I was craving pizza and pasta today and I remembered that a good friend of mine recommended this place. I was very excited to try the various dishes that Pitfire had to offer. We ordered the cheesy knots, honey bear pizza, and chicken and mushroom cavatappi. I decided to give this place a two stars since I was content with the pizza and cheesy knots. However, the chicken and mushroom cavatappi was such a let down. Although it is called chicken and mushroom cavatappi, there was no chicken in the dish at all. We called our server over and asked if it was supposed to have chicken. She replied with "oh it doesn't look like there's any." She then assured us that she would grab it for us. When she came out with the shredded chicken, my hope was then distinguished once again. We tried a piece and it was very rubbery and oily. The pasta sauce was super bitter and lacked the garlic flavor that they stated in the description. Super disappointing. I am a ranch loving woman. But, they charge $2 for ranch, I still decided to purchase it though, must be good for it to be $2. Unfortunately, it tasted horrible to me and was given in a small cup. Definitely could've ate the meal without the ranch. It took awhile for the ranch to come out too, we eventually had to ask for it again for it to arrive to our table. Late Saturday afternoon in Pitfire Pizza in Orange, CA. The restaurant had 6-7 other families in it--about 15% full. My wife does not eat cheese, so she ordered the Honey Bear pizza with no cheese. I ordered the Zoe's pepperoni pizza and a lager. We waited longer than expected (even for a pizza place) for our food. My wife's pizza came with two of the three cheeses on it. Disappointed, but hungry and not wanting to wait so long for another attempt, she tried to deconstruct the pizza. After she ate a slice, we set her pizza aside to take home to a daughter who will eat it. After the pizza fail, we asked if the Bolognese pasta had any cheese in it. We were told it did--parmesan on top. They said they could keep it on the side. I asked that there be no cheese whatsoever. (We had already let them know twice about the cheese issue on the pizza. Their response was an uninterested 'sorry'.) We received the pasta with parmesan cheese on top and cheese in the pasta sauce. Two paid attempts and two fails. No offer to remake or remove either of the items from the bill. We had to take the pasta home for another person as well. The draft lager was good. My pepperoni pizza was about a 5/10. Our dessert--ice cream on a brownie-- was ok. Total bill for 2 pizzas, pasta, beer, and dessert was $90. Service was slow with about 15% of restaurant occupied (6 families total). Overall poor/disappointing experience. Won't return. Not recommended. read more

We are so excited this new place just opened up. We finally had a chance to check it out tonight and it did not disappoint! The service was friendly. The pizza was on point- thin, crispy crust and super flavorful. I love Caesar salads and 9 times out of 10 I am disappointed but there's was perfect- the little gem lettuce and dressing and crunch were just perfect. My husband had the mezcal rum frozen cocktail which he really enjoyed (we planned to share it but it was too strong for me ) so I ordered the froze all day and it was not overly sweet- just perfect. Their ranch was great and I loved dipping my crust in it. The place is decorated perfectly and there was definitely a lot of thought that went into the design. The ambience of this new location was so fun and inviting and the staff was incredibly helpful. The service was impeccable too. We ordered the Honey Bear Pizza and the Field Mushroom Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. They actually gave us another order or the Honey Bear Pizza because the first pizza was burnt on one side. The pizza was probably 4 star. The online order process was a -1 star. They REALLY need a guest checkout system. It was easy to add the pizza to the cart but then it required you to set up a login in addition to all your contact info. I live 1,000 miles away and likely won't be back so that was an annoying 5 minute process. Then it said it couldn't verify the credit card that I use constantly and had used just an hour before in the area. I tried another card and got same results. It said call the credit card company. They said it is would take another 8 minutes while on hold. I gave up and drive there to order. The guy was nice and took the feedback. He was also attentive when I said we were in a hotel and he got me plates and extra napkins proactively. The pizza was pretty good. The baratta was not great, but it was nice to have that as an option with the arugula and pesto. I would go back if in the area, but I will never use their online system again. read more

So while ordering, you truly feel like you are at a dive bar invading someone's space while they are trying to enjoy their meal at the bar. We ordered the Farmer's Plate to start, where you choose 3 vegetables. We did the dressed avocado (delicious), the charred Brussel sprouts (undercooked, hard, not charred, not delicious), and the broccolini (just okay.) I wanted to try the potato salad, but the person taking our order was honest and did not recommend it. I did appreciate the honesty! This came out pretty quickly. For pizza, we decided on the Honey Bear and were not disappointed. Warning: spicy means spicy here! If you are sensitive to spicy, you may not enjoy this one. Our only complaint was how long it took the pizza to come out. This place looks like it is going to be better than it is. They do a great job with social media and doing things like the pink boxes and cute cocktails make it very instagrabable... unfortunately, it does not live up to what you see on social media. The pizzas are good, but the service for pickup is terrible. Operations is horrendous. If you do not have staffing to accommodate food delivery apps, then do not do it. Last time I went to pick up myself, they completely ignored me even when I tried to get the kitchen and bartenders attention, they also ignored several food app delivery people trying to pick up. Tonight, I ordered through Uber Eats and multiple delivery people have left. It is past my delivery time and the delivery guy says they continue to ignore him, no food being given to him. And the kiddo went with the usual choice, cheese pizza. The flavor for The Burrata was minimal. Confused by the menu saying pesto (nuts) and nothing on the pizza to coordinate with that. Popped in here as I wanted somewhere local with outdoor seating. Definitely a different type of pizza place but delicious. More of a serve yourself, which was fine as I was there for the outdoor seating. The staff was all very friendly. A friend and I shared a pizza and shaved kale salad (I believe that was the name). Filled both of us up, and we enjoyed sitting outside. There are no food pictures as we were too busy chatting and eating!
