This place was great. I was in the area and looking for something fresh and thankfully stumbled across this place. I got a bowl with peanut butter and banana which was great, and also toast with hummus avocado and carrot which was surprisingly good. I was a little hesitant on the toast but in hindsight it stole the show and I would totally recommend it. Service was good! read more

There are many açaí/smoothie cafés in New Haven but this definitely my all-time favorite! The fruit is fresh; the açaí is blended really well and always the perfect consistency. It's not too sugary either. My go-tos are the classic and the nutty açaí bowls. I've only ordered via Snackpass. The man working behind the counter is kind and efficient. The bowls were always ready by the estimated pickup time and are kept refrigerated until you get there. I visited Life Bowls last year and didn't connect with it, but, I am a woman of second chances so I decided to stop by again today (7/13/21). I read the other reviews and compared it to my experience and it seems like everyone else had nothing but pleasant things to say about it and I too wanted that feeling. When I walked in, there was only one person ahead of me so I was able to order mine pretty quickly. I went with the Nutty as it seemed to be a crowd favorite. I wholly enjoyed the topping (honey, granola, bananas, etc.) but I wasn't too fond of the blend which is really just a me thing. I will say if you're an açaí bowl lover, make sure to check them out. Life Bowls got the highest ratings on Yelp among places with Acai bowls in New Haven so I wanted to try it out. We did a pick up and got a few different bowls and salads (Budda bowls). The acas bowls were really good without being too overly sweet. The Buddha bowls were ok ish. I will surely be back to try the other acai/pitaya bowls. read more

Really wanted a smoothie, and this was the right place. We were immediately acknowledged when we walked in the door, and the gentleman that took our order was pleasant. Place is cozy and clean. We took a seat while we waited for the drinks and when they were finished they walked the drinks over to us, which was a nice touch, instead of yelling our order out. Life Bowls is probably the MOST vegan friendly restaurant in New Haven, and that's saying a lot, because there are so many solid options, but I can veganize nearly EVERYTHING HERE. This is a beautiful space, bright and welcoming, which makes me sad we can't fully take advantage of it safely. The location is COVID compliant and the owner wears a mask and enforces limits/mask wearing. Snackpass is the way to go for this place but some things, like the specials, won't be on there, but they take orders inside The Salad bowls are flavorful and fresh, the smoothies are tasty and very filling (I love the Hartford Kaler and the Go Green Bowl) and the toasts are really delicious. I haven't had a single thing from here I didn't like, which is saying a lot. If you like everything but the bagel seasoning the Park Slope is the perfect breakfast treat for you. The soups of the day are very inventive, I had a quinoa one that I loved and I absolutely hate quinoa. The real highlight here is the fact that where ever possible Life Bowls likes to highlight local businesses, like Aruna Chocolate (the hot chocolate is amazing, try it with oat milk) and the owner is extremely knowledgeable about his products and allergens. I love seeing businesses support each other, and I would love to come back to try the rest of the soups (all vegan) and pitaya/acai bowls. Being bougie ain't cheap, and this place is more expensive than fast food, I get it. But supporting local foods and eating food that will fill your heart, stomach and mind with happiness is worth it, so definitely give it a try. read more

I'm giving life bowls a 5. That isn't normal for me but I feel they deserve it. They have a great selection of acia bowls, smoothies and toasts. I tried the nutty bowl and was very impressed by the topping ratio. Crunchy, nutty, fresh. I also ordered an iced coffee and was pumped that they add coffee ice cubes instead of water cubes. Best acai bowls and smoothies in New Haven, hands down. At almost every other place I've been to in the NY/CT area, the acai and smoothie blends are never ice-y enough & as a result, melt quickly. Life Bowls has the perfect balance -- I never feel like I'm racing to finish. My favorites are the very berry acai bowl and the purple rain smoothie. A hidden gem in New Haven! I went here on a Tuesday morning for a pitaya bowl and this place did not disappoint. There was no wait as my friends and I were the only ones there. There was only one person working and I really appreciated how hard he was working, taking our orders AND making the bowls himself. The place is very cute and clean. It has a lot of natural lighting coming in from the window front and it creates such a nice environment. There's cute wall art that would be a great photo op background for your açaí bowl. There's plenty of space to sit. I ordered the Beach Bum and I took a few spoonful from my friend's Nutty açaí bowl. Both were super refreshing and fresh. It was not overly sweet, just the perfect balance and the perfect way to start our days. The servings were pretty big and I was very full and happy after finishing my bowl! This place is the real deal for an açaí bowl. Some places add a lot of other ingredients but this place is deep rich purple açaí. My faves that I usually get are the Nutty Bowl and/or the Purple Rain smoothie. Their coffee is so so good too! I far prefer it to other coffee places. Also the Buddha grain bowl is delicious!
