Chorizo pizza
Alison L.

I usually love this place but the food fell flat this time. Additionally service was much slower than usual and we weren't checked on often. The chorizo pizza barely had cheese or toppings. As you can see in the picture all the cheese and toppings are co contracted in the middle. The chorizo was not chorizo but rather it was just a thick cut bacon without any chorizo flavoring and there was barely any of it. Additionally, the Caesar salad which had been hyped up by so many in bham was just a regular Caesar salad. Nothing special especially for the price. Disappointed because it was much better last time.

Such an amazing "fancy pizza" experience! Service was great, drinks were great, pizza is delicious beyond belief, marinara was so good I could have drank it!!! I only hate I was too full for dessert! They have super cool icee/cocktail, which is unlike anything I'd ever had before! If you want comfort food, but an upscale experience, this is it! Plus, they use a 20 year old sourdough starter um what

Really enjoyed Pizza Grace! Love the cute pizzeria vibe of the restaurant. The staff was super nice and helpful. We started off with the Caesar salad - it was unique since it had capers in it, which I think was a fun spin. The pizza was very good! You could really taste the crust and how fresh it was. We got two 14" between 3 people and it was too much! I would love to return to try more items on the menu.

Absolutely worth a visit. We had the meatballs, Caesar salad, and the burrata pizza. Everything was phenomenal and the sourdough crust really makes a difference!

I wanted to love this place and I just didn't. The service was very good but the pizzas are all one size so it's a lot of food. Most of the pizzas should be eaten hot and fresh so highly recommend splitting a pie. Otherwise you will have much less satisfying leftovers at home. The cocktails were delish. I would go back and split a regular cheese pizza with someone and I think that would redeem my first experience. It smells delicious inside with the wood fire ovens though.

Wonderful service for Sunday lunch! This highlight here is totally the dough -- you can tell it's super fresh and has that great sour flavor. The 14" pizza is the perfect amount to split between two people. I love this location, and the gelato spot next door is the cherry on top. Parking on Morris Ave can be difficult some evenings, but well worth it. I love that you can see into the kitchen. The art on the walls is fabulous, I wish they would put the artists' names by them so I could look it up!

Pepperoni Pizza and peach and prosciutto pizza

Food first, thoughts after... This was my second time at pizza grace. The first time was before Michelin guide. Went with some friends and no surprise had to wait. They do not take reservations and are pretty popular. From the host to the server everyone was so friendly and down to earth. The apps were delicious. Pizza was overall okay. A little burnt but still good. The seasonal peach and prosciutto was so good! Got to try their hot honey and homemade ranch as well.

I love Pizza Grace! This is my second time here and I had to get the garlic bread again. I'll probably get it every time and could just eat this as my meal. Highlyyyy recommend. We split the pepperoni and the Calabrian, which is on their summer menu and has chicken on it and is so flavorful. Their sourdough crust is really good and just a solid pizza overall. They do not do reservations so it's always good to get there early and put your name down. Luckily they have seating outside where you can drink a glass of wine or a really good gelato shop right next door to wait. Will be coming back!!

Bottom left - Gnudi. Top right - Roasted Gulf Shrimp. Both EXCELLENT!
Allana W.

Wow! We ordered the Roasted Gulf Shrimp (TO DIE FOR) and the Gnudi (PHENOMENAL). Our pizza was half white, half mushroom. The staff was beyond helpful (told me to keep my shrimp butter to dip the pizza crust in - super grateful for the tip!) The ambiance is cozy with an exposed kitchen and intimate seating. Highly recommend!

We are here on a Sunday at 11 am. The restaurant is not too big but they do have outdoor seating. We had the Caesar salad and it was plenty for two to share. The fried capers and sourdough crisps were a nice touch. We ate the pepperoni pizza and got a pizza that was half the mushroom/olive and Nardello. The crust was sourdough perfection. The toppings were delicious and the pizzas were definitely covered in topping. We loved every bite. The service was speedy and the staff was friendly. A great place to grab a specialty pizza!

"Peach & Prosciutto" 14 inch pizza ($32)

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Birmingham!! I would eat here once a week if I could. It's a cute, unassuming spot off the charming cobblestone Morris Avenue. The pizzas and apps are always perfect. They also have the cutest rotating wine menu in collaboration with Golden Age Wine in MTB. The servers are also always so kind and not in a rush. If I could change anything, it would be to take some reservations. I have had to sadly pass up on doing several meals here due to not wanting to bring a group to a restaurant without reservations. Additionally, would love to see a slightly more enhanced outdoor seating area.

