As one of the original spots for authentic Turkish cuisine in Toronto, Mustafa offers delicious flavours and generous portions from their pides, kebabs and #shawarma to share with friends and family! From the Iskender Kebab Platter to Adana Kebab to freshly baked Pides made from fresh ingredients and dough, there is lots of new dishes to sample and to enjoy! Available for dine in and take out, Mustafa will continue to provide hot and fresh dishes to enjoy for any season and time!
On all fronts, Mustafa is good to great and I really recommend coming to dine in. The service was helpful and very efficient, and the interior was quite nice with the cave-like decor. The food was good overall, not the best Turkish food I've had in the city but still good. The meat of Alinazik was particularly good, very juicy and tender.
This is a great spot for Tirkush food, I especially like their iskender, the portion is very generous, with half of it I feel pleasantly fed and full. I drink spicy turnip juice with it.
A friend suggested checking out this restaurant, was a good choice for me cause it was close by to my work. Small resto with interesting cave like decor. I never had Turkish food before so it was interesting to check out. Not a very extensive menu. We opted to try the mixed meat kebab plate. Came with beef, chicken and Kafka chunks on a bed of rice and traditional bread. Everything was cooked well, but could have been seasoned more. I liked the rice, it was light and fluffy. I also liked the bread, very thin and went well with the Kebabs. But honestly it was wasn't anything special. We also tried the Baklava and Turkish goat milk ice cream. I'm glad tried the ice cream. It was very rich and creamy and not like any ice cream I've tried before. The staff were all friendly and attentive. This restaurant was worth the try but the food was not ground breaking. We didn't try the pizza, perhaps next time. 3.5*
Ordered via Über. This place never disappoints. We ordered the lamb and mozzarella pidé and the lamb and beef pidé. Each pidé arrives with a fresh salad with gorgeous feta cheese. We waited way too long before we ordered Mustafas treat during this pandemic! Why!?This place was always busy when we dined in, regardless of the time of day or evening. Refined home style Turkish food. On point freshness, flavors and quality of ingredients. A bit more expensive, worth every penny and calorie.
Came here with some coworkers for dinner. We ordered 5 Turkish pizzas for the 5 of us. The meal came with complementary soup or salad which was a great start to the meal. We enjoyed all the items we ordered! Pizzas were cheesy, savoury with crispy crust. Some of my favorites were #2 and #5. (I believe they were the beef and lamb Turkish pizza) The portions were great and the price was very fair. Highly recommend!
Food was decent. We especially enjoyed the minced beef pide. Very reasonable priced. Space was small but didn't have to wait on a Sunday evening. They don't have tap water, only bottled water for purchase. Slightly strange. Food came quickly, but service was close to none existence. Would probably better be a takeout place.
I came in with my SO for a late night snack, so we got a Lamahcun Pizza for pick up, process was fairly simple, and we got our pizza about 10 minutes after ordering, which was extremely quick. Unfortunately, we didnt get to eat the pizza for another 30 minutes when the pizza cooled down and got a little bit soggy. The flavor was still excellent, and they added an extremely generous amount of meat to go with the pizza. I definitely want to try the dish again while its hot and crispy, and since tue restaurant has an interesting interior that resembles a cave, I think a return visit is in order the next time I visit Toronto!
Came here over the weekend as my friends and I want to try different types of cuisines. We opt-in for this place as it's unique and the reviews were pretty good. As I drive by, I saw there were no available parking space. So we parked on a side street. We walked a bit and then we got to the restaurant and once we got in. This place is packed!!!!! There were lots of people waiting in line. And any restaurants with lots of people lining up and every table is filled with people means the food is good. So we put my name down and started the wait. About 30 minutes or so, my name was called. We were asked if we want to share a table, I was like that's cool. So we sat down and started the ordering process. We picked a few dishes: 2 pizzas and a meat dish plus dessert. Honestly it's my first time to try Turkish cuisine so I had no expectations. The food came out piping hot after about 20 minutes of waiting. The pizza tasted so amazing!!!! Must add the lemon juice provided on the side. This adds an extra layer of flavour. The crust is so thin and it is totally different than Italian pizzas. The meat dish in tomato sauce came out after. The beef was so tender and the tomato sauce makes it more yummy. The bread on the bottom soaked up all the yummy juice. Overall experience was pretty good.
