Beyond Pompeii is mostly a takeout place, but they do have 4 tables and a very cute ceiling light shaped like a pizza! We ordered lava rocks, which were well seasoned and fluffy without being chewy. The kids shared a small pizza that was half cheese and half pizza, while us grown-ups had an x-large pizza with gyro meat, peppers, and chicken. It was delicious! Decided to give a new pizza place a shot that was close to the house, and Beyond Pompeii passed the pizza test. Very unassuming location when you pull up, but the pizza was really good! We've gotten it to go every time we've ordered and it's been great each time. Cheese is baked perfectly and the crust has a nice crunch to it-not a ton of flop! Our go to is the cheese pizza and the pepperoni pizza. Good portion sizes and price is right in line with a typical pizza place. Service is quick and friendly, and the store is clean. New local pizza place I can get behind! My partner and I strolled into Beyond Pompeii Pizza with some hopes of becoming regulars. We arrived at around 7 pm for dinner and met a very kind young man at the counter. We had questions about their menu: Lava rocks, cheesy rocks, and molten lava rocks. The menu at hand wasn't clear on exactly what these items were. The gentleman at the counter quickly explained lava rocks as your basic bread stick, cheesy rocks as cheese sticks, and molten lava rocks were bread sticks served with a very spicy sauce (I'll have to get these next time.) We landed on a pepperoni pizza and cheesy rocks. The pizza smelled and tasted phenomenal! Cheese sticks were also just as great. I'll say my only complaint is that the pizza is very. very. greasy. At first I thought, you know... it's not that greasy. But as we sat and ate (there's two tables at the business) I looked over at our box and the grease was an overwhelming sight. I had to dab my slices with napkins but my partner truly didn't care to do the same. Everyone has their preference. Overall I personally give this pizza 4 stars with the potential of 5 (if they fix the grease). We love supporting local businesses over the regular take out pizza places. Plus they're so far from us and this one is very accessible. A little added note! They give you a free scoop of ice cream with your purchase of a pizza. We gladly left with a fairly good scoop of ice cream. I give the service 5 stars and the overall appearance and cleanliness a definite 5 stars. The place was new, clean, and well maintained. It was a carryout concept and less focused on Dine-in, so they had limited seats. I was able to meet both the owners who were a couple where they shared their idea and history of the restaurant. As we were going through the menu, they had quite a few vegetarian pizzas. One pizza which caught my attention was Vesuvius Pizza from the Specialty Pizzas section which we ordered and Lava Rocks from Breads section. Upon ordering we knew that they had a rewards program and points can be accumulated only through online orders. Our order arrived close to 15 mins. SPECIALITY PIZZAS Vesuvius Pizza We ordered one Medium Vesuvius Pizza. As we were ordering, the owners said that it would be one of the spiciest pizzas they carry. It had Grape Tomatoes, Red Bell Peppers, and Tepin Peppers. The size was decent with 8 deliciously looking slices. Without any further delay, I took the first bite and oh lord it was the spiciest pizza I have ever tasted in my life and it was delicious. I could feel the spice, but I never stopped until I finished my share. The pizza tasted delicious. I cannot find any flaws in the Pizza. The crust was good too. This was the first time I ever tried a pizza like this. It was named after Mount Vesuvius and the spice will burst like a Lava in your mouth! NOTE: One can also customize their pizza, but we decided to go as is to try their authentic taste. BREADS SECTION Lava Rocks This was bread topped with parmesan on the top and marinara sauce on the side. The bread was cut into 32 equal sized rocks. These rocks helped us to cool down Mount Vesuvius in our mouth. The Lava rocks were good too. DESSERTS Pistachio Almond They had a promotion called "Free Scoop of Blue Bell Ice Cream with Any Purchase." I got one scoop of Pistachio Almond which had chopped pieces of roasted almonds. The service was good, quick and the owners were friendly. The price was little on a high end as this was a local business, but the Pizza was worth the price. Overall, the experience was good, and I would suggest anyone check out this place. No doubt, I am going back again for more spicy stuff. read more

I ordered a 12" pizza through Grubhub, and was really not impressed. The pizza was really soft and doughy, as of it weren't cooked all the way through. There was way too much cheese, and I didn't order extra cheese. If you love extra cheese, extra cheese appears to be the default. They skimped on the toppings, mushrooms and black olives. There is no way to avoid parmesan crust, which is sort of oily with a bunch of parmesan cheese sprinkled on it. It was my first order from this place, and I really wanted to like it. Many things I have issue with. First and foremost, support local businesses but support them by submitting feedback that hopefully they take a drop from and improve so we can support them more. They won't see me again so hopefully this resonates. I order a pizza close to closing (10:30pm), because their hours say I can and they're making money off me even deciding to order this overpriced pizza. I was told twice on the call, to hurry up which is a first. Once before I told what I wanted to order and after I ordered. Whoever that guy is, needs to reflect on the job he signed up for and consider that in his plans to leave exactly when the door closes. I showed up before they closed, because I wouldn't order if I didn't plan on it so don't assume. I'm from NY, but I give TX pizza some slack. This pizza was bubbly, dry, and the crust was dusty. There was about 10 pieces of chicken on a large buffalo pizza, the rest was bloated crust. The woman who rang me up was the most pleasant part about it and that's me being generous.
