Outstanding pizza spot. Delicious pie, friendly service. I look forward to coming back

Came here on a Wednesday night - there's a large indoor space with ample seating. Has an industrial vibe. Not crowded (seems to have a lot of takeout orders). I made my own pizza (tomato sauce, ricotta, arugula, onion, and hot honey drizzle). It took about 10-15 minutes for it to come out. It was AMAZING. The crust is very thick but LIGHT (not heavy) on the inside, and it has a very crunchy, delicious burnt cheese exterior. The tomato sauce was so flavorful and fresh. I was actually stunned and speechless... couldn't function as a human being until I finished the third slice. GO HERE. It'll change your life. read more

Incredible gluten free crust!! I was so impressed by the gf crust! It is light, fluffy, and sooooooo delicious! I could just eat the crust like bread, forget the toppings! I am not sure how they do it, but it was such a wonderful surprise. A friend commented that the gf crust is so good it's hard to tell the difference between gf and non gf. We ordered three different varieties (cheese, veggie, and meat) all of which were delicious. The crust is more Chicago style ( which is not my preferred) but the fact that it was so light and fluffy with structure just blew my mind. I'm going to be recommending this place all day long! read more

Pizza Wizard - My brother Randy on a gluten free crust - Pizza Near Me - Rochester, New York

My first time having Detroit style pizza. It reminds me of Sicilian pizza, with thick doughy and slightly crunch crust. It's a little more difficult to eat (I used a knife & fork), but it was amazing taste-wise. I enjoyed the sweet tanginess and spicy kick of their red sauce. I wished their had more delivery options, but otherwise I'd go back in a heartbeat. Both their 'Roni Square and Loaded fries were good. read more

First timer: Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and customers (recommendations from tables on either side of us). We ordered New Number One Salad (HUGE - it feed 4), Zigger Pizza and WGC. Yum, Yum Staff was attentive, food was hot and delivered with a smile. We plan a return visit. AMP/DAP read more

We dined in here for the first time. The food and service were great!! We started with the wings, barbecue sauce. It was sweet and tangy. The #1 Best salad without croutons was a great blend of cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and salad varieties. I believe the dressing was a banana pepper vinaigrette. Yummy!! The air quality index pizza was just delicious! The first was light and fluffy, which isn't typical for gluten-free crust. The pizza had broccoli rabe, artichoke, tomatoes, pesto, and olive oil. I got it without cheese. My husband had the meatmans pizza without cheese on a gluten-free crust. He really liked it. They also had some gluten-free desserts - a butter tart and a mini lemon Bundt cake. The cake wasn't as moist as it would like, but had good flavor. The tart was yummy. It had raisins in it and was very flavorful. They have several tables for seating. You clean up after yourself and bring your trash and trays to discard over by the utensils, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and oregano. The staff was amazing!! This will definitely be our pizza go to in the ROC! read more

Pizza Wizard - gluten free pepperoni pizza and #1 BEST SALAD BUT NOW A LITTLE DIFFERENT - Pizza Near Me - Rochester, New York

Oh Pizza Wizard, self-deprecating, hilarious, creative, inclusive, delicious, perfection. My hands down fave pizza place in Rochester! I have been eating at Pizza Wizard since they opened, and pretty much always get the same thing: a gluten-free, vegan square with mushrooms and broccoli rabe. The square is so large I get 4 servings out of one pie, and it's just as good warmed up the next day as when I get it fresh. It's the perfect mix of crispy, salty, garlicky, savory and is soooo satisfying! If you've never been before, you can order online and customize your pie and pick it up to eat at home, or you can go inside, order and eat there. We do both depending on what else we have going on. In terms of what they offer, they have a limited menu of ingredients you can add to your pie (think peppers, onions, meats), but they are always adding new things, and coming soon they will have even more vegan options. And they also have wings, tenders and salads, and offer daily special pies. Service is fast and friendly, and when we dine in, I always love looking at their merch, which includes t-shirts that highlight the bad reviews they've received, which I find hilarious. A restaurant with great food that doesn't take itself too seriously. LOVE IT. Parking is a little bit tricky, and sometimes folks don't park very well in the lot that's directly in front, so take care when parking and walking there. The lot directly in front of their place is small and there's also street parking. read more