STAY AWAY! I don't understand how this restaurant passed their Public Health Inspection! There were cockroaches on the bathroom floor! Once you see that there is one cockroach, there will be many more in the building and in the KITCHEN! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I don't understand how they have their Green Pass, because this is clearly a Conditional Pass and a repetitive offence from the history I can find on google. I will also be doing my civil duty by reporting them. I only wish I realized this before I ate and not after. The gross detail aside, the wait time for this restaurant is simply not worth it. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table and another 50 minutes for the food. There also is no particular order by which customers are served, as I saw some tables that were seated later, getting their food earlier. The food looks great and very appetizing, however looks can be deceiving. The pizzas were a little bland and were missing spices. The Doner meat was barely even salted--what a shame! What's keeping this restaurant afloat? The service. All of the waiters are simply wonderful and so attentive. I could not believe how hard everybody was working, despite how slow the kitchen was. This restaurant spent a good year in my bookmarks and I wish I never went. Do yourself a favour, eat elsewhere!
This was my first time trying turkish pizza. This place is close to Yorkdale Mall. This place has a neat interior, cave-like structure that gives off a great atmosphere. We ordered the assorted pizza and the turkish sausage. It comes with complimentary salad. We really enjoyed the assorted pizza where we tasted a little bit of everything. There was slices of feta, lamb, turkish sausage, chicken, and ground beef. The lamb slice was our favourite! The crust was interesting, thin and crispy, kind of like a toasted pita texture. We also tried their yoghurt drink and the taste we are not accustomed to. It's more on the sourish taste instead of the sweet taste we were use to. Overall, this was a great experience. The interior gives off a nice atmosphere and the food was yummy!
I went rather late to get Turkish pizza to go. The vibe was very cool, especially with the cave like ceiling on top. There is parking in a small parking lot, but it does get crowded (might have to park in a different parking lot). we looked at the menu and decided to get Lahmacun pizza, after some nice people gave us suggestions on what to get. We ordered to go, and the estimated time they gave us was 15 minutes. We ended up only waiting 5-10 minutes, so the service was fast. When we ate the pizza, it was unlike other pizzas we had. It was thin and soft, and the cumin flavor was rich with the cheese and the meat. I really wish we got more! Would come here again to try different varieties.
Cute and cozy restaurant with approximately 8 booth-style tables. The decor is very interesting. You almost feel like you are inside a cave. Service was decent. We dined on a Thursday night for dinner I am vegetarian and ordered the assorted veggie and feta pizza ($16) and my boyfriend ordered the assorted pizza ($16). The pizza was unlike anything I've tried before. It reminded me of a French Gallette with the toppings in the middle and the dough folded over on the sides. Overall, it was tasty and an interesting experience. Note, we ordered the Salgam drink to try. It tasted like a mixture of beet and pickle juice. It wasn't our cup of tea.
Loved the mini Cappadocia vibe -- it felt so cozy. The service was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We started with a salad, followed by a mixed grill kebab platter served with lahmacun bread. All of the BBQ meats were nicely charred and packed with flavour. I especially enjoyed the Adana and beef kebabs. When we opened the homemade flatbread, hot steam came out -- which was so cool. We tried both the lahmacun and the spinach & feta pide, and they were delicious. It was also my first time trying Beyti kebab. It's basically Adana wrapped in flatbread with cheese, served with tomatoes and yogurt. Such a great dish! I also tried a fermented carrot and turnip drink called Şalgam (the spicy version). It was salty, spicy, and really tasty -- it paired perfectly with the meal. We enjoyed every single dish here and will definitely be back. read more
We had a lovely Turkish dinner here on a whim, and was happy with our choice. We got doner dinner plate, and one of their flatbreads called lamacan. I enjoyed the different seasonings and textures in each dish. The meal also comes with a side salad and bread, which was a welcome addition. I especially liked the fresh bread, as it made the perfect wrap with some doner meat. Fun ambiance as they have made the bold choice to decorate like you are inside a white stone cave. An interesting environment as you enjoy your meal! read more

