When I tell you I may have never had a proper Alfredo sauce until this place- you'll think I'm joking, but I am not. I got their fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli, minestrone soup, and garlic cheese bread. I'd been cleaning all day and decided to treat myself to some high calorie takeaway- big yay! I immediately dove into the cheese bread and I gotta say: I *love* the care they used to wrap it with wax or parchment paper so that the cheese didn't end up on the wrapping. It is so simple but also so thoughtful and I hugely appreciated it! A but salty and insaaaaanelu cheesy and garlicky, I'm glad it only came with 3 pieces because boy were those RICH. I had one and then the next two spread over the next two days. So good! The pasta was nicely cooked and hit the perfect balance with the pasta:chicken:broccoli ratio. And the sauce- ooooh boy. That is theee most perfectly emulsified cream sauce on this side of the 10. Bar none! The next two days my leftovers' sauce didn't even think of separating. It stayed a gloriously thick and creamy consistency which has never happened with my takeaway food before! It's always separated and this alone has made me a fan of theirs. The minestrone was great as well- a nice balance to the heavy carbs otherwise present in the overall meal. I can't wait to go in person and be blown away by the vibes read more

Pizza is good, fresh, and affordable! Old school pizza place, it's great for parties you can call them on the phone and they'll deliver you don't have to deal with the apps. I love the plain cheese pizza it's really good but if you're feeling fancy spring for the 4 cheese u won't regret it. The salad is huge and yummy btw a great deal Also FYI they were the original pizza Buona in Echo Park but the hipster spot Cosa Buona down the street stole their name when they got the building after these guys were pushed out. read more

I've been coming to Pizza Buona since the old corner spot on Alvarado and Sunset, and I still miss that location. The new place is different, but having parking is a huge plus. The Margherita pizza is still my go-to--perfect crust and fresh basil. The meatball sub is exactly how I remember it, saucy and filling. And the lasagna still feels like the definition of comfort food. Glad they kept the classics right. read more

This is the second time that I give this spot another chance.. me and my family have been coming to this spot since 2013 before they relocated and it's sad to say but the pasta was less than average, like something you get out the bottle with only 4 shrimps and like 3 broccoli.. I had dinner at 6 and it's the next day at 3 I can't even eat my tummy's upset and I have some nausea... the people are nice but they don't like you give you bread ,extra parm , chili flakes or utensils. Also, for your record- I will post another picture of proof where YOU AS BUSINESS OWNER were notified about service fee( lie number 10). And its not about the $50, its about the integrity you dont share with me! Important Notice: We were recently contacted by Pizza Buona company to provide service for their commercial refrigerator. Our technician promptly responded, arriving quickly for diagnostics and repairs. Upon arrival, he observed another technician from a different company also performing diagnostics on the unit. Before starting the service, the owner was informed of a first visit and diagnostic fee, which he agreed to pay. After the service was completed, we discussed the repair costs and turnaround time. The owner initially agreed to the repair cost but appears to have continued checking with other companies to find a cheaper option. The following day, we received a call informing us that the owner had hired another company to complete the repair and refused to pay our diagnostic fee, dismissing it as "measly money" that we were pursuing. This behavior is highly unprofessional and amounts to scamming. Owners who understand how businesses operate but still refuse to pay for agreed-upon services undermine fair trade practices. After numerous attempts to collect the money- this was the owners response! Stay cautious when dealing with such individuals. read more

The food was amazing. Thick crust, lots of cheese, lots of pineapple on Hawaiian, and the cheese is so thick that in a pepperoni pizza, you can barely see the pepperoni. The service was average, however getting the food was a bit slow. The ambiance is a nice cozy little local restaurant. read more

Had a small pizza with eggplant delivered. Excellent sauce and cheese. Unfortunately the crust was dense and tough like a bad attempt at homemade. Also most of the toppings were under the cheese, instead of on top. That's not my preference. If the crust had been better this could've been a good pizza. read more

Best pizza in town I've been coming here since I was a child. Unfortunately they had to relocate from their original location right on the corner of Sunset and Alvarado. Now they are in the Plaza on Alvarado next to the laundromat, due new ownership of the building. Come and support the original owners of Pizza Bouna. The service is always pleasantly. The new location is small and cozy and clean. read more

Staff were great but pizza not so much. Not the best ingredients. Too much of the sauce that tasted like it was from a can or jar -- not handmade. Cheese and sausage were also of poor quality. Dough was pretty dense and didn't have a chewy texture. Pizza looked and smelled really good though. read more

In my opinion there is only one thing to get here: the magnificent eggplant and marinated tomato pizza. It's super garlicky, with lots of breaded eggplant, slices of marinated tomatoes, and lots of cheese. It's so freaking good. I never get tired of it. We order it every time we have a party at my business and at my house. They still deliver in house rather than using apps and don't charge a fee. Just give it a shot. You won't regret it. They used to be located where Cosa Buona is now at the corner of Sunset and Alvarado before they were pushed out due to a tragic series of events caused by someone crashing into their building. Now they're in a smaller spot a block away on Alvarado. Not nearly as nice inside, but we always get delivery, so it doesn't really matter. They're the real deal. Please support them. read more