We got the chicken bacon ranch & kale pizza. I don't remember what it was called on the menu. It was cooked perfectly. Deep dish kinda which was a surprise, a nice fluffy crust and crispy edges. We came after 5:30pm so it was pretty busy. Building inside is clean and surprisingly fairly quiet that day. Great place. I plan on coming back to try a regular cheese pizza! read more

I will have to return to give this place a proper review. Lots of people have recommended this place, but when I went recently on a Friday night for a slice for dinner, they said that they do not sell slices. As one person, I didn't need an entire pie - and they said it would be a 45 minute for one. Guess I'll return another time when I have a friend or two to share a whole pizza with. For now, one star for not offering slices. read more

I am going to keep this review brief...the hype is REAL! Pizza Wizard had been consuming my feed and my thoughts and for weeks when I looked at my partner last Friday and said: "today is the day we order takeout from Pizza Wizard." He said "what is a Pizza Wizard?" and also "hell yes" and thus begins the tale of me eating roni 'za and going to pizza heaven. It truly IS wizardry!!!! Online ordering could not be easier and the menu has everything your pizza loving heart could desire, including salad, two different kinds of pizza, specialty sandwiches, and wings! I can't wait to try the thin crust option, but I would recommend going Detroit style for your first Pizza Wizard experience. With the order of wings we got, I could only finish one slice and was able to have pizza for breakfast the next day, which is truly a gift to behold. Depending on the hunger level of the tribe ordering, one pizza per two humans will probably do the trick. The wings were pretty standard but I think in the future I would order them extra crispy?? Maybe? They were still delicious. They switch up their sauce offerings and have a dry rub option for those not trying to get too saucy. Remember when I said I would keep this review brief? I really tried. Rochester has no shortage of great pizza options and it is time to add Pizza Wizard to the ranks of greatness. The storefront is nestled between Stuart's Spices and the Natural Pet Food store, and the interior is bright, artful, thoughtfully designed, and FUN. Check out the FAQ section of their website if you are curious about their offerings, and go forth and ENJOY your pizza experience! read more

The pizza here is delicious. It's crispy, crunchy and cheesy all at once. I saw them advertise elote pizza and I knew I had to try. It is such a unique flavor to offer. The location is super clean and pretty airy. The staff are welcoming and friendly. They were pretty busy at lunch. A busy pizza location means excellent pizza. They offer slices for lunch. The slices were 3.00 for the regular and 4.00 for speciality. I decided to mix up my choices. The pepperoni one will go to my husband. The elote pizza was magic.. maybe that's why this place is called pizza wizard. It's savory, sweet from the corn and a hit of spice from the drizzle. After I ate it I was disappointed i didn't get two slices or a full pie of it. The vegetarian was excellent. It is a perfect blend of vegetables that worked so well together. I would highly recommend both flavors. I was tempted to eat my husbands slice but I had restraint. The only complaint was parking. There is street parking, a small area in front of the restaurant and I think some in back.. I am not quite sure.. I parked in a nearby business and quickly ran for take out. Next time I will find legal parking. Excellent pizza. Highly recommend read more

I finally got to try Pizza Wizard after seeing them all over Yelp and Instagram. I placed an order online for a pepperoni square and it was ready in about 20 minutes. First--the location is a bit ambiguous. There is no clear signage and I drove past it at first. They're in the cement looking building to the right of Stuart's Spices. The pizza was very good but they are expensive. There was enough for two people but one square cost me $14, not including tip. I really liked the sweet tomato sauce and the crispy thick crust. The pepperoni could have been charred more and the pizza a little less oily overall, but it had a ton of flavor. I would visit again when I want to treat myself, but the price is about prohibitive for ordering on the regular. read more

First time at Pizza Wizard and it was GREAT! My son works nearby and recommended we join him for lunch. Went in at 12:10 on a Thursday, a busy time. Greeted so kindly, not feeling rushed, ordered, and our delicious pizza was out in about 5 minutes, maybe even less. Like an upscale Pizza Hut style pizza, with a nice deep dish crispy crust. Tasty sauce! We had slices of garlic, cheese, pepperoni, and a hot pepper one, too. Fantastic canned pop!!! (Not a fan of fountains). We totally enjoyed our lunch and will be back for sure! I'd attach a photo, but there was none left, hahaha! read more

