Great new spot with an awesome 80s Spotify playlist. We had the chopped salad-Amazing! The wings were great too. We had mild and Parmesan garlic-Great! We also had a traditional cheese pie-really, really good! The beer was ice cold and our waitress, Jamie, was amazing. Had a good time tonight. Pizza was surprisingly good, service was friendly, the menu has some different choices than you would get Other places. I do wish they had a few more beers on tap.... beer and pizza, I mean c'mon! A little pricier than expected but the taste was worth it. Only 2 sizes of pizza- medium and large. That said we had a great time, it's a place I'd bring the kids (they have a dining room separate from the bar) or stop with friends after work. They are open for dining in or take out during Covid. Accountability. Mistakes happen. Bad judgement happens. If you make a mistake with a customer, own it. Learn it. Move on, or your customer will. This is the essence of tonight's experience. Tonight was our third time coming to Pizza Rock since coming to the Riverview/Brandon area. Always on the quest for a great pizzeria, it's always a good thing when you find a place that has an amazing pie. The first visit to the Rock was during the week around 11:15 but they hadn't yet opened for business even though the sign said 11. Oh well things happen. Last week, we decided to try our luck again to see if they were open and indeed they were. Was seated promptly and ordered the cheesy garlic bread and The Butcher pizza. They do a traditional NY style and a signature Brooklyn style. You should check them out, we opted for the traditional NY style. OMG, it was simply amazing. We finished the entire pie right then and there. Perfectly crispy and chewy, how a pizza should be. The experience was so good, we decided to go back again tonight, in what we hoped to be a weekly tradition. Unfortunately, this will not be the case. Tonight we arrived around 6:50 as a party of 3. The girls at the front were nice, with one of them being her first day and being trained by the other. Was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for seating, so we said ok and decided to wait. The pizza is worth it! To save time, we put in an order for another butcher which was expected to take 25 minutes or so, which would be perfect timing. Or so we thought. After about 10 minutes a group got up and left. The young lady who was doing the training began bussing the table, no problem. She had been finished cleaning and replacing the table when around 715 a group of 4 came in. Immediately greeted the group, asked how many, and went to immediately prepare a table for them. I don't know if it was the new girl mentioning something, or if it just clicked then and there that you had another group waiting to be seated as well, because that's when she began preparing the area for two parties. Not to service the party that was already there. By this time it's 720. I canceled our order and decided to leave. Went to pay for my son's drink and she gave me back the money and asked me to leave because I was trying to convey to her that it shouldn't take another party coming into your establishment for you to take action on a party that's already there. Not raising my voice, not angry, just disappointed. I get it. Maybe you keep that area reserved for large parties. The reality is she could've split the section 5 minutes earlier and didn't. Unfortunately her attitude would not accept that reality. This place has an amazing pie with a crust that is really tasty. Truly a hidden gem. But tonight, you moved me to find another local establishment. I truly believe in mom&pop's pizzerias like the Rock. The chains can't match the flavor. But just having a superior product does not guarantee continued success. Service always needs to be superior. I hope this experience changes things for the better. read more

We ordered takeout for the first time from here. Went to pick it up and the place was dark and thought it looked closed. Opened the door and it was bright and active. Full bar area and lots of people. Got the Tuesday special with pepperoni and a Greek salad. Both were very good and filling. We ate here as a family Friday evening, and I thought it was pretty good! Their chopped family salads are huge and can feed 5-6 people. The brick oven pizza was good except for the burnt edges. AMAZING!!! Marty's chop salad is my new go to salad! So delicious!!! It comes with 4 toasted baguettes with a seasoned olive oil dipping sauce. My husband and I go at lunch and he gets the $5.50 pizza lunch special, 2 slices of pie with a side salad or French fries and I get the 1/2 Marty's salad and we split it all. Ordered from this place last night after scrolling through Yelp and seeing the good reviews. We ordered The Fig and the Pig pizza with a large Greek salad. Unfortunately our uber driver sucked and forgot our salad, so I called Pizza Rock and told them what happened. They were so kind and personally delivered our salad to us. The pizza was AMAZING. Perfectly cooked, and the crust a little burnt but crispy from their wonderful pizza oven (how it should be cooked). The tanginess of the goat cheese matched perfectly with the fig, balsamic drizzle, and prosciutto. The salad was also very good; they gave the Greek salad their own twist by adding chick peas and salami. I will definitely be ordering from them again! Support your gem local businesses, not these chain restaurants. Wish I took a picture, but I couldn't wait to dive in. read more

We had the Meatball sandwich, which was very good and the Gyro which was okay. The gyro meat was crispy ... side salads which were simple but very tasty. But our surprise came when we had ordered wine, they were not normal sized wine glasses and the one glass of wine was the same price as my sandwich. So first of all when you walk in and smell the wood burning oven you know it's going to be good. I was not disappointed. We started with the cheese bread. Seriously some of the best cheese bread I have ever had. You could just taste the freshness of the bread and the cheese. You could also tell they don't use cheap cheese. Now on to the main event. The pizza. We had The Butcher. Again some of the best pizza I have ever had. The crust, the sauce, the toppings. Everything was so good and so fresh. Love this place. Love the theme and style. The one thing I personally don't like is the pizza, mainly cause of the style, it's kind of different from your average NY style. This is the 2nd attempt at trying this place and nothing but horrible experience. The 1st time I went on a Sunday and they were supposed to close at 7pm bc it was a recommended place so I show up at 4 pm and they seat me then come to tell me they are closing so didn't even serve me. It's 3 hours before closing made no sense. Today an online order was placed at 6:20 pm and it said delivery at 7:15. The time comes no pizza so we call and the dumbass who answers says I turned off the online ordering but my card was charged, so sat around an hour waiting on something that's not coming and no communication. The place doesn't close till 10pm. This place sucks never will there be another attempt to eat here. No I'm sorry let me make it right or anything. read more

We've tried about 5 other places around Brandon and the Brooklyn style from Pizza Rock is hands down our favorite. Would give 5 stars but that pepperoni is terrible. They are thick and small in diameter so become oil/grease cups. I'd rather see something more refined, thinner, larger in diameter. Like you'd buy for a higher end salami. Just my 2 cents. 5 stars doesn't do it justice. The best wood fired pizza I've ever had. Salads were ENORMOUS and so good. We had the Brooklyn Rock pizza and it was absurdly good. This place is pretty busy and I loved the aroma of the fresh cooked pizza. I feel it may be a bit pricey. I definitely recommend the Marty salad! Will definitely return for that.
