Our children love schnitzel and ask for gravy making it ideal for dipping and enjoy the taste. The children's menu is generous in serving size. I enjoyed a Ruben sandwich! It is always delicious no matter what your selection. I have to say the schnitzel is our favorite! Request an order of some bread and butter prior to meal. You will enjoy this place. Charred lemon? Hmm I had the schnitzel listed in menu as being served with charred lemon, buttermilk mashed potatoes and parsley. The schnitzel itself was good, nice crunchy though the meat, I think it was chicken not identified on the menu, was dry. For the amount of schnitzel the serving of potatoes was very small, and the charred lemon was right out of the icebox. I'm a bit of a stickler for getting what the menu says so this was very disappointing. This restaurant goes overboard on so many details (don't get me started on the menu itself, it's crazy the amount of $ they must cost) the fact they overlook this detail is kinda shocking. read more

We had a great date night at Pivovar! 1) Loved that there was off street parking! That's a gem in downtown! 2) some of the coolest decor and ambiance we have seen since living here for a little over 5 months. 3) service was beyond outstanding! Our server Adrian was warm and welcoming. It was our first time so he gave us a great description of the menu and the brewery. He sold us on the wine flight when we were originally just going to try a wine we were familiar with. Best choice all night! I don't love red wine and I liked the red in The flight. Czech wines might be my new favorite thing. Also pro tip, Wednesday and Thursday nights is half price wine at happy hour. A great chance to try the more expensive wines and fall in love. 4) the cook on the steak was perfection! Rarely can you get a char on the outside without overcooking the inside. He orders medium and it was perfectly charred but deliciously medium on the inside. The butter with the steak was the best we have ever had! The corn ribs are. It to be passed up. 5) fish and chips is a must try. I was swayed to try the notion rings when a server passed our table with an appetizer portion and I could smell the delicious aroma for like 2 min after it passed the table. The secret gem was the wonderful tartar sauce! I ordered extra to go! I fully plan on hearing up my 2 pieces of fish I brought home in the air fryer to get it as wonderfully crispy as the chef did tonight. 6) anyone who passed us with a dish was more than happy to tell us what it was and how good it was. The bartender and Adrian explained in great detail how they make the espresso martini I watched them make they looked amazing. I don't love a cocktail with dairy or a creamy nature. But the espresso martini looked so good I will for sure be trying it next time I go! Adrian explained it's crafted so that it's creamy in texture without being overly aggressive with the dairy. Which is the balance I know I would appreciate. 7) this is a big deal, the chairs even at high top tables were comfortable. I avoid places I don't like the chairs even if I like the food. Same with parking, if it's difficult to park or small spaces, I might skip it. Or get delivery. This place hit every high note we could have asked for and more. We love so much of what Waco has to offer, but this is a for sure spot we will return to and ask to sit it Adrian's section. His warmth and attention to detail can't be overlooked. He was extremely knowledgeable about the brewery, how Czech beers and wine are made when we had comments on the difference in American made things. My bf tried a beer and o tried another wine bc of the level of satisfaction we had with the wine flight. Gave us confidence the other curated options were worth trying. Wow - to addition to the poor experience, even their beer is busted. I bought a six-pack of cans to go. I went to my fridge tonight to get one.... And they are all flat. No pressure and about 2/3 empty. Apparently the seal on the can didn't hold. This happened before! They can't even run the canning machine! read more

Stayed at the Pivovar Hotel. Very cute ambiance and nice front desk person. Room was cute but bed was much firmer than I am use to. Shower curtain was 4 inches above the edge of the tub, causing a bit of a watery mess. Overall it was a nice stay. Right around the block from Magnolia silos. read more

