It's alright. Pide is made fresh so it was very hot once ready. Flavour wise... quite mehhh. We ordered the "variety pide" which had various "flavours". The best one was this shreddy-looking meat one. There's spinach-cheese, pepperoni(?), chicken, and shreddy-meat. We also got a ground beef and egg. It was just mediocre as well - the egg was totally overcooked. It also comes with raw onions, tomatoes, and little peppers. This adds a bit of fresh dimensions and crunch. Pretty underwhelming experience, not rly worth the price.

Delicious and best of all it's HALAL! Literally amazing, I almost have no words. It has to be the most underrated place. Since I tried it, I have a constant craving. Made to order, so you know it's very fresh. The Turkish sausage was to die for. I loved everything that I ordered, which was number 11 and 17. Funny that I happen to stumble upon this place completely by chance. I was going to a different restaurant that was closed on family day and a sweet lady actually pointed me to pizza pide. Thank you sweet lady!!!!!!

My first time having pide and my life will never be the same. I came here with a Turkish friend and he said the dough here was light compared to other places, so you can probably eat the whole pide without wanting to throw up. I had the #18 which is the mix that gives you a sample of everything. My favourite was the feta and spinach, the ground beef, and the Turkish sausage. The chicken one was very bland- I don't recommend it. For $13 a pide, you'll leave happy. 100% coming back.

I feel an update is due. After the dip in quality for a while they have somewhat redeemed themselves with the delivery options. Since my go to Pide place won't deliver as I am too far I ended up ordering delivery as wanted a change from the regular trusty pizza joint. The delivery was quick and the food arrived reasonably warm. I think they have improved their dough a bit the toppings are still not the old great stuff but acceptable for sure. I added the Turkish sausage for good measure. Now being able to pair my fav poison with the pide I think they are a good alternative to one's regular pizza. 3.5 stars

My Turkish friend brought me here. We park at Gerard Square. It's a small place but this freshly baked authentic Turkish pizza was really good and delicious with variety of great toppings to choice. Friendly staff. Ayran for my yogurt drink and spinach, cheese, flaky- tasty chewy pizza crust with some hot picked peppers and lemon on the side.

Turkish Pizza? Lahmacun is really "meat with dough", is a traditional eastern item of prepared food of Turkish origin consisting of a round, thin soft piece of dough topped with spicy sauce and minced meat (most commonly beef and lamb) and straight leaved parsley. * Pizza Pide is located right across from Gerrard Square. Not my usual area but I am more than willing to travel for food.... - Karisik ($9.99) different toppings on every slice on a thick crust dough - Lahmacun ($6.99) ground beef blended with tomato, onion and spice on a thin crust I was a little bit disappointed on the spiciness level. But overall, the food was fresh and made to order... If you need a carb fix, definitely order the Karisik as it was more bread like. The fresh onion, parsley, pickled chili and a squeeze of lemon juice did make the "pizza" less heavy as I washed them down with a salted yogurt drink. I was eyeing this #21, Ground Beef with 2 Sunny Side Up Eggs?? This strangely reminded me of some Chinese food... Chinese Pizza?? * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lahmacun

My boyfriend is obsessed with this place so he had to bring me to try it. Pizza Pide is a small neighborhood store serving pizza and Turkish pide (as the name suggests). We ordered the Assorted Pide (comes in 4-5 flavours) and the Lahmacun. As they make it fresh upon order, expect the wait for your food to be ~15-20 min. Presentation was on point though - our pide was brought out along with a heap of herbs, onions, tomatoes and pickled peppers. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but I can't say I've been converted to a die-hard Pizza Pide fan. My favourite flavour was the Roasted Lamb, followed by the Lahmacun. I found that accompanying your side with the sauces and vegetables provided adds that additional layer of complexity in flavour, so I would highly recommend.

My husband took me to this place for a quick lunch on my birthday. It was the first time a tried a turkish pizza. We got an assorted one and each assortment had it's own charm. Though I wasn't expecting too much out of spinach and cheese but it turned out amazing and became one of my favorite toppings for a turkish pizza. Since then I have tried it some other places as well so I can say without a doubt that it is by far the best. Going back again today :) YAYYYYY!!

This might be my new fatty indulgence at lunch on a Friday afternoon. Generous sizes (one pizza would be enough for two people) with good prices ($7-9 each) and lots of choice, this is a unique pizza joint, that serves a turkish style pizza. Its a piece of dough, with toppings, and then 'wrapped' before putting it in the pizza oven. I liked that the dough wasn't thick and was crispy. There's different flavours, lamb, salami, chicken, spinach and cheese and a version that includes a bit of everything so you can try. I recommend the lamb. I couldn't finish it all, and took half home to the hubby who fully enjoyed it after re-toasting it. The photo shows 3 pizzas he put on a wooden platter for us.

Before I start anything, I need to confess that this is the second time I had pide in my life. I don't know what the standard is, BUT the one I had was just out-of-the-world. I am talking about a thin crusted, overly stuffed pide freshly baked in the wood-fired oven for only $9-13. We came here on Thursday to grab a quick bite for dinner. Warning: they do not have AC and the heat from the oven makes the place really hot. They have about seven tables, so you can still eat there. Despite the hot weather we decided to eat there since we wanted to have the food when they are freshly out from the oven. It was well worth the sweat!!!! We got #10 (cheese and veggies) and #16 (braised lamb and mozzarella).Including tax and tip, we paid $31 for two of us. The crust was so thin you barely recognize it. STUFFED with goodness. Just absolutely delicious. You also get complimentary fresh parsley, slices of onions, pickled peppers and lemon wedges to balance out the heaviness and greasiness of pides. Two women working there, they were very polite and friendly. They also have regular pizzas but seems like most people get pides here. Just trust me and try their pide!!! You won't get disappointed.

Not only the food was delicious, but the owner gave us Baklava for free as we waited for our Pide a bit longer. We didn't mind the waiting though - smells so great inside. All in all a very nice experience, call in first if you want to get a take out as the place's so good it will be probably crowded.

I finally had some time today to check this place out. I really enjoyed my "Lahmacun". The lady who helped me was super friendly and I watched her make my pizza which was very cool. Great friendly atmosphere and I really enjoyed this dish. I want to try them all.

Pizza Pide sits on a completely unremarkable corner, in an unremarkable building, across from an unremarkable mall (see Gerrard Square above - they are trying though), YET, as you might expect from the sly repetitive word setup, they are, indeed anything BUT unremarkable. As you can see from the photos posted, their take on pizza is quite different than anything ive ever seen. Aside from the different appearance, the dough itself is perhaps more pastry like - more like challah, like a blueberry bun (might be a bit too jewish of a reference but im trying to bring everyone together here...). This texture makes for a nice change of pizza pace. Moreover, fried eggs on pizza!!! Of course. It's even great to chomp on the fresh onions, parsley and tomatoes they include with your pizza. Now, don't be fooled by the photos because each pizza is probably the side of 2 calzones, but not as doughy. Havent tried any other other turkish fare there other than the pizza, but no doubt these recipes come from tradition, family and love and you can feel it with each bite. So its just to say you wont have to twist my arm to feast on a kebab or two. The harder it is for me to pronounce the more i want it. the only drawback, is the ambience, of which there is none. but hey, its a pizza joint. take it home and eat in bed.

Delicious Turkish pizzas at a decent price. The lamb one was my favourite but all that we sampled were really tasty.

It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Nice local Italian restaurant that is enjoyed by us locals as well as those who come down for shows…read moreat the St Lawrence ctr for the arts and the Meridian Hall as well as sports fan here for games. They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