I'm usually a thin crust kinda guy but holy cow was this pizza amazing! Thick but light crust, crispy, cheesy, just spectacular! We had a cheese and pepperoni and a chicken pesto and both were perfect. We will be back! It was worth the hour drive! read more

Serendipitously happened upon this little spot when looking for a place to tun my car around. Ordered a "Build your own square" with 4 custom pieces of deep dish pizza. Their sauce is not acidic at all and slightly sweet. The crust is reminiscent of the buttery Pizza Hut crust of my childhood and I mean that in the best way I promise! Quite a few unique toppings to choose from. Food came out fast and was obviously fresh and great quality. Super satisfying & rich slices made it well worth $15 is cost. Perfect pizza to bring on a picnic! read more

Lots of great topping options! The pizza was hot and crispy. The edges were golden and the dough was soft and chewy. The wings were also tasty! Would recommend for a Detroit style pizza! read more

I've been wanting to try this place but then I went gluten-free and thought that I wouldn't be able to. I discovered they have gf pizza and had to try! Let me just tell you that I didn't feel like I was missing out at all! I actually questioned how this pizza could be gf because it looked so good and tasted so good! My cousin had a piece of my pizza and said she never would have known it was gf. I also got the "Best Salad " which was very good too. I thought that for $10 it better be good and it sure was. This place is definitely a must! read more

The pizza was really good. The packaging is adorable. The wings were nothing to write home about at all and that is what they look like when you ask for them to be fried hard. Their homemade ranch was delicious though the spicy one was amazing! read more

PIZZA WIZARD IS A TRUE GLUTEN FREE WIZARD OF PIZZA DELICIOUSNESS! I am originally from Long Island, and pre Celiac, a lover of Sicilian Style pizza. I have yet to find a delicious, fluffy, crust that could compare to my long lost Long Island love, that also met my dietary needs...UNTIL YESTERDAY! I ordered a gluten free crust with Daiya cheese, so I was able to get my pizza fix, without intestinal woes..IT WAS INCREDIBLE! The pizza dough was soft, fluffy and crisp in all the right spots, the sauce was fresh, with enough flavor and the cheese was under the sauce, a foreign concept to me, but I loved it. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND PIZZA WIZARD, FOR REAL PIZZA, not some fake cardboard garbage. read more

Pizza Wizard - Gluten Free fluffy crust with Vegan Daiya Cheese - Pizza Near Me - Rochester, New York

Like most of you, I've never heard of Detroit style pizza before I went to Pizza Wizard. Succumbing to the allure of their pizza box art, I went in to try a square roni with hot honey but I didn't stop there. Now, when I order, I make sure to get two so I can keep trying all the wonderful options they have. My wife has some meatless dietary restrictions but Pizza Wizard has her covered with many vegetarian and vegan options and substitutes, everyone is welcome. Now that they've installed the new fryer, they can have the seitan wings that were previously just for the vegan pop up any time. Speaking of those wings, they frankly have the same consistency as a chicken tender or boneless wing and I may even say that I prefer it. Often times, I'll see their instagram or be thinking about their pizza at work and it doesn't take much to convince me to go grab a bite on my way home. For those who say that they don't need an entire pie, show up hungry because eating four slices isn't a difficult feat here, it's just too dang good. read more

Delicious pizza! The crust is crispy and chewy and just under the toppings is soft and fluffy. Most thick crust pizza is too floury and dry for me but this was perfection. The edges have a thin layer of crispy cheese on it, I thought it might be too much cheese or taste burnt but it wasn't. Toppings are high quality and plentiful. We ordered to go but saw plenty of seating inside so we bought drinks and ate there A few tiny negatives, but I won't take away a star because the pizza is just that tasty. And I don't even really like pizza that much. 1 Parking is atrocious. I couldn't even see a place to park on the street, we tried 3 different spots and moved before we realized there are 3 spots to the left of the door. But then we got semi blocked in by a curb. I would risk a ticket for this pizza however. (This could be a me problem, I'd look more carefully for street parking next time.) 2 Order directly from their website. If you order from Google it shows you 5 different choices for who to use. If you notice "the business prefers" one, great. Semi confusing for an old lady like me. 3 Apparently I'm too slow. Before I ordered it said 25-30 minutes. Once I click submit order I got a popup. "There was an error placing your order! Your order time is no longer available. The new time for your order is 40 minutes." 40 minutes was fine so I double checked my email to make sure it really didn't go through, then I clicked submit order. Well I took too long lmao so I got another popup "There was an error placing your order! Your order time is no longer available. The new time for your order is 25 minutes." So I clicked that button immediately and it went through. But I wasn't entirely sure that I hadn't just spent $150 on 9 boxes of pizza. Spoiler - I did not. Long story short - go to Pizza Wizard. read more

