I kind of feel bad for giving Pizza Shuttle 5 stars. I don't really consider myself a food/pizza snob, but in my mind, I think other people would consider Pizza Shuttle in the realm of Papa John's (no offense Papa) or other "low class" pizza places (if in fact people do think of pizza joints in a relation to a "class system"). BUT I AM DOING IT. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!!!! 5 STARS FOR PIZZA SHUTTLE! I am embarrassed by the amount of money I have spent over the past 1.5 years since moving to Milwaukee. I see the running total every time I order online. I blush. The delivery man consoles me in that I'd "be surprised by how much a college kid can spend in a year" on Pizza Shuttle. I feel better. I can spend $35-$40 on Pizza Shuttle Delivery, have a smorgasbord of a dinner and then have lunches for the whole week. Whereas I order Indian delivery, I spend $50 and barely have enough for dinner. Same goes for Thai. They have rotating Facebook specials that I usually take advantage of (yes, I "like" Pizza Shuttle on facebook). I also have been using the same "free small one topping pizza" coupon that came in the mail (VIP only?) for the past 2 months. I get nervous when the delivery man comes whether he will ask for my coupon or not. I enjoy the pizza: thin, hand tossed, thick. All toppings have been tasty that I've tried. Wide variety of wing sauces (and I like sauces). Bread sticks are pretty good. Stromboli is great. Never been inside the place; it's on my Bucket List. Having lived in or just outside of Chicago (almost) my entire life, I have eaten so much good pizza that when I have visited other cities, I quickly learned to not order pizza when out of town. However, Pizza Shuttle quickly learned me that I was dead wrong. Since 1985, the Shuttle has been making some of the best thin crust 'za ever. The crust is so thin you'd think the Coyote dropped an anvil on it after missing another attempt at the Roadrunner. And said crust stands up to the tasty sauce and toppings. It stays crispy and doesn't sag like a flag on a calm day. I highly recommend the calzone too. And, of course in the land of cheese, you can not only get gigantic mozarella sticks, but...PROVOLONE STICKS!!! Yeah, I about crapped my pants when I saw that on the menu, and they are AWESOME! Pizza Shuttle is about 1 1/2 miles north of downtown and appears to be in a "hip" kind of 'hood. It's only a couple of blocks west of the lake and there are lots of restaurants and bars that appear to be worth trying. read more

I really need to stop going to this place because it disappoints me almost every time. If I didn't live a block away I'd probably never come here. Their pizza is pretty awful. Unless you like a lot of thick chewy dough and and crust pieces that have about an inch of no toppings on the edges. I like extra sauce on my pizza. I'm even willing to pay extra for it. But every time I order it from Pizza Shuttle it's almost as if they do the complete opposite and put minimal sauce on my za. And the pizzas are never cooked long enough. Whatever happened to golden brown bubbly cheese on a pizza? I'm willing to wait a few extra minutes to ensure my pizza is fully cooked. Their wings are pretty big, but that's only because of the thick layer of breading they're covered in. Their thin crust can be okay at times but it's also usually undercooked and soggy. I will give them 2 stars because if you're on their email list you can get some pretty decent specials. And their fried chicken dinner is pretty tasty. We were in Milwaukee for the weekend and looking for some good cheap places to try out. My brother-in-law went to college in the MKE, so we thought we'd ask him for his deep-fried recommendation, and Pizza Shuttle was it. The place is big, and clean, fairly bare-bones. Huge menu, with everything from pizza (natch) to fried chicken, schwarma, and subs. Plus ice cream. And beer, since this IS Milwaukee. It's pretty DIY -- you order at the counter, pick up at the counter, and paper plates, napkins, condiments, etc are laid out next to the drink fountain. We went for a Sicilian (one size, 12") with just cheese and some "cheddar nuggets" which did indeed turn out to be fried cheese curds. Fried cheese is pretty much always delicious, and the accompanying marinara was also very tasty, a nice chunky garlicky variety. The pizza was very good. It had a puffy, yeasty, garlicky crust with just enough cheese and some flavorful sauce on top. We live in the land of deep dish Chicago-style pizza, which while delicious can be very dense and filling -- this was still pretty filling, but not nearly as heavy. Still, we weren't super-hungry so we took about 3/4 of the pizza home (and it reheated beautifully despite the 1.5+ hours in the car). I can see why this place is a favorite of the local college crowd -- if I lived in the neighborhood, I'm sure I'd be a regular too. read more

