The main appeal was convenience. Giuseppe's was only a few steps from our hotel, and the idea of eating pizza on the balcony overlooking the lake at sunset sounded too good to pass up. The order was ready quickly, less than thirty minutes, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, despite asking for utensils and plates both on the phone and again in person, they forgot them entirely. A short walk back to the shop solved the problem, and to their credit, the staff handed them over without any fuss. The pizza itself was the kind of food that serves a purpose but not a memory. The crust was too thick and doughy, the sauce had very little character, and the cheese existed mostly to keep everything from falling apart. It was utility-grade food sold at premium tourist-town prices. We knew we were paying that tax going in, but even so, it felt steep for what we got. Still, it did the job. Our family had a meal, the sunset over the lake was beautiful, and we went from phone call to first bite in under forty minutes on a Saturday night. For that, I'll give some credit. One of the longtime managers, who has been there as long as I've lived in the area, is consistently friendly, outgoing, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, great customer service can only do so much when the food quality continues to suffer. We've received credits multiple times for poor-quality orders, but at this point, we no longer want credits--we simply won't be ordering again. Our most recent order was the final straw. The pizza crust was extremely soggy, likely from sitting too long while other items were being prepared. The toppings slid right off when we picked up a slice. The calzone was leaking greasy liquid, and the marinara sauce, which I once raved about, was acidic, bland, and lacking the flavor it used to have. After discussing it as a family, we all agreed that the food has become consistently bland, low-quality, and unappetizing. It's frustrating to spend $30-$50 on dinner for a family of three only to regret the purchase every time. I genuinely believe better training, stronger oversight, and a renewed focus on quality could make a significant difference. It's disappointing because Amores used to serve consistently great food. We shared buffalo wings that were served with extra blue cheese (as requested...just an extra buck).
