I have passed by this pizza place so many times and I finally decided to stop by and give it a try. You can call in your order or place your order online. They also have some good deals/coupons, so make sure to look for those to save a few bucks. I placed an order for a large pepperoni pizza and an order of breadsticks. The total was less than $25, which is quite affordable since it was shared between 2 people and we even had leftovers for the next day. The pizza and breadsticks was ok, it's just what you expect. It was definitely better the next day after we air fried it for a few mins. If you're looking for a pizza spot to satisfy your pizza craving, this place will do. We were bouncing around the area for work and landed in front of this place for a few hours. Finally an opportunity to eat something. It was about 3pm and the doors were locked which confused me. So I called and the owner was nearby but on his way, no problem. First thing I noticed was the amounts of deals offered and I found one worth getting. 2 mediums for under 30 bones which I got for me and my helper. I got a medium pepperoni, mushroom and linguica. Very nice sized pizza, thin NY type slices which isn't my preference but overall flavor wise this place can't be put down. I also wanted to add how cool and friendly the gentleman working there was. Pretty sure he was the owner as nobody else was there but him. Small businesses like this are what helps the world turn and need to stay afloat for the people. I've driven by this place a zillion times (I shop at Lunardi's up the road) and had never given this place a shot. This year I've been making an attempt to try some new places and expand our takeout options, and I was pleasantly surprised to find this is a very solid neighborhood pizza joint. Dough is good (it's not those prefab crusts you get at some places), cheese isn't oily, and their sauce isn't too acidic or too sweet. It's surprisingly difficult to hit all of those marks in one pizza place! We get delivery through Slice. One perk of Slice is being able to configure your pizza with different toppings on two halves -- some places don't have that option on their online systems. read more

I was getting tired of ordering from a franchise and getting overpriced pizza that weren't very good. I love pizza so I was looking for a family owned restaurant nearby in hopes of great pizza. Great pizza where the crust isn't too thick nor too thin, the sauce isn't too watery or too tomato-ish lol and good amount of cheese that taste like real mozzarella. We ordered two customized large pizzas. Mine was with Italian sausage, linguica sausage and mushrooms the other was with ham, pineapple and olives. Both were delicious and was pretty surprised! I'm stoked to have a pizza spot just down the street. Hope this wasn't a beginners luck and the second time is just as great! read more

I'm giving this place a 3.3 stars. This is my 18th pizza place I tried in San Jose amongst others. Pros. Nice good service, hot pizza, great cheese and good decent crust. Cons. Not enough toppings on a Double pepperoni pizza, paid extra for thick crust but was not thick crust to me, (see photos) asked for extra sauce unless the sauce was supposed to be watering I didn't see it. I wanted to love this pizza place but not impressed with the Thick Crust option. I'm not trying to bash this place just saying I was expecting something more. Hands down one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The crust tasted like frozen pizza, only worse. The sauce and cheese were of the lowest quality you can imagine, and the amount of toppings was barely noticeable. Well, this is my first review for 2020-What can I say about Pizza My Dear on Bascom Ave, San Jose CA except OUTSTANDING! This is primarily a take out pizza place but the person behind the counter (and pizza maker) was extremely friendly, professional in appearance, showed me the specials and cooked me a take out pizza exactly to my specifications. The crust was perfect, great quality ingredients, with a taste that reminded me of east coast standards. The taste was different than other pizzas I have tried and this is definitely not a fast food delivery chain. The store was very clean and gave a great presentation when walking in. Fairly good parking although sometimes if busy, you may have to park around the side. Overall a great experience and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pizza My Dear. read more

I love this place. They make the best pizza! It is always fresh, hot and delicious, and the crust is SO good! There are other pizza places around us, but this is the only one we like. Decided to give this place a try. Price wise is very reasonable. I utilized the Yelp ordering and ordered for a pickup. It did seam like it took awhile for confirmation and when I could pick up my pizza but over all when the time was ready I walked and got my pizza. I think my pizza was ready before the time since I noticed my pizza was not as hot as I normally expect. One pizza was a cheese mushroom and olive pizza. Kids loved it. They ate it for lunch and demanded to eat the left over for dinner. The other pizza I got was a pepperoni artichoke olive pizza. It was a decent pizza, abit on the tomatoe sauce side but otherwise enjoyable. It's not so mind-blowingly good that I'd ditch the cheaper alternative chains, but still it wasn't bad. But I gotta give Pizza My Dear a pizza my mind. Some notes: It smelled different than other pizza places... it didn't smell like pizza in the car on the way home... but that's not necessarily bad. Crust, topping amount, and cheese were all good. I liked how the artichoke hearts were diced and didn't weigh down the pizza or roll around, but I didn't really taste the feta and I like a more saucier pizza. What I do recommend is the garlic bread because it's actually french bread and not just pizza dough. read more

