Came here for take out and left with no issues and a light bill! We ordered a traditional gyro, spicy gyro, and a side of greek fries. The gyros were delicious. Very fresh ingredients were used, loaded with shaved moist roasted chicken, fries were added and the sauces were flavorful and delicious! Cost per gyro was around $12.95. I would argue unless you were super hungry each gyro could last two servings! The side of greek fries was a bit confusing I will say. For the take out part, the fries came in a huge brown bag. It felt like a 5 pound bag of fries which costed $9. I think in hindsight if we had known that's how many fries we would get with a side order we would have not ordered that. Also, who charges $9 for a "side" of fries?! No one. So that was the only complaint. But, the servers were friendly and service was fast and generous. The ambiance was nice! I would visit regularly if we were in the area more often. We definitely be back hopefully soon! read more

I read some of the reviews and I was a little skeptical. I am from Boston and on my way home. I ordered the traditional gyro with lamb/steak. The pita was fresh, thick and warm. The steak was delicious. So much meat I had to eat it with a fork first. You must order it with the French fries on top. The staff was super friendly and suggestive. They also took quite a while to make our orders and there was a lot of confusion behind the counter (mixed up meats, didn't know who ordered what). By the size of the bowl you would not thing it's much but they PACK the bowl with all of the ingredients you choose. The shaved chicken is amazing, and they also give you a TON! The tzatziki is so flavorful. The bowls come with warm pita bread on the side. This place will have you feeling stuffed for a very reasonable price! We saw this place on Phantom Gourmet and decided to give it whirl as it looked good. We were pleasantly surprised to see they have beer and wine. Not top notch but that's okay with us. Then I was quickly disappointed that they had absolutely no red or white wine on a Saturday evening. OY! The meat was tough and the rest of the meal was just okay. If I were closer I might try again; maybe try something else or another time of day would be better. I just had the feeling that they were tired and wanted to get the hell out of there. What a disappointing experience. We ordered a lamb beef power bowl, a sausage bowl, and a gyro. The sausage tasted ok but was burnt to a crisp, and the tomatoes that accompanied the dish were not ripe. The power bowl tasted ok but the meat was dry. Gyro was fine. I had really high hopes for Pita. I am new to the area and I am in need of a new Greek place, but sadly..the search continues. First of all I was the only customer in the restaurant and there were 3 people behind the counter. One of the people working was obviously new. Like so new that every single thing I ordered he had NO clue what I was talking about and I had to tell him where things were on the menu ("the 1st thing under specialties"). I am normally really patient with new people because we've all been there at some point, but it was a little ridiculous. Maybe have him look over the menu for an hour before throwing him on the line?? Especially, since you have 2 other workers and only 1 customer. Despite, the slow & frustrating service... everyone was pleasant. Most importantly, though, the food. The food was OK, but not great. I tried to order an assortment of things to really give Pita a try. I ordered 2 types of Souvlaki, Dolmades, Spanakopita. I tried to order Moussaka, but they were out. The Dolmades had good flavor from the meat, but they are served warm in a lemon sauce which I opted to skip. My personal preference is to enjoy them filled or room temp with tzatziki. I, also, asked for a side of hummus, which I didn't care for. I am not sure what I didn't like it just had an odd taste of citrus or mint...I couldn't quite place what the flavor was. The Souvlaki were nothing special. Both kinds (chicken & shrimp) were charred and just tasted like the protein without any flavor. The chicken was overcooked and really dry. Lastly, the Spanakopita. Again, it was OK, but nothing special. My preference is to have a little bit of crispness somewhere, like the top layer of phyllo, but it was no where to be found. So, the dish was just kind of soggy and flat. Everything came with pita bread which was the only thing I will say I really didn't like. I love soft warm pita bread, but this was tough & chewy. I have no idea if that was just their recipe or not. Overall, the food here was OK. Nothing stood out for me. I completely understand that it's a challenging time for restaurants. Despite being the only customers, the staff took a long time to fulfill our order. They spent a bizarre amount of time standing around doing nothing while making our gyros. They moved at a slow, unhurried pace. They seemed to forget what they were doing, as they had to keep asking us to repeat what we ordered. They also spoke quietly enough that we had to keep asking them to repeat themselves. The food was mediocre; not bad, but not something I'd go back for. We went for