    Cigar rolls

I'm not the biggest fan of Turkish cuisine (so treat my rating with a caveat), but even I had to appreciate how good Galata was. We stopped by for dinner and the place was filled with Turks, so that was a good sign. We were seated in a booth (the space is huge!), and the server was great at making recommendations. We ended up getting: - Cigar Rolls: Generous amount of feta cheese, thin and perfectly fried dough, tasty garlic dipping sauce. A winner! - Cheese Pide with Chicken Doner: The pide itself was good - crisped well, chewy yet easily sliced through. The chicken was a bit meh (lacked flavour/kick) and would have liked more cheese in it. - Iskender Kebab: The beef was sliced thinly (awesome) and was pretty tasty. It was a bit drowned out though by the tomato sauce. Side yogurt was a good palette cleanser. - Pistachio Rolls: So good! The rolls were soaked through, the pistachios were generous. - Kunefe: Another winner dessert. It looked like a fried "nest" soaked with a just-the-right-sweetness-level of syrup, again with the generous pistachios, and a huge slab of cheese on top that paired perfectly with all the sweetness. - Uludag: Turkish pop, which tasted like creme soda. Dishes are a bit pricey but serving sizes justify it (you can definitely split). As I mentioned earlier, topnotch service and huge space. So while I'm not the biggest fan of Turkish cuisine, I can see why Galata was packed.

My husband and I went to Galata for the first time tonight to celebrate our anniversary. We had first seen their food on Instagram and knew we had to try. The food was perfect, our server was lovely and the price was right. Also, the room was warm and welcoming. We will absolutely be back again!

FOOD: 5/5 Delicious and tasty food that's priced at a reasonable level. The menu offers a plethora of choices in terms of lamb, chicken, and beef. You can't go wrong with any of them. SERVICE: 3/5 While the server was very nice and courteous, the service on the patio was virtually non-existent. I was expecting the server to come by 5 min after I had started eating to ask if everything was ok. A server is supposed to check up on every customer 3-5 min after serving the food to make sure that a customer is satisfied with everything or requires anything. This never happened and it was disappointing. Bottom line: The food was amazing but the service was sub-par. I would expect the staff to be more attentive to people dining out on the patio.

This place has one of the best, delicious turkish food. Their service is really nice and very friendly servers. You can pretty much order anything off the menu and it will taste amazing . I highly recommend their Pide it's to die for, and their Kunafa is made fresh to order. They have street parking and really convenient location.

This new restaurant is a must-try for anybody who is looking for authentic Turkish cuisine! I am so glad I came across this restaurant on Instagram - when I saw their page, I immediately placed a delivery order! They have such an amazing variety of Turkish food - from mezze to pide to different kebabs, this place has something to offer even to the most picky eaters! I had the adana kebab, lentil soup and ezme. The adana came in with rice, bread and veggies. Everything was delicious and really reminded me of the food I had when I was in Turkey. Their prices are comparable to other restaurants that serve Turkish and Mediterranean food. Since dine in is now open, I am really looking forward to going here to try everything else on the menu. A solid 5/5!

Casual restaurant with great food and very reasonable pricing. Kabab dishes were cooked really well. Service was great also.

Great food - so fresh! Flavourful and hot in arrival. No alcohol is the only Downside.

Baklava (2 pieces for $5.49). 4. Turkish Tea ($2.00) x 2, but is free with a meal. A Pide is a Turkish Pizza. It came with red cabbage, gabage, pickles, and hot peppers. The pickles were too sourish. The chicken was mixed with two layers of cheese and a few slices of tomatoes. We ask them to hold the chili pepper. Adana is a lamb skewer. It was tasty and flavourful. It comes with a chili pepper and mixed salad, which was good. We swapped out the rice for fries, which was also good. The Baklava was just right; it wasn't drenched in honey, so it stays crispy. The Turkish Tea was the a good fish to a meal. Apparently, it is free when you have a dine-in meal. The customer service was good, except we have to keep asking to fill our water glasses. There is enough indoor seating. There is easy listening (English-language) music playing in the background. This restaurant opened in Feb 2024. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs, thus not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. There is one high chair for little children. Review 2024-148

The waiter was really nice, he was friendly and smiling when he greeted me and took our order. My friend and I shared the meat doner with bulgur because we were not that hungry. When it came, it looked too good to eat. Presentation was well done with a variety of toppings and it was aromatic. Sadly we found the meat to be too salty for us. It was hard to eat when the bulgur and pita were running out as well. We were surprised to see that we were charged for $4 just for a cup of water each?? Apparently this is their norm but I wish I knew before coming here so I could say no to it as I had my own water with me...

It's a good thing though that we were able to park on the residential street after 6 p.m. This is a fairly small restaurant with a patio. Menus are viewed by scanning a QR code. I'm not sure if it's specified, but certain items are only available at certain times. There's a chance that what you want to order is sold out or not available, so I'd recommend having a backup order ready. It was a super busy night when we went, so the food did take quite a while and was severely staggered in arriving at the table. Luckily, the restaurant was considering adding a pasta dish to their menu, and we were given one to try complimentarily. It was pretty tasty, and so were the dishes that we each ordered. The portions are decent, so if you're not a big eater, it'd be good to share dishes. The bread is so fluffy and yummy! At the end of the meal, we were given tea. It was a nice touch. However, they should specify that it's on the house. I had brought a cake and asked if we'd be able to cut it and eat it there. The server said yes, but it'd be a $5 charge per person. I understand that they provide plates and cutlery and will have to wash it, and I'm not sure what the norm is, but $5 per person seems high.
