Really saddens me to write this review since I was so looking forward to eating here. I had an awful experience here and cannot see myself coming back, especially for the prices they charge. Perhaps we caught them on an off day, but it was bad. There was only one other table when we arrived. We ordered and waited about 10 minutes. Lentil soup was brought out. It was okay. 10 minutes later, we received our grape leaves... that cost $14.99. We were given four pieces (see photo). That's pretty outrageous. But okay, noted- we'll make sure not to order that next time. Another 10 minutes later, my partner received his falafel wrap. It just wasn't that good. It was pressed so there's no crispy falafel, just squished texture. It also wasn't flavorful at all. I'm waiting for my dish (grilled fish), and by the time my partner finishes the wrap, I see the waitress bringing out grilled fish... which she promptly gives to a table that just sat down. Another table starts to walk out because it's taking so long, but the owner stops them. I let the owner know that I'm ready to leave because my partner is done with dinner and I'm done waiting. She assures me that my fish will be out within 5 minutes. Eventually it comes out, but at this point I'm been waiting for about an hour, everything was brought out so slowly, and the food just wasn't that good. Well the fish and rice was fantastic - great flavor for both. Devoured the whole thing. We also ordered baklava, and again.. disappointing. Too much syrup and soaked to the point of being gummy. I agree with the other reviews, this spot is a gem. I think it's Mediterranean or similar to it. The portion sizes were massive. Great to order for gatherings or enough food to eat for several nights. Grilled Eggplant- The eggplant was huge and nicely charred. They didn't cut it up to stack the meat on top. I thought it was interesting. Flavor-wise was good. Served on rice pilaf. Grilled Fish- Excellent and I would order this again. Simple grilled fish, on rice. Squeeze some lemon on it, delish. Meat Pie Mezze- Another huge dish. The exterior was a classic pastry shell, but the meat wasn't as savory as I thought it would be. Lemonade- A must-get to compliment the dishes. Wow! I mean, I was expecting good but not THIS good. The menu is full of Lebanese and Iraqi dishes ! The falafel is perfect- crispy on the outside and soft after bite. We had a lovely dinner at Lemon and Thyme tonight. I was ravenous after a day spent at the Lowell open studios. The food was quick and delicious. I had the lamb Shwarma wrap and I shared a sampler appetizer. The hummus and baba ganoush were great. The service was excellent (they even turned down the music for me) as well. Highly recommend! It was in the old Lowell textile museum which is a very nice open space with a huge piece of textile machinery which was very cool to see, especially if you're interested in history or mechanics. read more

My husband and I and another couple had a magnificent authentic meal. Marcie our server was fantastic! She was so attentive to our requests. The ambiance was quiet but charming. The shrimp kabobs were perfectly cooked. The lamb shank was juicy and tender and the smoked rice added a wonderful flavor to the dish. My visit was terrible, which was very disappointing given the great reviews - apparently the restaurant changed hands and since then the reviews have been poor. There was no ambience, it's an odd open area inside an office building, felt more like a seating area for employees to eat lunch from a cafeteria than a restaurant. It was unclear if you would have a wait staff if you sat down or if you needed to order and go pick it up from the counter when it's done, so I asked. The person behind the counter was not friendly nor overly helpful. Initially they said to sit at a table and they'd be over to take our order, 15 mins later they haven't come and I go back to the counter to inquire; then the answer was that we needed to order at the register, they take our order but don't ring it in and say to sit, they brought out the food when it was done but then never came back, again I went to the counter to ask for assistance as my friend's order was incorrect, with attitude they come to the table. Never came back so when we were finished we cleared our plates and went to the counter to pay. The food was the worst part. I got falafel and I kid you not, it was hard as a rock; I tapped it on the plate and you would have thought I was tapping with my fork. The seasoned fries were bland, my friend got the falafel wrap which was supposed to have tahini sauce on it. As if the missing sauce wasn't enough, the person working then proceeded to argue with her about whether or not there was any sauce on it and which type of sauce it came with. Ultimately she was the bigger person and simply asked for tahini for dipping and dropped the argument; the staff seemed annoyed by us. I've been coming here for many years now and rarely had any complaints. I went recently and discovered that their (traditional ground chicken skewers) Kuftas are not only flavorless but they are extremely dry and I ended up throwing away the whole order. I also noticed that they put less veggies in there, before you would get 2 literal pieces of white onion circle strips including a couple cherry tomatoes. They have now reduced it to one measly onion strip, 1 cherry tomato and 1 piece of thin strip of green pepper. Their smokey rice used to be a colorful vibrant red and it was seasoned better. Now, it's salty, dry, and does not even have the color consistency as before. I understand that the pandemic has caused a lot of businesses to scrounge and find ways to cut costs but at this point it may no longer be worth it. I am disappointed because I really loved this joint and this was my favorite Mediterranean place in the Greater Lowell area. If you want the good stuff, you usually have to go to Boston, Cambridge or Natick/Framingham area. Since last times order, I suspect they have changed owners because the food tasted very differently. The main star should be the Kufta but unfortunately, it could not measure up. Their falafels have now been reduced to a very very thin dry crisp. They used to be crispy on the outside but fluffy and moist on the inside. When I tried it, I had difficulty shoving the fork into it as they are so thin and dry and hard...This is extremely disappointing and sad. read more

