A tasty sweet treat near City Center DC…read more I enjoy coming here when my sweet tooth is talking to me lol. I ordered a small cup of banana foster & dark chocolate and during the summer time my favorite is the thai coconut milk & vietnamese cinnamon because it has a sweet & savory taste to it (the best combo ever). I normally get a small cup because the portions are filling especially if you had lunch or dinner beforehand. They also sell pints of gelato, sorbetto, tea, coffee, & seasonal drinks as well. There's seating inside & outside. The store is fairly small, but you're still able to sit with a few friends. The service was quick & you're able to try out the flavors. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Typically there's a long line, but it moves very quickly.

All were perfectly creamy and not overly sweet. Chefs kiss! I appreciated that they offer mini scoops for $3 in a cup with a cone- just the way I like it! Their gelato display was also beautiful. They have an array of non-dairy sorbets on hand as well with fun flavors like lemon lavender. I'm a sucker for hard to find and clever flavor combinations. The cherry on top? Friendly staff and clean space. Highly recommend!

Ordered the large with the Pistachio Gelato, and Ginger Turmeric and Vidama Noir Sorbets. All three flavors were superb, creamy and didn't taste artificial or excessively sweet. Points for server friendliness as I was redeeming a birthday reward, and the cashier wished me happy birthday, and joked that he forgot about the birthday rewards Toast issues. Price point is a bit steep, but as this is visibly a quality product, I will give them the benefit of the doubt on that front. Worth it as a treat is my opinion.

It's kind of on the edge of the stretch, not the highest foot traffic area, but definitely one of the worst car traffic spots. They have a set of ordering kiosks, and will call you out when they're ready for your order, including the selection of flavors. I got a crepe with gelato; although it said two flavors were included they offered me three small scoops for some reason, which still wasn't a ton. Honestly just getting the basic gelato in a cone with or without a chocolate or a macaron is better. The location has two floors, and you won't hear the honking so much upstairs. Service left something to be desired; I don't begrudge anyone who works for a living but it was not as high-caliber of an experience as I've had at other Amorinos. It also matters that this isn't the best ice cream in DC or even in Georgetown, and we have local gelato as well.

The pistachio sundae was amazing. I hope they bring that one back! I love that they use locally sourced ingredients and have a portion of their menu focused on seasonal ingredients. It's also cool that they collaborate with local restaurants to come up with very unique items. The H street location is conveniently located between Whole Foods and Solid State Bookstore. I usually stop here after grabbing groceries. They share a space with The Apollo apartment building so you can sit in the apartment's lobby, which is beautifully decorated, or sit inside Dolcezza itself. The ceiling in this place is stunning. For the sorbet, I was recommended the Lemon Opal Basil and Sour Cherry flavors, and BABY... my taste buds were dancing! Then I grabbed my surprise coffee from Will. He made me an iced Oat Milk Dolce Delizia with a hint of vanilla, and it was right up my alley. After the very first sip, it was an instant connection... with the drink, of course. The vibes were so good that my friend and I ended up sitting there talking for a couple of hours. Between the incredible sorbet, my new favorite coffee order, and the cozy atmosphere, Dolcezza has officially inspired me to start going on late-night coffee hunts and yap sessions. I'll definitely be back! Oh, and fyi... it does get a bit crowded, BUT don't let that scare you away! Everyone was super considerate and didn't linger once they finished eating, so others had a chance to grab a seat and enjoy the space too. So don't get overwhelmed--just be patient, soak in the vibe, and it'll be worth the wait! Line moved pretty quick.