I wasted my cheat day on this, and I'm so mad I want to go to war. And I'll never believe those "Best of" LA articles again. This place is on 2 different best pizzas lists, and it's *terrible* 1. Greasy. I have never ever had a pizza with pockets of grease. My 3rd bite, I bit into a grease pocket, and BOOM, there's a river of oil running down my face. There's so much grease it leaked through the parchment paper AND the delivery box 2. Soggy. Soggy greasy slices, flapping in the wind. The slice can't hold its own weight because it's so heavily soaked in greasy 3. Sour. Lord, forgive me, I don't wanna say it, but this is some BS. Sour sauce. There was a tartness that was out of place in the flavor palate. 4.Chewy. The dough was undercooked. Obviously, with a grease soaked undercooked pizza, it's bound to be chewy, too. As I chewed...and chewed, I also mentally chewed on the life choices that led me down this path where I found myself gnawing on nasty grease pocket pizza dough. 5. The cheese was hot but congealed at the same time. Didn't really melt and had no taste of its own. I've never met cheese like this. I'm genuinely awestruck at how many things were wrong with this pizza. 6. Flavorless. Bland. That's another reason I'm suspicious about that cheese because cheese has its own flavor that adds to pizza, but this cheese tasted like absolutely nothing. At the very least, where's the salt? Oregano? Basil? Thyme? 1 pinch of any herb or spice will do. All in all, this was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had in my life. I ate 1 1/2 slices and threw the rest away. I have 3 dogs, and I wouldn't even give them the pepperonis before throwing the whole thing away. read more

Visiting from out of state and my friend brought me here. Soooop good! If you love cheese, this is your spot. Ordered the baked rigatoni, and it was brought to our table while still bubbling. The cheese was gooey and had a perfect crust on the end. The pasta itself was delicious. The best part I think was the sauce. I let the bread sit in the corner of the dish to soak it all up. Let me start by saying I'm a Jersey girl, maybe my expectations of pizza are too high in Los Angeles. Maybe I'm a pizza snob. This pizza is not for me. I ordered a pepperoni pie with sausage on half. The pizza had little to no sauce, the sausage had no fennel seeds. Am I the only person that likes fennel seeds in sausage? I also ordered wings, the request for all flats was honored so customer service was on point. I cannot comment on ambiance because I ordered through GrubHub. The food was still warm on arrival. The wings left a lot to be desired, but I poured my own wing sauce on them, which made them taste better. I have thrown so much pizza in the trash it's ridiculous. I'm trying not to throw the rest of the slices in the trash, but I have a strong feeling that's where they are going. No sense in eating food I don't like. I don't need the empty calories. Overall, I give up on finding good pizza that delivers to my home. I will stick with Firenza, DTLA near the office, or when I'm home and want pizza, I'll make the drive to Rosario's, which is kind of far, but worth the drive. I don't understand why pizzerias in Los Angeles don't put enough sauce or cheese on pizza. It should not be a special request, but the standard. Ugh! I'm so frustrated! read more

Pizza No Bueno more like. Against better judgement and influenced by ratings and reviews I tried it. Ordered a large and ate 1.5 slices and tossed the rest into the garbage bin. (1) something is very sour, like almost spoiled sour. Maybe the sauce? Maybe the olives? Gag (2) thin crust is not thin. More like pan pizza. (3) soggy af, like super wet and soggy. I tried baking it and it helped a little but not a lot. (4) overall quality just felt like frozen pizza. DiGiorno?? I DID NOT have the same experience as the other reviewers on here. This place is incredible. I miss their old location at Sunset and Alvarado (since replaced with a business using a similar name). The pastrami sandwich is my favorite, but their specialty pizzas are Amazing! Try the Pastrami Pizza or the Pepperoni deluxe. Support this place because LA loses all these great family owned businesses and we never get them back once they're gone. read more

It was extremely bland and all of the toppings were underneath the cheese which resulted in everything falling off of each slice as soon as I picked one up. Terrible pizza. Never again. read more

It has been far too long without me giving these folks their due. I love getting delivery from them because they use their own guy, and he is the best. He always finds parking on my shitshow street, and no matter how badly management is fucking with tenants and not letting people into the building, he always finds a way in and up to my door. A delivery legend, as far as I am concerned. And it's good, reasonably priced pizza! They held out so long on increasing their prices, and I so appreciate it. Everything's tasty, and the chicken parm feels like a kinda massive portion. And I know it's weird, but I really love their ranch? Just all around reliably good and you have no FUCKING IDEA how rare that is in Los Angeles. read more

In the same vein, we stuck with a similar style of food and ended up at Propaganda. There was little to no wait, which was pleasant. It was a nice day and we decided to eat outside. The focaccia bread and salad came out first, and both were good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bread, though my only qualms were that the bread was quite oily and the butter and salt were just a tad bit too salty for my liking. The Insalata Mista salad was solid. Good flavor, good dressing-to-salad ratio, and a surprisingly good portion size. As far as pizza goes, the Margherita was good. Tasty, moist, and a nice crunch on the crust. I found it to be enjoyable, though I may have enjoyed more fresh basil on this. I did find it better than the Boscaiola. I got the black truffle honey add on, and it does not go well on this pizza in my opinion. There was virtually no taste of truffle to me, and more of just an aftertaste of oily sweet honey. This was a miss. It's hard to say whether the base pizza was good without it because the flavor profile was just too overpowered by the aftertaste. The Arts District is definitely coming up with new upscale dining establishments, and I'm there for it. I think this is a solid addition. Though this is a wine bar, I don't generally drink, so my review is based purely on the food. Results of their drinks, which is quite an extensive list, may be to your liking! They do have an inexpensive three wine flight, for reference!

Perfect place to kick back with friends, watch a game, grab drinks and eat some legit pizza. The pizzas are HUGE and super good. Real NY style pizza with great flavor and crispy crust.