lunch today and what an excellent experience. We all got something unique and delicious. Our service was quick and orderly. We ordered the special which was stuffed peppers. They were two fully stuffed peppers that were very filling. We are a bigger family and this place is pretty easy to just pull up another chair or push a few tables together. Such high hopes. American black olives. What self respecting Greek place serves tasteless black olives?! I never imagined that they would not be kalamata. Pita was freshly made. But under cooked and doughy. More dashed hopes. Finally the meat looked okay up on the spit but then he cut it off and threw it on the grill and removed every ounce of moisture from it. Not one bite was moist and yummy except for the glob of fat that had some flavor and a little bit of moisture but the rest of the meat was like gum and I had to spit it out or I was going to be chewing it all day. Oh and the tomatoes on the salad were cut so small that they literally turned into liquid in the salad. This Cuisine is so easily done well and it made me sad to see that they had all the right tools to do it well and just did not do it well. Wow didn't know what to expect from this mini mall Greek place. But it beat my expectations. You could tell everything was freshly made. Everything had so much flavor! Feta cheese on my Greek salad was some of the best feta. Dressing was creamy and flavorful. Definitely come here if you like Greek. I picked up and took home. The teens that prepared our food could have cared less - weren't helpful, welcoming and definitely weren't following any kitchen health and safety protocols. The place feels tired like it's given up frankly. Gyro is not cooking just spinning under heat lamps. They're sliced and then cooked on the grill top. The habit of the server saying "we will Bring the fries over to you" doesn't work. Take note management. Tonight we finished our gyro meal waited for 25 mins for the fries (after reminding the kitchen staff 3 times that we hadn't received them). They then proceeded to ignore our repeated requests and finally, after the fourth attempt they put the fries into the fryer! They didn't even start the process the previous 3 times smh. Stopped in to try it out. Chipotle-like feel as you order at a counter where you choose what you'd like. Had the spanakopita which tasted good however not sure of the heating method as it turned all the delicious crispy layers of phyllo into a soggy mess. A shame really as the portion size was generous. Coupled this with an order of dolmades which I misread too quickly on the menu as having meat. My bad. They were tasty and appeared freshly made. I'm not sure why I am so reluctant to ask about the heating method. Maybe it was in an oven but when they placed it in the to go plastic container instead of the metal takeaway tin it absorbed some steam? Surprised with some low reviews for recent but usually we don't have an issue with service. Had noticed on occasion it's definitely easier to order in person versus over the phone/online. Our mainstays are the beef/lamb gyro - the ones with fries in the pita or I get a salad. Salads are large and usually filling)esp if protein added). The pita is made fresh. There is usually enough between my husband and I to also share some with our kids(or we order an extra pita/fries). Been coming here for a long time, always spot on. This time it was bad, had to tell young girl 3 times what I wanted on the gyro. What made this a bad visit was seemed like the beef & lamb was dried out & cut way to thick like beef jerky. Your sub shops have their gyros this thick. Usually it's nice and thin & tasteful. And when you walk in you can see it spinning right behind the counter. So gyros are made fresh to order. This is like a Greek Chipotle. Stand in line, they make it front of you, its goes down the assembly line. Fresh made pita, grilled right in front of you-is a huge plus. In the back you can see big spits of meat roasting which are shaved and transferred to the line. I had the traditional gyro- pork, fries, sauce, onion, tomato, sliced cukes. I found the meat to be a tad greasy and tough. Quite chewy which I thought it was supposed to be thin and tender. Flavors were good. Nice and fresh. $8 with some change. read more

Very good experience at Pita. Don't let the cafeteria atmosphere fool you...this is real food. They make the pitas right in front of you, then fill them with your your selections. I ordered the Fiery Greek Gyro with beef & lamb which comes with a feta spread. It was delicious and so big! The other members of my party all really liked their food as well. Prices are very reasonable for the huge amount of food that you get. Our only disappointment was that although their website says that they have Greek beer and wine they had neither. Stopped by here on the way home from Maine. I ordered a salad with lamb/beef and grape leaves. I liked the large portion of feta that came with the salad. However I felt that the meat was a little on the dry side. The grape leaves had meat and rice in them. I usually like them without meat so just a heads up if you are in my boat.