I'm coming in a recommendation from a friend and I'm happy he did!! I'm here mid afternoon and luckily they still have single slices left... serving was large and oh so delicious!!! They have some beer options and many drink options. The building is a bit tricky to find..it's set off from the road with minimal signage from the street. There's also parking in the back so keep that in mind. Long story - food was delicious and staff was friendly! I recommend! read more

Been following on Instagram for awhile and finally got here. Easy ordering on-line and fast pick-up and friendly service. Th pizza was very good. Loved the dough, crisp on the edges but soft and yummy on the inside. Love the pepperoni. The crispy ones and the ones covered with sauce were delicious. Great value for the price. Also ordered the arugula salad. Dressing was homemade and very good. Hard to find since it is tucked back in the lot. I drove by it 3x's! Lol Definitely recommend when visiting Rochester. read more

Sad that it took so long for us to try/find this place! Really great pizza with fun/unique toppings. We shared a square hot honey pizza with banana peppers and pepperoni. It was delicious! The ratio of crust to cheese to sauce was well-balanced. Prices were fair, especially since we were able to split thr standard square. Although the exterior of the building keeps Pizza Wizard hidden in a warehouse-type building, the vibe was chill. Some outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating. Highly recommend! read more

A regular stop for my husband and kids. Really love the modern nostalgic vibes... the pizza is even better. It's like your childhood "pizza hut" crust elevated with exceptional recipes, baking, and ingredients. A salty crunch, followed by a soft, bready interior. (We fight over the pieces with the charred corners.) Bonus: The staff is always sweet to the kids. read more

Best pizza. Put the hot honey on everything! I found this place searching the map app for pizza and keep coming back.

We have been ordering pizza wizard every time we have a pizza craving the past 2 months! They are fast, easy to order from and just soooo yummies!! So far we've tried the 'Roni square, sausage square, and a pesto feta (?) square. We've also gotten wings including the salt and vinegar wings and the korean style sauce wings. Everything has been really really really good! The pizzas are like a deep dish kind of pizza to me. The roni square is packed with pepperoni and they really slather on the cheese and sauce which I love! They make the dough soooo crispy and whatever the dough is, it's got a mild sweetness to it so just eating the dough alone would have made me happy. The sausage square is great for meat lovers, though towards the end I think everything tasted the same-ish. The pesto feta might have been a special on one of the days. It was a very different take on pizza topping for sure. It was more like a brighter flavor profile with the pesto sauce (?) and the crumbly cheese. Very very good! We loved the wings both times. The korean wings were solid and flavored well. It wasn't in your face tangy like ones I've had, but got a good kick to it. The vinegar and salt wings.....please put it back on the menu. That was the star of our first takeout order!! We couldn't get enough of the sauce and was dipping our pizza in it! The wings were crispy and was just delightful. We are definitely sold on pizza wizard and will be giving them our business regularly! read more

Absolutely amazing pizza! Where to begin? I ordered the Sausage Square and couldn't have been more pleased with my selection. The sausage was perfect- excellent flavor, not too greasy. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the broccoli rabe, but I'm glad I stuck with it. The flavor it imparted was a perfect compliment. There was just enough garlic on the pizza to compliment without overwhelming, and can we talk about that perfect cheesy-crisp crust? Heaven!!! My husband, a Celiac, ordered a gluten free, build-your-own, with red sauce, pepperoni and sausage. A couple of things here: first, it was actually difficult for me to decipher the gluten-free crust from non-gluten-free, plus, the taste was exactly like the non-gluten-free. The same cheesy-crisp perfection was just as apparent in the GF variety as the regular, so if you need to adhere to a GF diet but don't want to sacrifice in flavor, texture, or overall experience you've found your pizza place. The red sauce was more perfection: flavorful, a nice texture, and just the right amount. Going forward we would order en route to the restaurant. We traveled from a west-side suburb and needed to reheat once home but it was totally worth it. We'll be back, and soon! read more
