While this Pizza Rustica location filled our needs - We were hungry for a slice of pizza and a beer and this place had both, and it seemed to be busy with a line 4 or 5 people deep waiting to order the entire time we were here, at the same time this place doesn't have the nearly the same variety of pizzas that their location on Lincoln Road has (for those unfamiliar, Pizza Rustica pre-bakes a variety of pizzas with various toppings, then places them in a display case. As customers order the individual slices, they're placed back in the oven for a few minutes to heat them and melt the cheese before serving). The first time we came here, we had a slice of the chicken fiorentina pizza to share and each got a beer and a bottle of water. There was plenty of seating both out front at tables on the sidewalk and inside the restaurant on stools that line a rail along the windows looking out toward 9th Street. There was also open seating at the countertop in front of the pizza oven. They had all the usual jars of grated cheese and crushed pepper to sprinkle on, as well as dispensers of napkins and plastic cutlery. The variety of beers was surprisingly good. The one area where this place needs a bit of work is with their customer service skills IMO. Last few times we've come here, there's always been one lady in particular working later on weekend evenings with very short/shaved hair who rarely smiles and certainly isn't warm and fuzzy toward the patrons. On one occasion we came at something like 1:45 and she refused to sell us beers with our meals. She just looked at us and said "No alcohol, it's late". When we explained that it wasn't even 2 a.m. yet, she glared at us, shook her head and said "No alcohol this late!!". OK? read more

Doesn't look like much strolling by washington but the line of steady greedy hot beach goers or strollers walking around south beach let's you know this is one of the affordable pizza to grab abc go or eat outside on sidewalk options. I used Uber eats for the food delivery. That took away to get to me but the food was still hot. The pizza was smaller than I expected. Sizes were not indicated on the site. But it was great just wish it was bigger fir the price. read more

Been coming to this pizza joint on the beach since high school (back in 2005). The years of pie baking goodness definitely has the entire block looking around to find out where the smell is coming from. The squared pizza cut into many pieces is an awesome way to share with other ppl so you get a variety of styles. read more

I would like to start by saying that I would normally give this place 4 stars because this is my favorite place in Miami for pizza! However, Friday night was a different story! Terrible experience! They apparently have started something new at this location and that's table service! So ALL of the tables outside at night on the weekends are table service ONLY!! Wtf??!! Why would I want to tip a waitress to bring me ONE slice of pizza literally 10ft!! C'mon now!! So that limits all the normal customers to sit inside where there are only like 7-8 stools up against the window. Seating is extremely limited in this popular location as it is and now you want to take that away! How much are you really making in tips if I ordered one $6 slice of pizza! Come during the daytime to avoid this seating catastrophe! So I obviously take my slice to-go because all of the stools were taken! I walk about 2 blocks away to sit on the sea wall by the beach and realize that my pizza is BARELY warm! I watched her put it in the oven to heat it up like they normally do! But apparently she didn't heat it up long enough and had I been sitting at the restaurant I would have had them heat it up again, no big deal! BUT with this stupid table service, I'm now 2 blocks away and not walking back! The hanger is building at this point!! So I just eat my lukewarm slice and silently curse Pizza Rustica and the moron that can't heat up a slice of pizza properly! read more

I really wanted Mega Pizza bc a friend said how good it was but when i arrived they were closed (even though it says they are open 24hours). So my uber driver suggested this as a substitute. The pizza was really tasty and HUGE !! i had one slice and could barley finish it. The staff was kind; customer service was good !! The price for 2 slices was $20, but like i said the slice is HUGE so it's worth the $10. The do have seating inside and out !! If I have to sum it up: the best pizza we have ever tasted! Very very good. We had the vegetable pizza with a thin crust and grilled vegetables and a salad. We sat outside; the setting isn't perfect but interesting with Miami street life. Don't expect anything fancy but if you enjoy well prepared delicious pizza check out this place! read more

Still the best pizza in Miami! even after 25 years!This location and the one in Lincoln are the originals and the best comes from them. I've been eating their pizza since the early 90's! and it's been consistently amazing and delicious. You must try the Rústica, it's delicious! And full of fresh, flavorful veggies, including artichoke hearts, the crust is always perfectly crispy; such a great combination. When you're walking down the street and you have a itch for a slice of pizza, you just kind of expect eh. Not here! Right next to our hotel (moxy) and the pizza was surprisingly delish! I had the sausage which had a little kick to it, but not so much that it kicked back. Extra large slices too. This is better than your drive by pizza and I'm confident we'll go back before we leave the area! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Pino P.

Pino Piroso, creator and owner of Pizza Rustica, has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant business. Piroso began to develop his passion for food at an early age, watching his mother in the kitchen creating authentic Italian dishes. When Pino first moved to Miami Beach, he had a vision to open a restaurant serving top-quality Roman-style pizza made with high-quality ingredients. He also wanted the pizza to be enjoyed by everyone. Since 1996, Piroso has put his heart and soul into building Pizza Rustica in that vision. So my very high level of anticipation may certainly be partially to blame for my average-ish experience. I was pleasantly surprised to get a table with no wait at ~6:30 on a Wednesday evening. Staff were attentive and friendly. Prices were high, as expected, but at least the pizzas are of reasonable size. The $32 pasta portion probably could've been a bit more generous. But anyway, on to why we're all here - The Pizza: The crust had a great crunch but I felt lacked nuance beyond that, no chew and a touch on the dry side. Cheese and sauce were fine but also unremarkable. The heaps of basil provided some bright freshness that was definitely appreciated. I feel even more compelled now to try the NYC location for comparison! This wasn't a bad pizza by any stretch but not something I would ever pick over my favorite NYC standouts.
