Seitan Wings
Andrea A.

I got to try Pizza J recently as part of a Yelp Elite event and had such a wonderful meal! I was astounded at how vegan-friendly this spot is. I won't talk much about the pizza I received complimentarily (the vegan Tony Clifton, which was delish), but I did additionally purchase the Seitan wings with Thai sweet chili sauce, which were crispy and sweet (I really liked the ranch that came with it too). The service was stellar: super friendly, attentive, and timely. Ambiance is kind of dive-y, so fun that they have arcade games. There are parking spots in front of the restaurant plus plenty of free street parking. 10/10 would recommend, I'm excited to come back and try more pizzas.

I know I have already reviewed pizza j but I need to leave anther appreciation review! I am floored at the amount of options they have for people with dietary restrictions! They offer gluten free, dairy free cheese, and vegan toppings! I don't eat meat and I'm lactose intolerant. I feel like I have actual options here! I loved my pizza so much last night but almost cried happy tears when our server, Rachel, brought me over a shaker of nutritional yeast. A dream come true!!! Rachel took really good care of us and made sure to even tell me about the vegan chocolate gelato special. Which I obviously had to get! Rachel even wrote down the name of the brand so I can buy it myself. My friend had a white pizza that looked and smelled amazing too. To top it off, they were playing spice world last night.

Pizza J- What can't you do?!!! Always a fan favorite- love this place! Solid and friendly service and great ambiance with some fun games to play as well! Get ANY of their pizzas, wings, and their fantastic cocktails! I LOVE THIS PLACE AND HAVE BEEN EVEN MORE IMPRESSED ON MY LAST TWO VISITS!

Pizza options were delicious......the server recommended getting half of one flavor and half of another....... Appreciate that!!!! The service was great.....I went and it was a bit busy there were no parking available so had to park on the side street.... The sangria was very tasty......

Consistently one of my fave pizza joints in Providence. Fun Atmosphere, and spacious, and has pinball! Cmon!! Pinball, people!! How great is that ? The pizza here is pretty large and always expertly made kind of in the NY style but with its own twist. My faves are the Roni( classic pepperoni pie) and the Strutter (sausage, onion and red pepper). Last time I was there I changed it up and got the King Tidal (bacon, pineapple and scallion) and it was killer. Also don't sleep on their wings. They are smoked instead of just fried and are out of this world. Cocktails here are no slouch either. Which you might not be expecting from a pizzeria. I recommend the bicycle operator. They also have a pretty extensive beer and cider list, if that is more to your liking. All in all, Pizza J is a must try pizzeria in a city that has a ton of great pizza places.

Some really really delicious pizza going on over here. Pizza J is a spot my vegan friend recommended, for good reason! I absolutely loved everything we had, but the seitan wing things were my favorite. stellar job. The vegan buffalo chicken pizza was a showstopper. Service was friendly (if not overly friendly) and we had a great time. The place itself is cool. Arcade-y, neon, smells incredible, I would love to be back. I wish they were closer to Boston!!!

I loveeeee pizza j! We get pizza every year here for pi day! My friends who have gluten allergies and soy/dairy allergies can get stuff from here which is a big win. The pizza is really good. The ambiance is fun too. It's not your average pizza place! It's got art, neon signs, pinball machines and more! The service is great too. I'm always happy here!

A great time. Kids loved the arcade games - can't beach the lunch special for pizza for two slices and a soda for $9!! Kids loved the pizza. My daughter tried the vegan chicken- she was ok about it. The chicken Sando- not pictured - was excellent!

Fantastic pizza spot that has trivia nights, pinball machines, and just a really fun vibe. Our server was so knowledgeable about the menu and all the ingredients, and helped us make any modifications we needed for our food allergies. They also have an entire vegan menu, and we were very appreciative about how accommodating and accessible they were. We split some garlic fries (with a sub of vegan aioli) and one pizza (love that they could do half and half). We got a half of the Strutter (sausage and peppers) and half of the Neurotic Sasquatch (BBQ chicken), and both were fantastic. Really happy with our dinner here, and would love to try more pizzas!