I have spent more money at Pizza Shuttle than I care to admit. It's not that they have great pizza (they don't) but there's something about it that just keeps drawing me back in. The pizza itself is extremely greasy, and the crust is usually quite doughy. The toppings are decent enough and they put enough on to balance out the mound of cheese on every pizza. Their sauces are nothing to write home about, but they're edible. My fiancée likes the white alfredo sauce they put on some of their specialty pizzas--I can live without it. One gem here is the pizza pinwheels you can get as an appetizer. They take a strip of pizza dough and wrap it around some cheese and whatever topping(s) you want. It's sorta like a cross-section of a tightly wound calzone, I guess? It's tasty though, served with marinara to dip it in. Pro-tip: Get an order with gyro meat and feta. Delicious. Back when I lived on the East Side and later in Riverwest, I would get delivery from here a lot. It was always faster than anticipated. "A-OK" sounds about right to me. read more

The first time I ordered from pizza shuttle I ordered a gyro, the tzatziki did not come in with order, the second time I ordered a chicken sandwich with Mayo, did not get the Mayo. on this third and final time after an hour and no order we called and they said we wanted to pick it up although we specified delivery and provided an address. Amanda there said she listened to recording and said we told her pick up. We received the 2 receipt s with same order number and one s delivery and one said pick up. I asked the first guy at the counter if I could get a single pizza slice with pineapple and green peppers. Just 1 slice, just 2 toppings. I'd pay extra for it if they had to make it separately. Sure, he said, just tell guy#2 next to him and he'll make it while guy#1 rings us up. I head 2 feet forward and tell guy#2 what I wanted. "You can't get that!", he says, seeming annoyed. Confused I order a plain slice. Guy#1 is playing on his phone. Wasn't he supposed to "ring me up"? Whatevs. We sit down in the large seating area. The cardboard we are eating is greasy. One of the "cooks" comes out from the back, all dressed in flour, to watch the basketball game that's on the TV next to us. He's right next to our table. He isn't 1 foot away, his apron is touching our table. At first we thought he came out to talk to us. What Pizza Shuttle lacks in quality, they make up for in low prices and by having a huge selection of toppings. I've definitely had better pizza elsewhere, but what makes Pizza Shuttle cool is that the prices are perfect for poor college students and they have tons of coupons and deals going on to keep prices low. They are also open until like 3am every night, so they are perfect for a late night snack, too. They also have ice cream, but I haven't had a chance to check that out yet. read more

Yes, I'm a fan of Pizza Shuttle. It's kind of embarrassing...but I am. I love that their menu is so big. I love the amazing number of topping options. I love that they deliver pints of ice cream. I don't love that sometimes their "comfort food," as I like to call it, is quite greasy. Ive been here a few times and for the most part the experience is satisfactory. Parking shouldnt really be an issue since it has its own garage. The food in general is perfect for a college student since its a.) cheap like crazy and b.) is sooo bad for you but it tastes good. Pizza slices are pretty big and are about a dollar. The garlic breadsticks are cheap as well and you get quite a few of them. In my opnion they aren't that great but are filling nonetheless. I went earlier in the day and late at night and I must say at night it attracts a rambunctious crowd. Kinda annoying actually but if you dont mind it then go for it. I cant comment on the ice cream or any deserts since I mostly go there for pizza. The waiting time varies: it was a surprisingly long wait for breadsticks but usually the pizza is ready as soon as you order it. All in all Pizza shuttle is a hit or miss depending on how you feel that day. My friend and I hit Milwaukee as a weekend adventure to nurse our recent breakups. of course we did this "nursing" with a lot of alcohol and bar hopping. So by the time we came back to our hotel in the middle of the night, we were 'drunk hungry', the kind of hungry where we're suddenly more hungry than we've ever been in our lives and could eat someone's face off (bath salts, anyone?)...cue Pizza Shuttle. The folks at the front desk of our hotel recommended Pizza Shuttle, which horrifies me since they used pleasing descriptive adjectives to sell us on ordering here (I assume it was because they received kick-backs from referring unsuspecting guests). We ordered: Large cheese pizza Garlic bread sticks (2) sodas - the sodas never arrived with the order. How did that happen? Once the pizza came, we dove into the pizza like we were fat kids at a birthday party. In one bite I was done. In fact, my friend left her withering piece on the nightstand as a stark reminder of the horror of this pizza. Literally - any other pizza in the world would trump this pizza. ANY other pizza. Frozen pizza from Aldi? Better. Ball park pizza, dropped on the ground with beer spilled on it? Better. This pizza was tasteless. It was hard to bite into (the crust was overcooked...or...?). The cheese was...was that even cheese? I mean, we're in Wisconsin of all places; I thought even if the crust and sauce fell flat, at least we'd get some ooey-gooey cheese, melt-in-your-mouth sensational cheese from the cheese capital of the US. Nope. Fake cheese? Maybe cheese from Idaho? The ONLY saving grace was the garlic bread. Those puppies were delicious. HOWEVER, totally doesn't make up for the cardboard, total flop of a pizza we left in the hotel room, cursing Pizza Shuttle as we left the next morning, hungry and $20 poorer. read more

