GIFT CERTIFICATES - BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK! SCAM BUSINESS!…read more I was a frequenter to both Morrison locations in Burbank and Los Feliz. They bear the same name, menu, shirts, decor, etc. This gives the consumer the impression that these are absolutely related businesses that share ownership/management. A family member knew I loved the Morrison, and bought a $100 gift certificate from the Los Feliz location and gave it to me as a birthday gift. That location shut down a few weeks later, so I took it the gift certificate to the Burbank location. After attempting to use it after ordering a ton of food and drink, they straight up told me they are not associated with the other location whatsoever and they would not honor the gift certificate. Whether that's the truth or not (I don't believe them) you have a BRAND TO PROTECT. This is what sharing a brand is! To make the cognizant decision not to honor this gift certificate is theft! I will NEVER return to a business that bears the Morrison name ever again. You have lost a customer for life. I now implore all Yelpers to boycott this business for shady business practices. They literally took the $100 and disappeared! Where's my $100 Morrison?

Favorites of the night were definitely the Bossam and OG Korean fried chicken including their bar snacks like their oyster king mushroom chips and Fish Jerky is a favorite of mine. All the food was extremely fresh and the meal was nutritious and not heavy at all. I loved the crisp of the mushroom chips and the sweet salty chewiness of the fish jerky dipped in the creamy spicy sauce that it comes with. The kimchee Caesar was just okay in my opinion and very savory and nutty from the Parmesan but I didn't get a lot of kimchee flavor. The stone fruit with sesame whipped tofu was very refreshing and a nice palate cleanser. My favorite parts about the bossam were how the veggies were prepared, the Napa cabbage had 0 bitterness and was extremely sweet. I'd eat veggies everyday if it were like that. The bossam was tender and clean tasting with no bad pork odor. The twice fried chicken was extremely crispy and huge pieces. I wish there was more of that Halmuni Garlic sauce on it for more flavor. The favorite dessert was definitely the banana milk bread pudding which was light and perfectly sweet! I highly recommend yicha in highland park!

Standouts were the mushroom chips and the bone marrow cheese corn. Mushroom chips had great texture and the bone marrow cheese corn had a flavor punch. The other dishes were yummy too! For example, the hang over stew came with a whole presentation - the owner/chef came out to help prepare it table-side and we got to speak with her a little. Loved that! We definitely couldn't finish it after all the food and had to bring it back as leftovers. The bossom was so refreshing with all the herbs and flavors. Very hip yet traditional. Note: we tried the dessert - it is something that i would pass on. It was alright but wouldn't order again. Cocktails though - yes, would order more! Overall, Yicha is a trend and yummy spot, especially if you are crazy for korean food.

It was warm outside, but a small fan provided a little relief - I would add a few more of those fans for cooling and to keep the flying insects at bay. But, the atmosphere was comfortable. Service was good, not amazingly fast but appropriate for a leisurely dinner where we weren't in a hurry. The server was friendly and attentive. The food was really good. I had the shrimp and grits. It had too much "broth" or liquid, but otherwise way better than I expected for a restaurant located in Los Angeles. I ate every bit of it. One member of our party is vegetarian (pescatarian?), and she liked her dish. The other two were very happy with theirs, also. Sorry that I don't remember what they ate as I am writing this 3 days after our visit. Suffice it to say that we had 4 different entrees and all were excellent. The interior of the restaurant looked really interesting. Not your typical chain restaurant. Made me want to linger to check it out as we walked through from the patio. Overall, we had a really great experience!

It's also a great date night spot if you're looking for someplace romantic. Menu offerings feature New American comfort food. Al fresco dining is available in the enchanting back patio, and there's a cute little parlor to chill in while waiting for your table. (Reservations are highly recommended.) I passed by enroute to another engagement and saw a parking spot, so I decided to stop in for a quick drink. The darling hostess asked if I had a reservation. I told her I didn't but was hoping to have a drink at the bar. The bar is tiny and can accommodate about 6 people. Krista the bartender/beverage director was fantastic. She was personable & friendly and we had a nice conversation during my visit. I ordered the Passion Fruit Margarita made with house infused passion fruit tequila. It was delicious & nicely balanced. They don't just smash hamburger meat, they season the patties and trust me that makes a huge difference. It wasnt that busy at the time of our arrival. There were a lot of tables and the noise level was quiet. The host was nice and sat us not too long after we arrived. The table that we got sat at was extremely wobbly. My father-in-law noticed another table had napkins placed underneath to stabilize so he did the same to our table and it worked. Tara took our order and brought out the drinks. The food was 90% great! The 10% that fell short was a combination of things. 1) menu online and the physical menu said corn bread (which we were told no longer serves them). If its no longer available, update the menu because we were excited to try the corn bread. 2) a bbq place with no wet naps, that is really weird. However, they did bring me a stack of paper towels that were wet as if they were wet naps. 3) only 1 steak knife was provided in the platters. It was hard for a party of 6 to cut up meat with only 1 steak knife. 4) one of the sides came out cold, and hard. I bit into a macaroni and it felt raw because of how hard it was! I even dropped the macaroni on the plate and it rang! We brought it to the servers attention and we were able to get a fresh one free of charge. We loved the short ribs and the tomahawk steak! They were delicious. Baked potato as a side item was very large! During the whole time we were eating, no one came by to check on us, refills were not provided until after we were done eating. We never got one of the drinks that Tara wrote down and it showed up on the check. I was trying to get a staff members attention, and my hand was raised up, and there were hosts that saw my hand raised, but did nothing. There were other servers and runners that saw it too. Took a while for us to get any help. We eventually flagged down our server after what felt like 5 minutes. We brought the charge to our servers attention, and they corrected that too. Overall, the table service could have been a lot better, fix broken tables, and I suggest you bring your own wet naps or baby wipes because they dont supply any.

QUICK TAKE Get: Fish of the Day, Lamb, Moroccan-style Mushrooms Skip: Duck was our one miss Know: This is a good place for adventurous eaters who like sharing dishes and trying unexpected flavor combinations. Holy Saints does a nice job of making food feel creative without crossing over into "trying too hard." There are a lot of different influences running through the menu, and several dishes had us talking about the flavors and ingredients as much as the food itself. What we tried: Moroccan-style Mushrooms - A great example of what Holy Saints does well. Earthy, savory mushrooms with contrasting textures from the nuts, thinly sliced radish, herbs and crispy elements on top. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked together. Definitely one to share. Fish of the Day - One of the highlights of the meal and something I would absolutely order again. The fish came over rice in a deeply flavored sauce with peppers, herbs and fresh vegetables. Colorful, comforting and much more interesting than the standard fish-and-vegetables preparation you see at a lot of restaurants. Lamb - Another winner. Rich, hearty and well seasoned, with the sauce pulling everything together. If you're visiting for the first time and like lamb, this would be high on my list. Duck - Good flavor, but it seemed like the duck sauce could have benefited from a little more time to rest before being sliced and served. We joked that we should have brought a bag, taken it home and eaten it as leftovers instead. Sometimes duck might just need a night to think about what it did. What I liked most about Holy Saints is that the food wasn't boring. The kitchen takes familiar ingredients and puts them together in ways you probably wouldn't think of yourself, which makes it a fun restaurant for ordering several things and sharing around the table.