Smoked Wings

I swear everything the owner touches is awesome! Came here for Lord of the Wings and wow what a great SMOKED wing! Yes that's right! Juicy full of flavor, fresh! One of the only smoked wings I've had in the challenge and definitely one that would be hard to beat. But the pizza WOW! Huge pie, thin crispy no flop! I could have eaten the whole thing on my own embarrassingly enough. Full of toppings definitely a popular spot! The waiter was so kind and hospitable, if every restaurant had him there would never be a complaint on service. Love the quirks of the place! The pinball machines and arcade vibes but also the old school music and classics on the projector. Highly recommend checking out this spot

This place was a great find. Pinball machines, to the music, to bob ross on the tv (happy trees= happy me) The pizza half Rita and half Good Carma so good. The garlic fries out of this world and the garlic knots amazing. The service was awesome, Jona the bartender so helpful and knowledgeable. Gave us recommendations for more local favorites, that I plan to check out. The whole vibe was great, busy on Monday, what does that tell ya. I will be back to try more of the selections.

I LOVE PIZZA J!!! My go-to pizza spot in PVD! The inside of the restaurant is so cool and I love all of the games and posters inside. Service is always amazing and they give the best recommendations when I can't decide. I'm here a few times a month and it never disappoints!

Is this a kid friendly spot?

Absolutely, I bring my twin 4 year old girls there all the time. The waitress was very nice and understanding. They have full coloring books and crayons to keep them busy. I've seen many families there over the years. I usually order a slice of…

Somehow, despite having lived here for years and spending plenty of time around downtown…read moreProvidence, I had never been to The Eddy. I'm honestly not sure how I missed it, because this is exactly the kind of place I like finding. It is the true definition of a small cocktail bar. The space is tiny, intimate, and has a very specific atmosphere, so if you're looking for a big place with plenty of tables, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for a great cocktail in a cozy little bar, however, you're in the right place. The cocktail menu is excellent. There are a lot of creative options that go well beyond the standard collection of Old Fashioneds, Margaritas, and Martinis you'll find at most bars. The drinks are imaginative without becoming gimmicky, and the combinations we tried were really well balanced and interesting. You can tell there is some serious thought behind the cocktail program, and it makes ordering something new a lot of fun. Our waitress was fantastic as well. My wife ordered a drink that apparently isn't something every bartender is familiar with, so our waitress went back to the bartender to ask about it. The bartender immediately knew exactly what she was talking about, which was a nice little reminder that these people actually know their drinks. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy without hovering over us. The music deserves a mention, too. It was fantastic and fit the atmosphere perfectly. The Eddy has that comfortable, slightly dark cocktail-bar feeling where you can sit down, have a drink, listen to good music, and actually enjoy being there rather than feeling like you're sitting in a loud restaurant waiting for someone to bring you your check. My only real warning is that this place is genuinely small. That is part of its charm, but it also means getting in and finding a seat can be difficult at times, particularly when it's busy. You probably shouldn't show up with a large group expecting to immediately find a table. For two people looking for a couple of really good cocktails, though, it's pretty much ideal. The prices are also quite reasonable for the quality of the drinks. You're obviously paying cocktail-bar prices rather than dive-bar prices, but I didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of. Considering the creativity and quality of what we were drinking, I thought the prices were perfectly fair. I'm actually a little annoyed that I went this long without knowing The Eddy existed. Providence has so many cocktail bars that you can spend years here and still keep discovering places you've somehow walked past a hundred times. The Eddy is definitely going on the list of places we need to come back to, and we will 100% be back.

We sat outdoors near the fire pit, which was pretty cozy and a great place for a larger group of people. I ordered a drink at the bar and Joe, my bartender, was super accommodating and nice! I was a little surprised it didn't have a salt rim as a margarita but I'm sure they would've added one if I requested it. The drink itself was AMAZING and the mezcal was super tasty. They don't skip on the portion of the drink. My favorite part was the presentation of the drink, I loved the little green flamingo! After a while, I got hungry and decided to order food. I love how they have many vegan options here. I ended up getting truffle tots, which were AMAZING. It was a pretty large portion, perfect for a filling snack. I was impressed with the freshness of them. I also tried my friend's order of regular tator tots which were also good but a bit on the salty side.