This place is AMAZING in terms of food that I just had to give five stars! The wait is a while and a little confusing if you haven't been, but essentially you write down your name and number of guests on a notebook and stand around until your name is called. Food is amazing!! Seriously was licking the plates! Portions are MASSIVE when it comes to the meat plates. Three of us shared a plate of meat with yogurt and sauce (sorry totally forgot the name ) and the assorted pizza. It was more than enough. From the assorted pizza my favorite slice was the feta and spinach. The pizzas come bubbling hot and totally remind you of the authentic pizzas from turkey. Desserts are amazing as well! Seriously come here! It is so worth the commute!! Come hungry!!! read more

We came to Mustafa on a Sunday at 12:30 for lunch. We stood at the front for 5 minutes without anyone approaching us, and finally we stood at the counter and someone took our order. Then we were told to sit at a table. We saw that other customers who came after were greeted and seated by a server so I'm not sure why we weren't. No water offered (later we found out from observing we were supposed to take drinks from their fridge on our own and they did not offer cups of water, you have to pay for bottled water -$2 for a Kirkland bottle). We ordered the sausage pide and a pastrami pide. Food took about 20 minutes to come to our table. They served us a complimentary house salad - I found the dressing incredibly sour but my boyfriend liked it, he likes sour foods. As for the pides - the meat ruined both of them for us. They just tasted so off. The sausage was palatable but the pastrami had a weird smell and a worse taste. Also, it was dripping with some sort of watery substance (not oil) - you couldn't pick it up without your hands being covered in this juice. I'm not a picky person at all but I really couldn't stomach it and we probably left 70% of the meal behind. Maybe we would have been better off ordering a veggie option. The crust was okay and there was plenty of cheese but the meat was just awful. On top of that, the presentation was just so sloppy - there was a copper plate with a piece of paper on top, a paper plate (??) and then the pide just thrown on. I've had pide at other restaurants and part of the experienfe is seeing that long masterpiece. Service also lacked so I can't really give this place above a 1. No one checked on us and we had to get up to pay our bill, ask for water, no one cleared our table. Would not return. read more
Wow! This has to be one of my favourite Turkish restaurants hands down! We did have to wait a little bit as the line up was out the door, which is apparently the usual at this restaurant. That just made my mouth water though because it shows how good it is! We ordered the pides that came with an assortments of stuffings. My favourite was the one with cheese and beef. I would definitely go back for more! The service was amazing, servers were very kind and brought out a complimentary salad right as we took our seat Can't wait to go back for more! read more
After seeing the pictures, I took my coworkers to this location for lunch. As soon as we got their, we were seated and let me tell you the place is decorated very nicely and it just adds goodness to the dinning in experience. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu as this was out first time trying out a Turkish Pizza. Excitement was in the air and I went on ordering Karisik, which was an assorted pizza of their most popular flavours, giving me a sample of each. There was slices of feta, lamb, Turkish sausage, chicken, and ground beef. The ground beef was my favourite one from all. The meal came with a fresh salad and an imported Turkish pops. Overall, We all enjoyed our experience. For my Muslim Folks- They serve halal meat at this location. read more
I would actually give this place about 3.75 Stars, which I rounded up to 4. It was very solid, freshly made, and with great ingredients, but my main critique was that the overall effect was, for me, a very lightly-topped, under-sauced, under-flavored Pizza, but well made from really good ingredients. I had the assorted Pide, and it was quite good, but just not quite up to all of the rave reviews that I suppose had set my expectations very high. The decor is very funky and over the top, with it's slightly claustrophobic cave theme and slab wood furniture, but fun. So, to summarize, if I'm comparing this to Pizza Pizza, there's absolutely no contest, and this place completely blows them away. But if I'm comparing Mustafa to my FAVORITE pizza places, it would be in the second-tier of "fall back joints", that I would visit only if the places I like best were unavailable. My impression was also that the serving-size-to-price ratio was a little bit high based on a typical pizza joint, as the unique football shape fold reduces the overall surface area and therefore quantity of toppings when compared to a round Pizza, but despite these minor quibbles, I actually enjoyed it, so 4 stars it is. read more

This is the best Turkish restaurant I have ever been. A Turkish friend recommended to me about it. I drove all the way from a hotel near airport. It is worth to try. I had mixed pede and my family had Beef Kebab. They are all so delicious. Owner Mustafa is very friendly. Ice cream and Kadafe added the highlight to our delicious festive lunch. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and appreciate my Turkish friend who recommended this place to me. I will visit this place again. read more
We came here on a Saturday night - the front door was blocked off and everyone was lined up in the back to get one of the very limited tables or for takeout. It was a rather messy situation where the back door entrance to the kitchen was used for everyone to get into the restaurant. There was no formal system to order the food - nobody was really there to take our order. It was actually a rather extremely unsanitary situation given all the customers had to walk through the kitchen. I hope that it was a one-time situation, but no explanation was really provided. Having said that, the food itself was great. We ordered #18 Karisik ($16 before tax) which was sort of like a sampler of 4 kinds of toppings that came with a salad. We shared it between 2 people and didn't realize it was more of a personal pizza size. The crust was flavourful and soft and toppings were really good. I'd definitely consider coming back... but hope the situation with seating/takeout was just a one-time ordeal. read more

This is probably my favourite restaurant just because of their doner. I am amazed by two things every single time I go; 1. How delicious the doner and iskendar are. And 2. How terrible their staff's english and common sense skills are. Dont waste your time with the pizzas, try both the doner with rice and iskendar. read more

