A great pizza spot in Queens. They offer slices and large pies only - so no different pie options. We wanted tomato sauce with fresh mozzarella on a pie and didn't see it listed as an option, but the guy behind the counter was accommodating and said they could make it, which I thought was nice. Sauce was great and not too acidic or tangy. Only gripe was that it could have been cooked a bit more, so we threw it in the oven when we got back to have it crisp up a bit more. Ever since they change owners to this little woman apparently who has major amounts of attitude and knows nothing they are horrible. I went in to get a slice and a snapple and i used my card and they had some thing happen where the card machine had to be reset so i checked my account and it came out of my account i showed them and he said to charge it again i said fine cause i know some time duplicates erase but when i charged again it said duplicate charge and it declined. So im asking what does that mean the dude doesn't know and said charge it again but this time for a different price im like hold up wheres the manager casue i don't want to get charged duplicate for my order. And now im questioning why you charging me a different price? So a woman come in says she is the owner so im trying to talk to her and ask what all of this mean cause if its pending its coming oput unless you cancel the transaction and it said duplicate and it canceled what does that mean? or can you cancel the last transaction so it doesn't go through and i get a proof of receipt that you canceled it. The owner goes on and says oh you know everything you tell me... in the end i walked out with out my lunch and still with an 8.49 charge on my card to dispute. im disgusted ive been going to pizza sam when it was him and the son and they were alwasy so nice never had a problem. read more

Walked into this pizzeria with some friends after work. Staff was very friendly and nice. Ordered a pie and sat down to eat when a friend of mine jumped up on his chair, and started yelling. There was a rat in the dining area running like crazy. Almost ran over our feet. We left our food and walked right out. A few weeks later I was walking past the pizzeria very late after they had closed, and there was a ton of garbage spread out across the sidewalk, all leftover food. To my surprise I watched not one this time, BUT 4 AT LEAST, big rats, running in and out of the bags heading towards the entrance of the pizzeria. I'm sure there's a hole they are using to go in and out. This concerns me deeply as having that many rats around a food business and no one taking care of the garbage outside. It's been a while since I've been to Sam's as its on the other side of the neighborhood but being a little lazy tonight decided to order pizza for delivery. Normally don't order pizza for delivery from any place as you never know how long it's going to take or how the pizza is going to arrive. What a pleasant surprise. The pizza arrived early and was absolutely delicious, hands down the best pizza I've had in years. Based on quality of food Id prob give 3 1/2 stars however two consecutive orders for pick up messed up. One via Yelp counter staff said order accidentally sent out with delivery person and waited 25 mins for new order. Currently ordered by phone and upon arrival staff at counter says somebody messed up the order and will need 15 mins. Gets a lil tiresome read more

This pizza used to be the best for years. I think they change the owner because the last time I went I had a extra large pie made to go and the flavor was just not the same as before. The sauce wasn't the same just didn't have that special thing that separates this Pizzeria from others. When barstool gave this an 8.4 it was one of the better pizzerias around. Their Sicilian slices and the Grandma slices are both pretty damn delicious and perfect examples of what NY pizza should be - complete with homemade sauce, tasty cheese and a delectable crust. I liked the fact that their slices had enough sauce so the slice won't be dry and crusty. I ordered chicken parm and eggplant parm sandwiches. So I found this place while waiting for a family member to arrive at LaGuardia Airport. I drove down from Westchester county. Let say that this was one of the best slices of pizza I had in awhile. the sauce Is flavorful and Robust and the Cheese is silky and smooth and the dough was thin and crunchy, there was no flop to it.
