Most entrées are served w shared items such as bread, simple salad, red cabbage, etc. Try anything lamb, you will be happy. Vegetarian? The falafel appetizer is delicious (note it is served not hot). Grand Turkish Patio Dine In Experience at Galata Danforth. The food quality and service are phenomenal. If you're in the area, definitely swing by. You have to use roadside paid parking service, so take TTC. Huge sitting space inside. Would love to visit again. The portions are huge. Recommended Meals: Tire Kofte, Chicken Shish, Mixed Doner, Saray Berti, Baklava, Rice Pudding and Turkish Tea. They also have combo meals for 4, 6 or 8 people. We came here very late, almost closing. We ordered the platter and it was very good and delicious. I loved the lentil soup. My friend complained that the meat was served cold but maybe because we are seated near the door and every time it opens , cool air comes in. But otherwise, food is great. I'm not the biggest fan of Turkish cuisine (so treat my rating with a caveat), but even I had to appreciate how good Galata was. We stopped by for dinner and the place was filled with Turks, so that was a good sign. We were seated in a booth (the space is huge!), and the server was great at making recommendations. We ended up getting: - Cigar Rolls: Generous amount of feta cheese, thin and perfectly fried dough, tasty garlic dipping sauce. A winner! - Cheese Pide with Chicken Doner: The pide itself was good - crisped well, chewy yet easily sliced through. The chicken was a bit meh (lacked flavour/kick) and would have liked more cheese in it. - Iskender Kebab: The beef was sliced thinly (awesome) and was pretty tasty. It was a bit drowned out though by the tomato sauce. Side yogurt was a good palette cleanser. - Pistachio Rolls: So good! The rolls were soaked through, the pistachios were generous. - Kunefe: Another winner dessert. It looked like a fried "nest" soaked with a just-the-right-sweetness-level of syrup, again with the generous pistachios, and a huge slab of cheese on top that paired perfectly with all the sweetness. - Uludag: Turkish pop, which tasted like creme soda. Dishes are a bit pricey but serving sizes justify it (you can definitely split). As I mentioned earlier, topnotch service and huge space. So while I'm not the biggest fan of Turkish cuisine, I can see why Galata was packed. read more

Found looking for Sunday late night option near Donlands and Danforth. Warmed up with the tasty lentil soup and shared the combo for 2 fed 2 hungry mouths very well for only $60!! Well seasoned and grilled lamb chops, kebabs and shawarma served with rice, salad and bread definitely satisfied. Service was friendly, responsive and quick. My husband and I went to Galata for the first time tonight to celebrate our anniversary. We had first seen their food on Instagram and knew we had to try. FOOD: 5/5 Delicious and tasty food that's priced at a reasonable level. The menu offers a plethora of choices in terms of lamb, chicken, and beef. You can't go wrong with any of them. SERVICE: 3/5 While the server was very nice and courteous, the service on the patio was virtually non-existent. I was expecting the server to come by 5 min after I had started eating to ask if everything was ok. A server is supposed to check up on every customer 3-5 min after serving the food to make sure that a customer is satisfied with everything or requires anything. This never happened and it was disappointing. Bottom line: The food was amazing but the service was sub-par. I would expect the staff to be more attentive to people dining out on the patio. read more

This place has one of the best, delicious turkish food. Their service is really nice and very friendly servers. You can pretty much order anything off the menu and it will taste amazing . This new restaurant is a must-try for anybody who is looking for authentic Turkish cuisine! I am so glad I came across this restaurant on Instagram - when I saw their page, I immediately placed a delivery order! They have such an amazing variety of Turkish food - from mezze to pide to different kebabs, this place has something to offer even to the most picky eaters! I had the adana kebab, lentil soup and ezme. The adana came in with rice, bread and veggies. Everything was delicious and really reminded me of the food I had when I was in Turkey. Their prices are comparable to other restaurants that serve Turkish and Mediterranean food. Since dine in is now open, I am really looking forward to going here to try everything else on the menu. We went to the Galata Restaurant (Danforth) after a family wedding rehearsal, so we were a large group of 13. We ordered cold meze platters, and large assorted meat/rice platters to be shared. Amazing food, was very good, we followed our meal with tea and a large sharable kunefe. All the food was delicious!