Been coming here for years and it is hands down, the best Turkish restaurant in the city. They seem to be known for their delicious pides (Turkish style Pizza) which you can get vegetarian or with ground beef or beef sausage (no pork served). If you can't decide on which pizza to order, there an option to have all of their popular ones together in one pide. Yum! For any meat lovers however, the star of the place is the Iskander. This beauty consists of a generous portion of thinly sliced beef topped with a tomato sauce on a bed of bread and yogurt. This is melt in your mouth savory goodness that dreams are made of. Truly and honestly, you can't get better than this. The servers are incredibly nice despite knowing very little English. The place is kept clean and their attention to detail is great. The restaurant is charming and really unique with its cave like decor and rustic wooden tables. To top it all off, they give you a delicious complimentary salad with every meal. Please try this place! You won't be dissappointed! read more

Definitely a hidden gem in the area. This place specializes in Turkish "pizzas". They have about 20 varieties of pizzas that will throw you off your feet! I have tried the mildly spiced minced beef (#2) and assorted topping (#18) pizzas. The minced beef pizza was on the lighter side. The assorted pizza gives you a little bit of all their most popular toppings, from chicken to cheese. We also tried the plain shawarma, which came with thin pita breads. The pita was nice and crispy, while the thinly slices meat still captured the original juices despite being cooked in heat. There are some interesting beverages available. The white yogurt drink is actually quite salty. It was different, but I definitely preferred the orange (bottle) soda better. It is like a less sweet version of fanta. As well, they have a selection of apricot, cherry and peach sodas from Turkey. They also serve Turkish tea by the cup. Finally, definitely try their pistachio baklava-like dessert. The friendly server told me the name, but I forgot. There is a crispy and soft version. Both will be topped with a generous spoonful of pistachio crumbs. I recommend having a cup of tea, where the tea would help balance out the sweetness of the pastry! read more
This really should be a 3.5 star because I really wanted to love the place and I don't want to be the one to tarnish it's reviews! Gotta support the small business owners... They're really trying! The good: Great unique ambiance like everyone says... Cave rock ceilings and solid rustic wooden tables. The place feels very legitimately clean and well kept. Loved the refreshing simple green salad that comes complimentary. However the food itself really didn't wow me, even though there's nothing to complain about. Maybe I'm just not a fan of Turkish seasoning? I love Afghan spices so I thought it only natural for me to like Turkish too! Anyhow we ordered the beef kebab which had very unexciting flavour... Really needs more spices and maybe a sauce. Dare I say it was bordering bland (as I've read in others' reviews) but I wouldn't go that far. Then beef and cheese pizza was good... But still nothing to write home about or warrant a rave review. Just didn't love it but I do wish them well! read more
My introduction to Pide is attributed to my Turkish friends who introduced me to this concoction of bread, cheese and meat. I would say the mainstream deep crust pizza is a close reference point. The place they took me to was run by the chef who runs this place now. Since I had never been Turkey I use that spot as a benchmark for good pide which according to my friends could compete with the good one served in Turkey. However the experience started to falter and that place went down a bit after a few years of solid performance. Still decent but not the great pide I had the first few year there. Chef Mustafa moved to another spot for a bit that I also tried but somehow it didn't have the wow factor and it was a lot less accessible. I tried a few other spots that had opened up but they never reached the same level. I am however pleased to share this place reaches almost 80% of what my first experience was of Pide. The menu is like the other spots i.e. simple with picture and some description and some kebabs as well. I went for the assorted version as wanted to sample everything on the menu. I was surprised to get a mid sized salad which is included with the mains. This salad is typical of what I have seen at Turkish dinners. Feta, greens, Tomato, onions with a light oil dressing. Decent I would say. Now for the main event the Pide is served piping hot so keep an eye on that. The beef and chicken topping slices were ok but spiced down a bit. The main attraction IMO of Bastrama and Sujuck didn't hold back as much thankfully. The dough was better than what I have tried at other spots. A very decent Pide I would say better than other iterations in the city. The interior is a bit odd as apparently they are going for a Cappadocia look. A Solid 3.5 stars. I will be back to try the lahmahchun on my next visit and perhaps even a kebab or two. read more
This place is not exactly on a very busy and easily accessible street but the food is worth the trip. There are about 16 Turkish pizzas to choose from and 4 of them are vegetarian. The desert is a separate story - it's delicious and has to be tried. One try is worth a million words. The decoration of the restaurant inside is very unique. It feels like you're inside a cave with tables made of solid pieces of wood. read more

When you first walk in the place is very nice and it looks almost like a cave! Friendly staff come to greet you! I ordered the chicken kebab and I had some of my friends beef kebab and the meat is so soft and juicy and not dry at all! The place is also halal and I would definitely come back again for sure!! It is right down the street from Yorkdale mall! read more