I have ordered food from L&T over the past 2 years for my girlfriend n self. It's been really consistent as far as quality and flavor goes. However I ordered delivery again last weekend (2/24/23) and wonder if it's under new management, ownership or even new cooks. The kibbeh time was dry, like it was old and leftover. Not only that it was three pieces like before but 1/2 the size. Very disappointing. For the price of 15.99 for the appetizer. Only three dry, hard and bland bites. The shawarma's, lamb and chicken were much like the kibbeh Not to mention flavorless, dry and smaller than before. After this experience it left with the desire to go have Greek Gyro's next time in Chelmsford Three items 1 app. 2 wrap plates (which included fries and French fry portion was much larger than before) the check was 57.00$ n change before delivery, service fee and tip. After visiting the Western Avenue Art Studios you have to have a meal at Lemon and Thyme. I enjoyed a cup of the best lentil soup I've ever had followed by a simple, tasty side salad. I was rewarded for my selection of the Mousakka with wonderfully roasted and marinated eggplant, chickpeas, tomatoes, and peppers. My family of 6 ordered from there - $150 worth of food. They said it would be ready in 10 mins. We go over there to pick it up, and they say just 5 more minutes. Ok...no problem. And then they "just 5 minute"'d us for 40 more minutes. The food was cold. The quality went down 10 fold. The food was dry, condiments and extras were forgotten, and the menu wasn't clear between some dishes so they ended up being not what we expected. Meat was chewy and dry, the "salad" was a few leaves of romaine with oily fried pieces of pita on top. 6 small pieces of falafel side - over $12. No z'attar on the zattar fries. One part of the order was forgotten. We had to go back to pick it up like an hour later. When we got there we explained everything, it was not a good experience. There was another couple there that got up to leave in the process of us explaining our grievances. They told them 5 more minutes after they had waited for 30 minutes. It was very dead by the way, and 2 people working. They couldn't refund us because the owner wasn't there. They gave us the part of the order they forgot -- grape leaves and threw in an extra order -- ok thanks. Then when we got back and opened them, there was aluminum foil baked into the leaves. Non edible. This food was worth $50 at most. Unbelievably overpriced for low quality. Save your money! read more

This little bistro is a little out of the norm. It is basically in the lobby of a condominium residence. We could see people coming in with their groceries to go up to their apartments. At one point we decided it would be dangerous if we lived there. The baba ganoush is one of the best I've had. It was served with pita chips and bread. The entrees came with a salad, we got one Greek and the other Napa. We went for the falafel and were not disappointed. they make it flat with a hole in the middle so it is crunchy goodness. The Moussaka was unlike any moussaka I've encountered before...a bed of rice with a layer of eggplant, tomato and chickpeas. It was very tasty. The off-put was the price. Without any meat and served on a small salad plate there was no justification for charging $17 for the dish.