Pivovar really disappointed. We went when it first opened, and it was wonderful! We went again last Friday evening, and it was awful. Had the fish and chips, and the batter was cold and soggy, and the fries were cold and almost stale. We spent $90 to be incredibly disappointed. Good portions and hearty food. My boyfriend got the shrimp and barley risotto and it was absolutely incredible! It was weird that I couldn't substitute one of my sides (had to get an additional side of mashed potatoes instead of subbing) but I guess that could be them trying to preserve the integrity of the dishes. Visually when you enter Pivovar it's absolutely stunning! The woodwork, the craftsmanship, and the attention to detail is beautiful and inviting. We ate at Pivovar on a Tuesday evening during the summer (way less students in town) so it's hard to comment on what the wait would be during football season, Friday/Saturday nights. The food was delicious! We tried the bacon deviled eggs - bingo! Tasty, tasty, tasty! For my entree I had the Ancient Grains salad. It was so fresh and light, but also satisfying! We tried the chocolate mousse and if you're a chocolate fan do not miss out! Service was fantastic! Our server was there to answer any questions, explain specials, and assist when I accidentally spilled my water. The food runners were delightful as well, polite and helpful. Only drawback was the music was too loud. I understand using music to set the ambiance and wanting the energy of the restaurant to feel vibrant, but for as few people that were there (Tuesday evening during the summer break), the music was unnecessarily elevated. Service was lacking, that was just the start. The appetizers, fried cheese & spinach and artichoke dip with crostini. We ordered a family mac and cheese and mushrooms to go with out main entrees. We had the schnitzel. To start the Mac & cheese looked like it came out of the microwave. It was dry and the cheese had coagulated. It looked like it had oil or something to that effect. 5 stars for the hotel, right across from the silos, easy parking on the side, back or street in front of the hotel. Nice, clean rooms, very pretty. And everyone working there was very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was really good, eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast. The lady working in the breakfast room was so nice and friendly. We were on the train side of the building and it does run by a few times a night, but I sleep hard so it didn't bother me. Restaurant, the atmosphere was really nice and the waiter was really nice, but service was so slow (and it wasn't busy) so we cancelled our apps and just had drinks. Wish we could have tried dinner because the breakfast was good! So I'm taking one star off for the restaurant. But I would definitely stay there again. read more

Not impressed with Pivovar. Made a reservation at 7pm for our anniversary. They were quite busy, and it took over two hours from start to finish. We started with a beer flight, good beer, but very slow to come to the table. Then we ordered spinach dip for our appetizer, we told the waiter because we think they forgot (after about 45 minutes of waiting) and then it did not come until AFTER our main course. And to be honest it was mediocre at best (and I loveeee spinach dip) :( We had the filet mignon and the truffle gnocchi for the mains. The truffle gnocchi was pretty good, I'd order it again but not stelllar. The Filet was also decent but only side was three small corn ribs. Then we had the cheesecake to finish (it was okay as well). When we got the bill we were happy to see they had comped the appetizer (which makes sense because it came after we ate our dinner) but then the waiter UNcomped it. Very very weird. We didn't want to fuss but we will not be coming back. A $80 tab (not including tip, which we still left a nice one!) for two people on a special night and it definitely left something to be desired. read more

I booked a stay for Saturday Aug, 19, 2023 to celebrate my husband's upcoming 50th birthday. If you're celebrating an important event or looking for a romantic getaway, the hotel is worth the splurge. Dubbed "A Czech Inspired Luxury Experience", our experience exceeded our expectations. This is a brewery, hotel and restaurant all in one. When we first arrived, we were not sure if we were supposed to park in the Premium Parking lot adjacent to the hotel. However, upon check-in, we were quickly assured that this parking is included in our stay and I was handed a hotel parking pass to place on the dash of my vehicle. Karen took the time to check us in and go over our welcome package. We had a beer spa appointment later in the day and she confirmed that she would come up to our room to escort us to the beer spa. We had some time before our appointment and we settled into our well appointed room. The room type that I booked ("The Weary Traveler - King") has a copper tub instead of a shower. The bathroom also features two copper sinks and a separate bidet. After passing the entryway, there is beautiful desk and plenty of seating. There is a luggage rack as well as an area at the foot of the bed to accommodate your luggage. By the TV area, there is a bottle of complimentary water and a Keurig machine. Underneath, there is a refrigerator containing items for purchase as well as creamer for your coffee (and you can certainly use the refrigerator to store your own beverages). The is an RO water cooler and ice machine by the elevator where you can refill your glass water bottle. After inspecting our room, we took a very short walk across the train tracks to The Silos. There is a train that runs through the area, but we did not hear any train go by in the evening. After that, we headed to our back to our room and Karen escorted us to our beer spa, which was a few doors down from our room on the same floor (very convenient!). It is a private room containing two copper tubs full of beer and beer soap (this experience costs $200 whether for a single person or a couple). We were given a little over an hour to soak and enjoyed a beer flight. It is recommended that you rinse in the shower after your soak. We ended the night cashing in our free beer coupons that we received in our welcome package. The beer comes in these very large (17 oz) glass steins. All of their beer is delicious; very light and easy to drink! For dinner, we had the Czexan Schnitzel (I don't think that the Pivovar Sauce went well with this dish) and the Pork Shank (I'm not that was worth the $30). The restaurant was relatively busy and there was live music. My husband went to bed, relaxed and elated to be sleeping on top of a brewery. It was truly a wonderful experience and stay. read more