The staff were excellent!! A very welcoming and comfortable environment was also a nice feature. There is a full view of the kitchen which is an open concept. The pizza was good if you like a lot of dough. The toppings were good but sparse. It's not what I would consider a conventional pizza. It's also made with a sourdough crust which was good! It would be a good choice for a date or a family.

We came to Pizza Grace on a Friday, for an early dinner. Upon arrival, it wasn't busy(AT ALL) but we blinked and this places was full of pizza wanting patrons! This isn't the biggest restaurant. It's comfortable and you don't feel like you are sitting on top of anyone. The ambiance is relaxed and decorated nicely. My fav part is the exposed bricks. Table seating, a few bar seats and some high table top seats are available. We ordered the pepperoni pizza with mushrooms on 1/2. I also requested a side of hot honey. The pizza was quite tasty and I loved the sourdough crust. The ingredients were fresh & of great quality. Our server was really polite and kept our water glasses full. I also had a Good people IPA. They have a respectable wine list but had limited beer options. If you come here, parking on Morris Ave could be a challenge. Thankfully , it wasn't for us. This was my first time at Pizza Grace. The yummy food and good service were worth the visit!

It's great just get there sooner rather than later so they don't run out of dough. Service and atmosphere is fabulous as well.

There was a bit of a wait before my order was taken, but honestly, it worked out in my favor because it gave me plenty of time to look over the menu. There were so many tempting options that it was honestly hard to decide! I ultimately chose three items and enjoyed a few bites of each. Ham & Fontina Scone: This was my first time trying a scone, and I was pleasantly surprised. The texture reminded me of a dry biscuit, but the ham added a delicious savory flavor that I really enjoyed. Frittata Plate: The frittata was SO good! It wasn't too dry, and all of the flavors worked really well together. It was served with polenta, which reminded me of really fine grits, along with fruit. After trying it, I realized that one entrée would definitely be enough for me to enjoy on its own. Breakfast 'ZA: This was essentially a breakfast pizza topped with a fried egg, and the egg was such a nice touch. The 'ZA itself was really good, although I think adding something similar to a gravy or sauce would make it a little less dry. Even without it, though, the fried egg really took it to another level. Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso: I decided to try the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, which was the barista's pick. This was my first time having a shaken espresso, and I'm so glad I gave it a try! It was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. The inside of Trattoria ZaZa is nice, although it is somewhat small, so I opted to sit outside. It was a very warm day, but the awning provided plenty of shade and made the outdoor seating comfortable. I also appreciated that, even though the restaurant doesn't have traditional table service, someone periodically checked on me to make sure I didn't need anything else. Overall, I had a great brunch experience at Trattoria ZaZa. There were plenty of menu options, the food was flavorful, and I really enjoyed trying a few things that were new to me. I'd definitely be open to coming back and trying more of the menu!

I had the daily special, which was a broken lasagna. Also very, very good. Mixed greens on the side rounded out our table. The pizza looked very good and reminded us of pizza in a shop we love in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. It's walk up service, no ordering from your table, which was fine. The menu has a nice variety. The store is a downtown casual vibe. We probably should've opted for outdoor seating, because the evening was so nice.

That's a huge plus; the number of times I've seen referees having to pass on the side because they didn't have utensils! The entree was a chicken pita. It did have a few fresh onions, but I enjoyed them since I didn't have to be the one dragon breathing around the field all day. We did have a choice of roasted potatoes or basmati rice. The potatoes went much quicker than the rice; I had the potatoes and they were fantastic. There was also a tray of chocolate chip cookies provided. I don't think they were frash made; they looked similar to other restaurants generic chocolate chip cookies. They were a nice addition to the lunch, though. They also provided sweet and unsweet tea in gallon jugs.

I ordered the seafood pasta, and you could immediately tell the pasta was homemade. It was fresh, perfectly cooked, and the seafood was beautifully prepared. Our waitress also recommended the hummus and house pickles, and I'm so glad we listened. Both were fresh, unique, and the perfect way to start the meal. The interior has a nostalgic, warm vibe and would be a great setting for a date night. Our server was awesome! He was friendly, attentive, and recommended some great food and drink options. I also really enjoyed the open-kitchen concept, as I always like being able to see the food being prepared. My only concern was with a couple of things I noticed in the kitchen. Since the kitchen is completely open and visible to guests, I think extra attention should be given to sanitation and overall presentation. I noticed one of the cooks drinking while preparing food, and another wiped his nose with his arm while working. Although he didn't use his hand, it still left me feeling a little uneasy. When guests can see directly into the kitchen, those small details really matter. Aside from that, we enjoyed our experience, and I do think this is a place worth trying at least once. The atmosphere, service, and recommendations from our server were definitely highlights of our visit.