I have been trying this place out using Slice to order for a few months now and I've noticed that what I order is not exactly what I get. My last order they 'forgot' or 'missed' the bread. When I asked for it, he said he did not see it in the order but 'believed me'. He made one for me quickly, but I ordered a deal with pizza and bread. Nothing to question, just check the order...Tonight I ordered an extra large three topping pizza. I ordered it with pepperoni, pepperoni and more pepperoni. The website states that xl pizzas are 18". The pizza I received was in a box that is just shy of 16"....ugh. The amount of pepperoni was the same as a regular pizza...ughhhhh. This was a three topping pizza. Great pizza! We just moved to the area, and tried this place because the ad comes every week in our mail. They had a coupon for a $10.99 three topping, and since we first ordered it, we have tried nothing else. We always get sausage, pepperoni, and green peppers. It is such a great pizza, everything is fresh. Also, it doesn't seem as greasy as most delivery places, which is not typical. I love that it doesn't drip with grease and tastes fresh. This is probably my favorite pizza place after curry and pizza in Fremont. Their pizzas are the perfect size for me and are not too heavy compared to like Pizza Hut or Dominoes. The ingredients always taste fresh and there's usually not a lot of oil under the pizza, but that might just be because of what I order. I normally get the vegetarian special if I'm feeling extra hungry. Sometimes I'll prefer a custom pizza with jalapeños and tomatoes. The crust is thin and a little bit crispy and the pizza itself is pretty thin but very tasty. Though I have never tried their meat pizzas, my brother and his wife have had their meat special pizzas and they have always been happy with them. The price is much more than other established pizza chains if you just want personal sized pizzas. It becomes increasingly cheaper as you order large pizzas as part of coupon deals, but I don't usually eat my pizzas with other people so I'm not able to utilize those coupons sadly. If you want to make half half custom pizzas they charge by ingredients for the full pizza so two toppings one on each half is the price of one. The manager who is also the chef who makes the pizzas is very friendly and will sometimes talk to you if he's not too busy. He's a huge sports fan and always has a sports game showing on his TV above the register. read more

~Delivery Order~ Pizza My Heart? NOOOO PIZZA MY DEAR!!! YUM! I used an app called Slice since they were having a special using the promo code: PIE7. Which in turn was $7 off my first order. Looking through the app, I saw Pizza My Dear, that also had a special of 10% off app order and that peaked my interest. It would be awesome if it was free delivery, but it was only $1. So not bad. I got a 12" Margarita Cheese Pizza (that comes with Fresh basil, tomatoes and garlic) and I added Red Onions, Artichoke Hearts, Mushrooms, Olives and Italian Sausage. NOTE: Getting toppings on half the pizza is still the full price of the topping. Not like Pizza My Heart or Pizza Hut where half the toppings on the pizza would be half the price. SO you might just have to get it on the entire pizza or not get it at all. Because I dislike bell peppers but my boyfriends family likes it but I wasn't going to pay the whole price for half the toppings. The App Slice response time was immediate and I actually got my pizza much quicker than I would with DoorDash by like maybe fifteen to twenty minutes. Pizza was hot, and super tasty. Toppings were WELL SPREAD OUT. So they make pizza with care with this place. I look forward to ordering another pie from here. Definitely look at the Slice app. And check this place out. read more

I'm kind of a regular here. And since I'm addicted to good pizza that says a lot about this place. I've probably tried every type of pizza they have. One of the reasons I keep coming back is because they have 16 different options. My favorite is the chicken garlic special, I have almost eaten a med all by myself, it's amazing. The Tijuana special is super spicy but perfect if you dip it in ranch dressing. These guys are super speedy, very nice, and always great pizza. They have specials posted 24-7. I've ordered from these guys several times through the Slice app and it's ranged from ok to (just yesterday) never again. They have a bunch of good deals, so it's a tradeoff between good pizza or good prices where sometimes price wins. Yesterday was the last time ever. When I order pizza I always add instructions to please bake it extra well done in the hopes I'll get a crisp crust. Yesterday this meant the pizza was even less cooked than normal. At about 4:30pm I was heading home and ordered it to be delivered at 5:30pm so it would get there at about the same time I would. So what happens? My housemate calls me at 5:09pm because the pizza was just dropped off in the carport. It gets to sit around getting cold for 20 minutes before I ever see it because Pizza My Dear can't tell time, and in this case also can't understand written English. If I wanted to reheat cold pizza I would have bought it frozen from the supermarket rather than pay far too much to have it made/delivered. On a side note, the Slice app refuses to take any responsibility for any of it. Pizza My Dear offered a $3 coupon for my next order in compensation. As if I'd ever order anything from them again. All in all they're worse than frozen pizza from Safeway. Save your money and just do that instead. read more
