One stop shopping for primo eating and drinking good times…read more * * * Obsidian Brewery makes beer. I have no idea how the beer is. I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The additional botanicals make it strong, attention grabbing, fruity and yet combative. I was absolutely fascinated. Note that Buddha's Hand Gin is only one of the many items they have to explore there. I am totally ready to do more exploring. * * * The kitchen at Obsidian is also of distinction. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. It is what cheese pizza is supposed to be if you don't use the standard canned ingredients that institutional providers sell to Domino's. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place. Lots of Leanderthals having a fine time in couples and groups. This is not a loner's loser bar. You know - the dark rooms with misfits drinking their sixth beer while watching TV. This is a good folks good times full-of-sunlight place. So you definitely want to come with good folks. * * * Good food, good bottles, good people. And if you are feeling chipper, You can even have a homemade beer to celebrate.

Nice individual preventable slices ready for you to pick and choose from and are quickly reheated back to peak flavor and texture! We went to hot honey harvest, pepperoni, meat lovers and mushroom spinach. The hot honey harvest was absolutely and gives a run for best Detroit style pizza I had in Austin. Close second to VIA313 Cadillac. The cheese blend Kizza has got a bit of brie like taste it's really elevates the pizza. Oh also get the rosemary fries, crispy crust and nice herby fries with aioli! Will need to come back for the great service and try Neapolitan style pizza.

Kizza Pizza is definitively the best pizza in Cedar Park and Leander area…read more The do a unique style of detroit pizza that is the crunchiest, airy and buttery pizza i've ever had. Take that and match it with a single slice option where you and the people you are with can choose different toppings. Lastly, although they lead with the detroit style, do not sleep on the round pizza. This round pizza is excellent. Excellent ingredients and cooked perfectly. Good new york style pizza. Smallish place and I can only imagine as word continues to spread this place is gonna start to get regularly crowded. We need more of these style and quality places in CP/Leander. I hope everyone is able to support them, skip the papa john's and dominos.

We ordered the Shahi…read moreMalai Paneer Pizza, and I absolutely loved the crust--it had that perfect pan pizza texture reminiscent of Detroit-style, with a great crispy-chewy balance. The paneer was soft and well-seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The flavors were really good, though I felt the pizza could reach another level with premium or fresher ingredients. For Indian fusion pizza in Austin, this is still probably the best you'll find. The service was good--our servers were kind and helpful. The ambiance was comfortable, though a more contemporary or polished setting would elevate the overall experience to match the quality of the food.

If you have a craving for Indian, but in a quick pizza type bite, this is the place. Service was friendly and efficient. Smallest size, 10", was enough for a generous lunch. Pizza crust was good and tasty, nice crunch, along with a good chewy crust. Service was order at the counter, and they bring it out when done. Interior is very simple, but fine for an informal lunch. Added bonus of South Asian music items on play on the big screen, instead of the ubiquitous sportsball du jour. The ones playing when we were in there were from Telugu cinema, which we appreciated as our taste in Indian cinema has expanded greatly over the years from Hindi language movies. Lots of choices on the menu, will have to work through the list in months to come!

I ordered a pizza for delivery today around 11:30 am. I was following the app for delivery updates,…read moreand it was taking an unusually long time. The delivery was to be made by a 3rd party, not associated with Fratell's. After texting the driver three times after an hour had passed, with no response, I called Fratell's. They were very nice, and said the driver had just picked up the pizza. Okay. Should arrive in 10-15 minutes. And I waited. For almost another hour! Called the driver's number provided on the Slice app. The call goes to Uber Eats! Since I don't have an Uber Eats confirmation number, that's useless. I call Fratell's back. Again. At this point, they very graciously offer to remake the pizza, and I can pick it up. About this same time, the driver shows up with the pizza, which after 2 hours, is ice cold! End of a very long story, my son picked up the fresh pizza from Fratell's, which was completely delicious, of course. Big shout out to Bailey at Fratell's for handling this situation, and to Fratell's in general for having such great customer service and food!
