popular one. I really want to try the Kiwi Acai Bowl next time. It is also of note that the base of the smoothie is almost pure acai, which is pretty baller for any acai bowl spot since most dilute it heavily. As for smoothies a lot of people were ordering a PB Whey one and a Kale one. They both looked great but after 2 acai bowls I knew it would be impossible to have a smoothie. The dudes who work here are super nice and the truck is in a scenic nook of Madison. I personally do not live anywhere near this place, even when I am staying in CT, but I still plan to make the 45 minute hike to this amazing truck every now and then to pick up an acai bowl. Awesome.

Plays Pitaya. Served super cold and filled with toppings to mix in. I could eat this daily.

Small but quaint. The vibe felt nice. Service was ok but maybe they are not as social. Small seating area. Interesting place. Would return.

I guess I'm not a food truck sort of person. The whole controversy about their existence in downtown Madison is a turnoff. I cannot imagine making money in that location. There is no volume. They do air of crying and the controversy spears to be Madison's biggest issue. High Tide takes credit cards.

The couple's mission is to give customers a gourmet restaurant experience right on the street or from the comfort of their own homes. This past weekend was the wedding of my brother and sister-in-law at Stewards of the Land Brewery in Northford. It just so happens that they booked the Chef Truck to provide the food for the reception. I had previously sampled some of Chef John's delicious food when I attended an exclusive 'Foodie Influencer' event a few months back at the same brewery. I was not disappointed then and I certainly wasn't this time. The first course featured an Autumn Salad (salad greens, sliced apples, gorgonzola, pancetta) and bowls of Pumpkin Bisque. Both dishes really hit the spot. The next course featured Chicken n' Waffles, Mac n' Cheese Fritters, and Cheese-stuffed Squash Blossoms. Everything was perfect! The final course was served buffet style and included the "Mississippi Mac Attack" (slow-cooked pulled pork over Mac n' Cheese with Scallions) and "General Tso's Chickpeas" (crispy chickpeas, tofu & broccoli tossed in sweet & spicy sauce over jasmine rice). Everything was so flavorful. I think that the second course may have been my favorite. Another great culinary experience from Chef John! First, the folks working on the truck were so nice. The gentleman smoking the meats on the back shared in small talk with my husband about grilling and smoking while we waited for our food. We ended up grabbing two of each empanada: pizza, beef and chicken. We were apprehensive about how they would be (its easy to screw up an empanada and pizza sounded unusual) but we ended up floored by how delicious they were. The empanada dough was soft and delightful and fried perfectly; not greasy or dry. Perfection. The beef empanada was great and very typical beef empanada flavoring and texture. The chicken was a huge surprise for us because chicken tends to be bland and dry in empanadas but this chicken was so juicy and flavorful (we suspected it may have been smoked before being shredded) and we were thrilled. The pizza empanada was the most unusual one but we both absolutely loved the flavor and it was a fast favorite for both of us. The cheese and tomato sauce was combined into a fabulous creamy texture inside of the empanada and we were so impressed. We also both loved our drinks: pink lemonade and passion fruit juice. We look forward to going back and trying more soon! Highly recommend based on our experience.

The two times we've gotten them, they needed just a touch more crunch and golden brown color. Still very good and the best around!!!