My wife and I stayed at this place for one night just because it was so close to the silos. After we checked in and got into our room, the room was very large and roomy. The reason why we gave this only three stars is cause the bed was like laying on a brick super hard just have been an extra firm bed. The other reason is in the morning around 9 o'clock we had 3 maids just to get in our room even though we had a privacy card on our door. They were trying everything to get in. I called the front desk and told the lady there that three maids were using there key card to get in our room. I told them that we were in the room but they kept trying. Then I went out there and was like can I help you I'm trying to sleep and your kicking down my door. They finally realized they were in the wrong room. Talked about being pissed off. read more

Stopped in for dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday. For dinner on Friday, I had the gnocchi. The dish was very tasty; I also tried some Schnitzel that another person in our group order. Both were quite tasty. For drinks, we had several of their beer types. I had the dark beer which was flavorful but not as heavy as many that I've had. In the end, it was a little pricey... For lunch on Saturday, I had the Cobalt Chicken (sandwich) with sweet potato fries and the chicken barley soup. I definitely liked the sandwich and fries - I think beef barley would be a better menu option. While the restaurant was not that busy (appeared to mostly be women who were visiting in Magnolia complex), the service at lunch was not awesome. They seemed to want to pack everyone in one section and while there was plenty of staff, our waiter was hard to find and we had to ask him for several things in our short lunch. In the end, I'm not sure how new they are but am hoping they are still working out the kinks and will have things running more smoothly in the coming months. read more

Pivovar has just brought the Waco dining experience to a new level! What a fantastic restaurant. So many facets all under one roof. A delicious meal paired with a brewery paired with a bakery and add live entertainment and then don't miss the outdoor patio ambiance for a complete package. Let's talk food. Our meal was delectable. The schnitzel is so authentic you'd think you were in Europe. Make sure to squeeze the lemon on it to make those flavors explode. Short ribs were like eating something my grandmother would have cooked. Falling apart with gravy that didn't drown them out but only added a perfect pairing. Drinks: I was curious about the smoked salted rim of the margarita but AGAIN completely surprised at the flavor explosion it brought to an often typical drink. loved the dichotomy of the two! The Whiskey Sour had its own twist with a frothy top and sprinkle. Don't leave without sampling dessert! Their cheesecake was soft and creamy with a caramelized top, the likes of no other! This place is absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere, food, service - all on point. I recommend the burger or turkey pesto sandwich. Great portion sizes, and the sweet potato fries are incredible. We ate mid afternoon for an early dinner. Started at the bar for a beer flight, then moved to a table for dinner. Our bartender/ food server was awesome! Adrian V. Was very helpful with our beer/food service. He was also very knowledgeable about the area, and the hotel. The restaurant itself was great and with the garage doors open it felt really open. The schnitzel was awesome along with everything else. We will definitely be going back. We were visiting the Magnolia district, and the Pivovar is right next door. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The beer spa was amazing, the restaurant was good, and our room was nicely appointed and clean. The location is great and in walking distance to most things you would want to see in Waco. There is free, onsite parking. The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star review is that we were charged $10 for accidentally breaking a tiny tasting glass. This seems petty and ridiculous since we spent $700++ at the hotel, spa, and restaurant for a one night stay. read more

I'd like to give this place another try, I understand cooks are different on certain days, and sometimes management can't get scheduling right so bartenders have to step in and help the 1 poor girl trying to do it all. I was just expecting so much more. This place looks like they did it right, it's beautiful decorated with quality furniture and an amazing sounding menu! The drinks were fantastic! However there was so much disappointment that I couldn't give this place a 5 star. I have this thing about service, I expect certain things and I tip very well for it. I don't want people to hand me food to set in front of myself or pass on to others, I want dirty unused dishes cleared from tables, when we leave and not a single things been cleared it irritates me. And the food, oh sad face, the food was nothing to come back for. Brussels were undercooked, the Mac and cheese was watery, the sweet potato fries were cold and undercooked, the buns on our burgers were burnt and our medium rare burger was sooooo well done that it was in-editably burnt.
