This pizza did not disappoint! They always come up with really great combos and this is one of them! This is one of their current menu items with country sweet coated chopped chicken tenders or spiced fried tofu, 'nana peppers, roasted garlic, cheese, red cabbage slaw and a sweet heat aioli topping, perfect for the fall! I'm a little late posting my review -- sorry Pizza Wizard and Yelp-world -- this Fall got nuts! Anyhoo, we tried take-out from Pizza Wizard shortly after they opened, and WHOA, NELLY, it is **TASTY!!!* Can't wait till we can go again! We recently had a hankering, but it was a night when they weren't open. Bummer! Be sure to watch their website for days and hours of service. When we went, we ordered online in advance, then showed up at our appointed time. The entire experience was virtually contact-free ... everything was hot and ready right on time ... everyone inside was protocoled (masked and distanced) .... it's a *SUPER HIP* space in the up-and-coming Clinton Street Corridor. And oh my gosh -- who knew that making the 'zza SQUARE would make it taste SO GOOD? But it does! The just-cheese pizza was our favorite because of all the lovely browned cheese on the edges ... YUM! That shouldn't overshadow the pepperoni squares, which were only second by the tiniest of margins -- in other words, also supremely tasty! We have ordered out twice from Pizza Wizard and it's officially become our favorite pizza place in Rochester. The speciality pizzas are great but their regular cheese pizza is hands down amazing. Even the kitchen sink salad is delicious! Don't forget to throw a rice krispy treat (or two) in your order as well. Can't say enough good things about this place. A must try! read more

I LOVE Pizza. NYC style thin crust is my favorite. PW's nickel thin crust is amazingly like the ones I get in the Big Apple!! Crunchy and just the right sauce on top. We've been here 2x over Christmas break we love it so much. The drive from Fairport is so worth it! The Detroit Style pizza has a light dough and is just the right amount of oil/crunch. We've gotten the sausage and pepperoni topping. One 4 piece Detroit style was enough for myself and my husband. The nickel thins are nice and big as well. THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. My first time trying Detroit style and it did not disappoint. I ordered it last night for pickup, very safe inside with everyone wearing masks. I had the special (Canadian bacon, green olives, goat cheese and arugula pesto), omg what a delicious combo. My boyfriend who has celiac wanted to try the special in gluten-free but unfortunately it was out of stock since it was night 2 of this special so I recommend if you see something you want to try order it asap! However he went with an original GF Detroit with red sauce, pepperoni and sliced red onions and couldn't stop raving that it was the best GF pizza he had ever had. This is the absolute best gluten free crust I've ever had. They have vegan cheese and really fresh toppings like broccoli rabe and homemade tomato sauce. If you've never had Detroit style pizza you've got to try it. The ONLY downside is that they don't have a sign so it's a little hard to find and the website is a little hard to navigate. So being a pizza snob I was reluctant to try this place as I have been disappointed by quite a few other pizza joints in Rochester. For a Brooklyn boy this at first glance looks similar to Sicilian (square thicker slice) pizza you would get in NYC. To my surprise it was more enjoyable as I am not normally a thicker slice person. This is not cheap pizza by any stretch of the imagination. You only get 4 squares per pie. So each order might be good for 1-2 people depending on how much you eat. We got two different pizzas a plain and a sgt. tombstone with pepperoni,sausage, onion, olives, cheese. Very good pies. We also got the wings with cheddar garlic. I would stay away from cheddar wings. The pizza was very good just not something we would get very often as we would need to order 2-3 different pizzas each time to feed our family which gets to be pricey. Live in the area, so I stopped by today for the first time. Not sure if it was the fact that I was the only non-white person there or something else, but I was standing behind two customers in line, when I reached the front the cashier walked a few steps away and stood behind one of the signs so he didn't have to look at me. Curious, I wanted to see how long he wanted to play hide-and-seek with me. Finally I got too hungry and just walked up to him lol. He looked like Matt hamill but from episode 4. They don't offer you drinks here unless you ask, and they only have cans. I'm personally not upset, I've been living in Rochester since before 9/11. I just wish that a place that sells "tikka masala pizza" would show better service to foreigners like me. There was one black guy there, but the customers were complaining to the cashier about him because he was taking selfie's outside. After reading about Pizza Wizard in the D&C, we decided to test it out by ordering the most difficult pizza to make taste good: vegan gluten-free with fresh vegetables. What a pleasant surprise! Not only was our order accurately and promptly made but it was a nice airy thick Detroit-style GF crust with white garlic sauce and yummy vegetables. Even my impossible to please husband enjoyed it! We have been searching for good Gluten Free pizza for awhile. There are a lot of disappointing options out there but this is NOT one of them! The deep Detroit-style Gluten Free pizza was beautiful, light, and fluffy! Great texture. The non-GF pizzas were also beautiful and delicious! The prices are on the higher side but this is not your average pizza. The place is a little hard to find. I did not see any outside signage. We tried the "Roni" (pepperoni) pizza and the sausage pizza. The Roni was our favorite. No shortage of good flavor there and the crust was a perfect combo of crunchy and pleasantly chewy. The sausage one was very garlicky (a little too much for us) so we would not get that one, again. You can tell they don't skimp on quality ingredients, that's why it's a little pricey. Everything was great. Its nice to have a different kind of pizza. There's so much you can do with it, and they're doing it. I had two pizzas and a salad. Very fresh. And the prices are fine. Its the same price as Wegmans thin pizza with so little toppings, and Wegmans has infinitely greater economies of scale. I feel bad being a naysayer, but this pizza wasn't really what I expected. Full disclosure: my husband and I have very picky pizza palates, so we are hard to please. The square pizza was really light and fluffy and I was kind of thinking it would be more heavy and dense.The toppings were tasty and good quality though, but when I think of Detroit pan pizza, I don't think of light and airy. It was not much substance for the price for me. We also ordered wings and they were just the standard wing, no more, no less but were $11 for 8 wings which is pretty pricey. This is my first time ordering from pizza Wizard but it most certainly will not be the last!! I looked up thin crust pizza and checked out reviews close to where I live as I recently relocated. I got a pepperoni, mushroom and onion and it was loaded with toppings and yet still crunchy! ( the edge of the crust was a bit burnt ) but flaked right off. My husband and I ordered three of their square pizzas and an order of their mild wings. The pizza is great! Its a thick dough, but it's not heavy and dense. One square pizza per adult is pretty realistic. The wings were 5/10, we are wing/bleu cheese snobs though, the pizza is 10/10! We ordered the sausage and broccoli rabe, pepperoni, and create your own pepperoni and sausage. My only critique would be their website, it's hard to decipher what is what, and we wish they offered more toppings!