Whatever commotion is milling about, the counter staff are stable, friendly, and efficient. The food is salty, dense and absorbent. It will satisfy your way into golden slumbers. And, GERD. I found this place to be exceptionally unexceptional. The buffalo wings were breaded . The sauce was okay, but there wasn't enough of it, and they gave me ranch instead of bleu cheese which I requested. The gyros sandwich was cold, and not very tasty. I got it delivered so I expected it to be luke warm, but I hoped it would be more than slightly cooler than room temp when it arrived. The pizza my wife got was pretty blah. There just wasn't that much flavor. We ordered pizza from there once before, and though it did show up hot that time, it still wasn't very good. Lastly, delivery came later than expected. I figured it would be 45 minutes to an hour, but it arrived somewhere between an hour fifteen and an hour and a half after I ordered. Let me begin by saying that my husband, his best friend, and my loyalty to the Shuttle has transcended a handful of not-super-great experiences there. Its Our Place. Its like our Cheers....with pizza. Our loyalty has gone beyond sensibility into a strong sense of affection, nostalgia and sentimentality. When my husband and the BF would be in charge of our dining plans for an evening, they would always start out with a more exotic idea: Salvadoran, Russian, African food....they would cycle through a dozen more ideas while we cruised around town. And then, we ALWAYS somehow wound up at the Shuttle. I found this amusing. And we never regretted it. Beyond my sentimental bias, I believe the Shuttle has the power to strike such loyalty within others. It has a warm atmosphere that shouts FUN. There are always others there seeming to be having big and rather loud fun. Youth, college students and families are all represented (families before 9 p.m.). And the menu? Contains everything you could be craving during an evening out and about. Yes, there is frozen custard. If you like Hawaiian pizzas, I highly recommend the Spicy Sunshine Chicken Pizza. Garlic Sauce, chicken, pineapple and cream cheese. CREAM CHEESE! ON A PIZZA! Again, I must use the word "transcend" to communicate to you what cream cheese does to what would otherwise be an ordinary Hawaiian pizza. Cream cheese to me is like chocolate and bacon: What food can it NOT improve? Discuss amongst yourselves. Seriously. Throw this out when there is an awkward lull in a social situation. Other Pizza Shuttle pluses: Their pizza crust is great. Has its own parking lot underneath itself, which on the East Side of Milwaukee, is like having an in-ground pool in the desert. Spotted Cow on tap. Very reasonable prices. Decently timed service. Creative pizza toppings available. Which reminds me... About the not-super-great experiences: The huz and the BF tried sauerkraut as a topping, and it turned out to be a big soggy lump on their pie. Although if you wanted to push back and say that those characteristics are ontologically inherent with sauerkraut, and WTH were they doing,ordering sauerkraut on a pizza anyway, I wouldn't disagree with you entirely. There were 4-5 times in a row where we ordered the special garlic butter crust, and it was entirely forgotten. We brought my in-laws there once. My mother-in-law caught a glimpse of the kitchen and was horrified by how dirty the floor was. Unfortunately on my last visit (Friday 9/9/11) I glimpsed the floor and found that her freak-out was not unfounded. On 9/9/11 the mike for the employee to use to announce order numbers that were ready for pick-up was turned up so loud it was painful. Several patrons including myself clapped their hands over their ears and grimaced in response. The Shuttle is currently boasting that it now has "patio seating", which I feel I must tell you is a couple of picnic tables between the parking lot and the sidewalk at ground level. There are several new establishments around Milwaukee that have absolutely stellar patio seating (I think of Cafe Hollander in Tosa and Cafe Benelux's rooftop seating by the Milwaukee Market). Perhaps they have set the bar unreasonably high. Whoah - that was almost a pun - a "bar" set up "high"? like on a rooftop? Ok. Maybe not. Because of the inconsistent pizza prep and the floor I have docked the Shuttle a star. But am and always will be a BIG FAN. If you go to the Shuttle take friends who won't be put off by a boisterous atmosphere and would enjoy creative pizza making and eating. Leave the in-laws at home. read more

