    Power bowl with chicken
    Nicholas W.

Service was poor and food tasted bad. Go elsewhere for Mediterranean. The staff were not very friendly or energetic, and it felt that they were unhappy to be there. They also took quite a while to make our orders and there was a lot of confusion behind the counter (mixed up meats, didn't know who ordered what). If only the food could've compensated for the service. The pita was dry and the hummus was grainy. The chicken was dry and the tzatziki looked an awful lot like sour cream. Not very flavorful. I also never got the opportunity to add toppings, so it was just rice, meat, and beans.

Custom Greek pita bowl with chicken. Comes with pita bread (not pictured).

By the size of the bowl you would not thing it's much but they PACK the bowl with all of the ingredients you choose. The shaved chicken is amazing, and they also give you a TON! The tzatziki is so flavorful. The bowls come with warm pita bread on the side. This place will have you feeling stuffed for a very reasonable price! They also offer authentic Greek dishes and gyros which I haven't even tried because I'm so satisfied with the bowls!

Food was lower then average but what was upsetting was the floor by the windows was crawling with ants and when mentioned to the staff she could have care less this Pic is of just 1 French frie there were at least 10 GROSS and there were French fries in the gyros as filler I guess ordered once take out it OK never again

Good Gyros, generous portions. The best part about it are the pitas themselves, just like the name suggests.

There was only one other table when we arrived. We ordered and waited about 10 minutes. Lentil soup was brought out. It was okay. 10 minutes later, we received our grape leaves... that cost $14.99. We were given four pieces (see photo). That's pretty outrageous. But okay, noted- we'll make sure not to order that next time. Another 10 minutes later, my partner received his falafel wrap. It just wasn't that good. It was pressed so there's no crispy falafel, just squished texture. It also wasn't flavorful at all. I'm waiting for my dish (grilled fish), and by the time my partner finishes the wrap, I see the waitress bringing out grilled fish... which she promptly gives to a table that just sat down. Another table starts to walk out because it's taking so long, but the owner stops them. I let the owner know that I'm ready to leave because my partner is done with dinner and I'm done waiting. She assures me that my fish will be out within 5 minutes. Eventually it comes out, but at this point I'm been waiting for about an hour, everything was brought out so slowly, and the food just wasn't that good. Well the fish and rice was fantastic - great flavor for both. Devoured the whole thing. We also ordered baklava, and again.. disappointing. Too much syrup and soaked to the point of being gummy. This was about $80 for everything. Although the fish was good, I can't handle the bad service and disappointing food.

That's a heavy load to take on and he does a great job at it. Everything is super cheap here and taste great. If you're a student at Middlesex Community college like me. Let's face it, theres days when we're broke and need a place to grab a cheap quick lunch. This is definitely the spot. Pizza rolls: I love these things. He made them perfectly and you can tell he hand rolls them himself. And they're only a $1!! Double cheeseburger: BOMB! I'm so picky with burgers. I don't give a shit if it's messy looking, lets be real. If it tastes good, it's serving it's purpose. I'm super picky and customized it as I liked and he accommodated it. Thank you! Not many places do! Fries: perfectly crunchy. Not soft and soggy like most places. Maybe a little less seasoning. I know not a lot of people like spicy foods. But I enjoy it. Chicken Kabob Plate: my boyfriend and I split this because of how big it was. We ordered it with extra rice instead of the usual side of salad it comes with. The owner offered us either Indian or Spanish rice. We went with the Spanish and it tasted great, it even had vegetables in it. The chicken was nice and juicy with grilled peppers and onions. The rice and chicken had a nice kick to it. Not too spicy and just flavor. Chicken and Fries (not pictured): My boyfriend devoured this. The chicken is definitely not anything like crown fried or Jacqueline's chicken. The owner literally uses his own recipe. My boyfriend loved it and the chicken looked really fresh and juicy. He swallowed the thing before I even got a chance to take a picture of it lol. Please go visit guys! This little place has so much potential. It might seem a little stand off it by the looks of it but it's worth going in and trying it out The owner is so sweet, he even offered my boyfriend a free banana milkshake while he waited for the food to be done. Thanks Jimmy! Try it out! You won't regret it !

So we just ordered the lunch menu and ordered a mini buffet for ourselves. Ordered the onion pakora as an appetizer. For some reason I thought it was going to come with some sort of sauce. The veggie option was the malai kofta. (I liked this one the best, bc it was sweet) . It's vegetable cheese dumplings in a cashew sauce. the chicken option was the priya chicken special. (Second best) This was good. It was saucy. and then we got the lamb masala. This one was more on the tomato-sour side. I like more of a creamy sauces. These dishes weren't as spicy. After looking over the menu, I decided to order Chez Rafiki's Special: the "Chicken Killer" (Rice, Fries, Chicken Shawarma, Pickled Red Onion, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Garlic Sauce, Feta Cheese). I also ordered a side of Falafel. I absolutely loved the Chicken Killer; a symphony of Mediterranean flavors and spices. My son has never tried this kind of cuisine before. He wouldn't touch the Chicken Killer but he absolutely loved the Falafel. He happily gobbled down half of the Falafel balls. I would definitely order from Chez Rafiki's again if I saw them at another brewery or festival.
