Tried this for the first time today. Had the spicy lamb pita. Holy smokes was that good. Headed up with cucumber salad, pickled cabbage, white beans, and Taziki. It was one of the best pitas I've ever had. The lamb was spicy and tasted great. All the veg were fresh and crunchy. And the tzatziki was smooth and bound the whole thing together. Service was fast even though my lamb was cooked to order. Ambience is that of a very clean fast moving restaurant. Anybody else I saw in there appeared to be enjoying what they got. I'm typically in Lowell every other week. Bro in law recommended trying Pera for lunch. Told him I was actually craving for some Mediterranean food. I wanted the whole rice bowl with toppings and then some type of sauce drizzled on top. Rice bowl is a little under $12 for one protein, 5 toppings, and two sauces of your choice. For the price, the portion was really generous . I got the lamb rice bowl. Their red cabbage was so good. Somewhat like a slaw. The tomatoes/cucumbers were so refreshing . Their Garlic sauce was so good.... I legit would pick their garlic sauce over halal guys. The lamb was ok. It was lacking flavor for me. I think sticking to their chicken will be better. That is why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. I will for sure come back and try their chicken doner . Definitely a good spot to stop by and grab lunch. Came here with a buddy of mine because he wanted some Mediterranean food and boy were we disappointed. Let's just say that the service was the only positive part of our trip. He got the spicy chicken pita sandwich and the chicken tasted like a flavorless pre-frozen processed chicken patty full of cartilage. I got the braised beef... I don't think they know what braised beef is supposed to taste like because it was almost flavorless and very dry. Nice quiet restaurant. Very clean. The ordering menu (Step #1, 2 , 3 ) reads from right to left, so start far right as you are ordering (just like Chipotle). I'm all about customer service and will frequent restaurants who provide a good customer experience. Lately we've been getting the grape leaves/falafel plate which also comes with a pita. I was so excited when I came to know this restaurant was opening in my neighborhood. We don't have a nice falafel place around and so I was literally counting down days for its opening. They have nicely renovated the place. It is definitely cuter than the previous restaurant at the same location. Their renovation has made the space more open with lots of light and cute interior. Here is our take away from our first meal we ate here yesterday: Pros: *The falafel is super delicious it is a little different from your traditional falafel but nonetheless very tasty. Crispy on the outside and soft from the inside, husband and I loved every bite of it. *The bean salad was tasty as well. *The eggplant in tomato sauce was amazing and paired well with their soft hot pita. Must order!! Areas where they need to make a few improvements: *For a place that serves food where most of the items are pre-made, it took them about 25 minutes to get our meal ready. It was taking long for everyone else's orders as well. I understand that their employees might be new and getting a hang of things, but turnaround times for orders need to worked on. I understand that they just opened and I'm hoping that overtime it will get better. *The biggest fail was their rice. It had no seasoning and was al dente. I like my rice on the fully cooked/softer side and did not enjoy their rice at all. *The portions overall are fine but the way they make their bowl needs to be worked on. The proportion to rice versus other toppings is way off. Most of our bowl was filled with rice. The other toppings like tzatziki, baba ghanoush and other veggies we really skimmed on. If you are including certain toppings in the price of the bowl you need to give enough quantity to be able to enjoy it. We got a one teaspoon of the tzatziki and baba ganoush, a few spoons of salad and rest of the bow was all rice. They were out of grilled veggies so we could not try that. *The portion size for the french fries was fine, they were crispy as well. But there was no seasoning, not even salt on them. Pretty bland for our taste. The meal was more of a three star but I'm giving them four because I know that there's a lot of scope for improvement and that they have just opened. We definitely want to try more dishes from the menu, so looking forward to eating here again soon. read more

I was a little unsure about this place because of old reviews or something I had heard, not really 100% what it was but I was reluctant. In the last two weeks we had it twice. Once I had the gyro in a pita and the 2nd time I had it in the bowl. Both time I had it with white rice, veggies, Tzatziki sauce, feta and it's been very good. The restaurant is new construction and the guys that work there are friendly enough. In short, it's a great option for Tewksbury or those passing through looking for an alternative to pizza, sandwiches and the like. Also, the fact that I had it twice in two weeks says a lot. Price wise I wouldn't call it cheap (but nothing is these days) but on the other hand they do give you a decent amount of food-which is prob a factor in why I went back fairly soon. Whenever I can eat and have some leftovers it's a good thing. I wish Yelp had an option for half start and even quarter stars-seems like that would be a more detailed option. I think I would prob give it a 4.25-4.5, but because of the portions and the place is VERY clean when we have gone I will round up to 5-stars (which I try not to just give to any place). I've been to Pera four times now. This _should_ be a place that I love, but, sadly, it doesn't quite get there. The food is always very fresh and healthy, the price is reasonable, portion size is ok, staff is friendly... I couldn't quite put my finger on why I was never fully satisfied. Not disappointed, but certainly not wowed. After some contemplation, I think I figured it out. Yes, the food is very healthy, but it also _tastes_ very healthy... in that, it doesn't really taste like anything. I was babysitting a 5 year old once who didn't want to eat white fish his mom had cooked for dinner, because, according to him, "this fish tastes like air". That's kind of how Pera's food is... it tastes like air. I am a huge fan of middle-eastern and Mediterranean food, but this food lacks any real distinctive flavors and overall ends up a bit too plain/bland. The closest comparison to Pera in the area would probably be Egyptian Grill in Lowell. Flavor-wise, I would choose Egyptian Grill over Pera. In terms of freshness / variety / nutrition, Pera comes out on top. read more

3.5 stars. Positives: great portion sizes, pita is amazing, French fries are really good. Food was ready on time and tasted fresh. Side sauces (tahini, tzatziki, and garlic sauce) were very good. Eh: falafel was ok. Not light and fluffy, but dense. A little too salty. Not so positive: hummus was really weird. Not creamy - kind of clumpy. It's missing something (maybe needs a little more olive oil and/or tahini). I would go back. Hopefully they iron out a few things over time. We've order from Pera several times in the past. It was always good when we ordered in store. This time, I was coming from an event with my kids and ordered quickly online. I added extra falafel, extra garlic sauce on the side and pita all at an additional cost, and the garlic sauce and pita are both missing. The bowl was very underwhelming. Because of my extra falafel ordered, my bowl barely had any meat in it, mostly rice and falafel. I had hoped they would put the extra falafel into a separate container. Overall very disappointed this time. If ordering, I'd recommend going in store because we've always had a good experience in those cases! read more

We ordered the same dish, rice bowl with spicy lamb, arugula, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. We both received different portions. I had more of a lettuce bowl and my partner had a rice bowl with extra lamb. The lamb is not spicy and was extremely over cooked. Very fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. But very bland food. Also ordered a side of fries which were cold and soggy. I understand fries will not be the crispiest when you get take out but these were the worse possible soggy fries. Not even ketchup could save it. Spent $43. Definitely recommend going to Skewerz in Woburn. They used to be where Peta is now. Never again. read more
