I live very close to this restaurant and have never ever tried it, but I was craving a cheesesteak and this came up in my Yelp search so I thought I would give it a go. Oh mylanta!!! This was exactly what I wanted. I keep trying cheesesteaks from places, getting lame cheesesteaks, being disappointed, and never curing my craving. This placed cured it! It's a tiny little spot, and we did not dine in. It has typical pizza shop vibes. The staff was absolutely friendly and pleasant. My boyfriend and I both got cheesesteaks with fries. Their fries are ok. Their cheesesteak was out of this work. The meat was flavorful, tender, and seasoned perfectly. It was perfectly cheesy. The veggies added so much flavor, and the bread was fantastic. I will be back over and over again! read more

Ordered an 18" pepperoni and pineapple, my family loved it! Owner was in the back making everything fresh, and truly cared about his food. He was eager to either leave your pizza in the oven longer, or take it out to leave it undercooked and floppy if that's your preference. We just moved to the neighborhood and Formaggios had solid pizza reviews. I ordered in store so it was hot and fresh, a cheese pizza with sliced sausage topping. I'm admittedly a pizza snob, lived in New Haven CT area for 25 years. The pizza was just ok, no better than the Papa John' s I got in metro Atlanta. The biggest disappointment was that the sausage was large crumbles, not sliced like advertised on the menu. The sliced sausage works better for me - you get some crispy edges that way. The crust was chewy, but there was not a crispy bottom. Sauce and cheese fine, nothing remarkable. Overall, call me disappointed. If this pizza showed up in a Papa John's box, it would have met my expectations. I expected more from an independent guy. read more

I just picked up my first pie here tonight. My local friends had told me this is the best pizza locally. I've gotten pizza at two local places. One was just ok, the other very good. This place has been the very best, so far, if you like NYC style pizza. The crust is very thin. All of the ingredients are good quality and delicious. The only thing I would say, but way of recommendation, not criticism, is that the mushrooms didn't seem fresh. I think that fresh mushrooms would contribute to both texture and flavor. Update: 6/6/16 Oh my, what in the world happened to Formaggio's in the span of 2 months? Ordered delivery from here a couple days ago & was VERY disappointed to say the least. I've placed delivery orders numerous times with the owner in the last 6 months, but never with such hostility & snark. The last 2 times I ordered, he said, "Sorry, I'm closing early". Okaaaay. Tried again. This time, he made it perfectly clear that, in order for him to bring my food to me, I'd need a "minimum order of $20", which has never been required before. I guess times must be tough? Ordered large sausage & bacon pizza & garlic-cheese breadsticks. Both arrive late, when the business closes. Owner obviously planned this delivery for when he was going home for the night so we ate very late, well after the dinner hour. I pay $30, not including tip. I hate that :/ Pizza looks like a big grease ball & tastes like it, too (tried to blot the grease, it just lifted the messy cheese!). I ate 1 piece & it sat in my stomach all night like a heavy rock. The rest went in the garbage the next day. The garlic breadsticks were reheated the next day, cheese didn't reheat right, went in the garbage. Garbage food. Never again. I'm done. We love the pizza, calzone & meatball subs, but I had a disappointing steak & cheese sandwich tonight. I know I should not be getting a steak & cheese at a pizza place, but I'm trying to make a slightly healthy food choice & this was it. Anyway. I ordered a very simple large cheese pizza two hours later after two calls I was told it would not be coming. I was told that the driver was there which was baloney cause I left the front door open with the screen door closed I was sitting in the living room and I have a dog so if anyone came to the door I would've known about it very easily.