I don't typically order late night weekend pizzas, so I've never had a bad experience. Pizza always arrives hot and as expected, if not better. One time we ordered an extra large 8-cheese Dairyland pizza, and they showed up with TWO PIZZAS. I guess they ran out of extra large crusts (?), so they gave us a large and a small to make up for it, no extra charge. It was so much pizza, and so much cheese. The three of us each got several meals out of that order, albeit not terribly healthy ones. My favorite at the moment, and something I wind up craving, is the white vegetarian specialty pizza. If I'm indulging (which, if I'm ordering shuttle, is pretty much a given) I get the garlic butter crust. It's a free upgrade, and they haven't forgotten it any of the times I've ordered. The first time I ordered the white veg. it was a bit drippy, but now I select the light sauce option and it's perfect. Cheesy, creamy, veggie laden, and flavorful, with a nice bit of smoky spice and a hint of sweetness in the peppers. Seriously good stuff. The couple of times that I've late-night drunk-ordered were fine. Delivery did take a while, but they warned us that it would be over an hour, so we were prepared, if a little disappointed. When the pizza arrived, it was just fine. A little hastily assembled, maybe, but not lacking in toppings or badly cooked. Or so I remember. I've been ordering from Pizza Shuttle for about 6 years. Every so often I get a special in the mail or via email (if you sign up through their site). That's the ONLY time I eat this pizza. It would never be a first choice place otherwise. Pizza Man is by far the best in my opinion... their artichoke with cream cheese and basil (add garlic) is sooo good. So, I think I am done with Pizza Shuttle for good. I received a special offer for a medium pizza so I decided to order delivery. Delivery charge was $2.75 and I gave the guy $5 to include his tip. Unless you get a large, the ratio of dough to actual cheese and toppings is about half of what you would expect for the diameter. It was basically a small pizza. I gave my dog all of the crusts and I think she was stuffed. A good pizza should go almost to the edges. Thin crusts are the way to go and especially if it's wood or stone fired. The quality of this pizza is about as good as something like grocery store pizza, brands like DiGiorno or Freshetta, etc. I would suggest that people just buy a few of these types of frozen pizza's and keep them at home, ready to use when you are craving fast food style pies. I can see how college kids wandering around Brady St. late at night wasted would crave this pizza. Plus most of their tastes aren't probably that refined either. I just had a sausage and mushroom thin crust delivered to my door today. The delivery's reliable so far, but the pizza's just awful. My only description of it is that it tasted like cardboard toppped with some low quality cheese and hardly any mushrooms. Sausage is kind of dry and the pizza's just overly greasy. Looking for a pizza place to deliver to my hotel, I came across Amy L's reviews below and knew this had to be the place. This was one of the best pizzas I have had in quite a long time. With so many great pizza places in the city, and such a variety of styles, why would you go with cheap and mediocre pizza? Because it's open really late, and that's where your friends want to go. I opted to get a pre-made slice. It was alright, but the ratio of toppings to crust stopped being okay at the crust. I felt like I was eating pizza and a loaf of bread. Don't get me wrong, I love a fluffy pizza (Woopwoop! Rocky Rococos!) but it has to be done right. This place also looks super sketchy. If you need to use the bathroom, you'll be tempted to ask if you belong in that area because you have to wander into the land of kitchen equipment and past the garbage-y stench. In the clutch,around 2or 3 am when you're just hungry and drunk to all hell pizza shuttle comes through in the clutch. The pizza can be hit or miss sometimes,but when they hit....dammit its amazing,especially sober! And they also have wings that are better than expected. We ordered the Wisconsin 3 cheese pizza, which was both extremely bland but had a very very strong basil taste in certain bites. As I mentioned before - I love pizza. Pizza Shuttle fills a certain need. If you are up late, if you are starving, if you are craving greasy pizza, this is the place for you! It will meet all those needs quite well. It is not fresh, but it is fast. It is not high brow but it is filling and good. The service is always helpful and friendly. The location is great for meeting up with friends before or after other activities. It is child friendly, I have been there on many occasions with my four year old - at a decent hour that is. It's a versatile place, like I mentioned above families, friends, even an occasional date night if we have been in the neighborhood. I don't have much to offer on the variety of the menu, other then they have some variety. We are purists and have only gotten their pizza when visiting there. It hits the spot. Next time you are out at midnight and craving pizza in their neighborhood they will be happy to serve you! read more

I will say it was greasy as hell, I mean there was a puddle of grease on the metal pan. It was kind of disgusting but the pizza was so good. When in Milwaukee, I will definitely be back! I was really disappointed with this place hands down the worst service I had in Milwaukee I ordered a 8 cheese pizza and my Partner ordered a pasta dish that cam with a salad and bread sticks, he also ordered a strawberry shake it was about 11pm on Saturday evening and the place was hopping but not overly so there were plenty of open tables my pizza was good but the crust was undercooked and a little doughy, and my partner got his pasta and salad but they forgot the Strawberry shake and the bread sticks, I had to go up 2 times to ask about the bread sticks, and both times the girl made a big deal like I was a problem customer or something, I just wanted the food we paid for I would like to go back and try some desserts but not sure if we will try dinner again as there are lots of good places to try in Milwaukee read more