I'm a Dolcezza fan and have been a customer for years. My go to for coffee is the Dulce De Leche…read morelatte. Perfectly sweet and creamy. I've tried other DDL lattes from other coffee shops around the city and this one is by far the best. It's good hot and iced. The seasonal strawberry matcha is also very good. This place is great for the seasonal drinks and gelato flavors using local ingredients. My absolute favorite seasonal flavor is the Blackberries and Cream gelato. I ate it so much last summer that I could see the color of the gelato get darker as the season progressed and as the berries reached their peak. I got a few hand packed pints to keep in the freezer but they didn't last long. The mascarpone & berries is my favorite classic flavor. I've been to every Dolcezza location in DC and my favorite is the DuPont location. The baristas are chill and somehow their drinks taste better than the other locations. Not sure how that's possible but I notice a difference. I think it has something to do with how the drink order is entered at the register. At another location, I noticed my DDL latte was entered as a latte with DDL syrup and it was noticeably off. Not sweet at all. When I asked the barista he said there was no DDL button but at DuPont the drink is perfect every time. I'm not usually focused on nitpicking but if I'm paying $10 for a coffee, I expect the taste to be consistent regardless of location. Back to DuPont. This location has decent seating but definitely isn't appropriate for longer study sessions during busy times. There's a large communal table and bar style seating along the front window that is great for people watching (or construction watching). It's conveniently located, about a 10 minute walk away from the DuPont metro. Is Dolcezza expensive? Yes. Will I continue to use my discretionary income on $10 coffee and gelato. Yes, because it makes me happy and it's an act of self care.

Great gelato and pastries! I don't like French pastries (that includes croissants especially), but…read moreI'll admit, they're actually quite good here! Typically, such pastries are too dry, stale-tasting, and crumbly for me, but here at this place, they're softer and fresher-tasting. Of course, they're still not as good as those in Montreal, Canada or France. But putting that aside... The croissants I tried here were almond, coconut chocolate, pistachio, pastrami, and chocolate twist ("chocolate torsade," with chocolate chips). Almond was boring and plain, pastrami was okay, but coconut chocolate, pistachio, and chocolate torsade were fantastic, all so indulgingly buttery and soft. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I could go back to this place just to have their croissants again! Wow, I never do this for ANY of that places (in the USA, at least. I'll gladly eat all croissants in Canada and France). ***However, do come earlier in the day for fresh pastries. Not 1-2 hours before closing time because I tried a pistachio croissant one night and it wasn't as good as I remembered--it tasted weirdly sweet, cinnamon-y, and creamy; there was no pistachio taste. It tasted so different from the first time I tried it! I think you really have to try it fresh so that you can truly taste the pistachio. Many of the gelato flavors were great. Extra dark chocolate was delicious and paired oh-SO-well(!) with amarena cherry. I'm not crazy about fruit in ice cream (or even any kind of cherry sweets), but that combo of dark chocolate and cherry was seriously DA BOMB! A must-try! Ferroro rochero (that was such a cool flavor!) and hazelnut were also fantastic. Mint, Nutella (very Nutella-y!), straciatella, and nocciola (hazelnut) were not as amazing but still very good. Please note that I'm biased towards chocolate, so non-chocolate flavors don't impress me much (well, except for that amarena cherry!). Pistachio, Oreo, Reese's, red velvet, and blood orange all ranged from "okay" to "good but nothing worthwhile." Raspberry was very tart, and mango was incredibly thick and creamy (I don't like mango and still don't like it after trying this flavor). Oh, and affogati was delicious. I really enjoyed that espresso.

I'm a chocolate lover so I chose the Reeses and and Red Velvet flavors. Both were rich, creamy and tasty. The red velvet didn't really taste like red velvet to me but it was delicious. It just didn't give that signature flavor. Since they are located at the same counter as the sushi restaurant, it doesn't really feel like a gelato or ice cream shop but that isn't a dealbreaker. I would visit again.

The person who was working there was extremely kind and let us try whatever wanted. I tried the dark chocolate and bacio flavors and ended up choosing those as my gelato for the evening. The smallest cup was a regular and came out to able $9 with tip. There was a lot of seating options outside. I'd recommend this spot for a sweet treat.

They had a larger than expected non-dairy selection so I ended up with two such flavors in addition to one more conventional gelato flavor. All of them, including and almond nougat creation that was new to me, a bitter chocolate sorbetto, and a kiwi flavor with little fruit pieces, delivered amply on flavor. The price was more eye-watering than mouthwatering. I suppose it's both a premium location and premium quality, but that was a small cup for over $10. As an occasional indulgence, I do recommend it, and given that it's a Baltimore brand whose original location is near the water, there's something appropriate about it being on the wharf.
