Awesome newer little Lebanese restaurant, very nicely decorated and comfortable. I would have to say the best Falafel's, tahini and Baklava I've ever had!! Tried a couple of the Lebanese wines, decided on the Chateau Kefraya Red, very nice full bodied wine and not super dry. Our first trip to Monas was a success! The service, ambiance, and food were all great! Our drinks and food both came very quickly, and they were fresh and beautiful (disregard my photos, I forgot to take them until after we started eating.) We ordered 3 mezzah (Mona's dip trio, grape leaves, and moussaka) and one grilled entree (kafta) and it was far too much for us two. It was all perfectly delightful, I got a side of toum sauce and dipped my fries in it and spread it on everything. I highly recommend everything we got but I'll get the dip trio every time I go bc it's perfect to spread on all the other food and pita! We'll be back! read more

I am 100% Lebanese born and raised on this cuisine. I can tell you with certainty: this food is authentic and delicious. Possibly the best Lebanese/Mediterranean you can get in New Hampshire, and top tier in New England. If you are new to this type of food, don't make the mistake of thinking it's one dish per person. "tapas"/family style is best here. Get the hummus, Rakakat, sambousek especially. In terms of meat, the beef kabob was the best. Not to mention the lovely interior and friendly service. If you haven't yet tried Mona's Mediterranean , PLEASE DO!! What a fantastic little project this Lebanese family has worked SO HARD on for the last 4 years! Brittany's family used to frequent a now moved? Lebanese restaurant in Methuen called Shadi's that was really good.. but imo Mona's is *great*. With the immediate sweetness of Mona herself greeting snd seating you, to the AMAZING food that is all fresh to order and her own recipes, to Mona quietly sitting a table away from us folding napkins, to great service from Raegan, and the cherry on top being when we asked Mona about the restaurant she blossomed into telling us 'the story'. She and her husband toiled away for 4 years converting the run down comic book store to a quaint little family restaurant they did *everything* on. She is a delight - and so is everything about their restaurant. Although we've had grape leaves and Kibbeh, Shwarma, tabouli etc all before we weren't sure which so we ordered the large Mezzah for 3 (for 4 of us). It was a LOT of food. We greatly enjoyed our meal , there were many delicious options for me (the vegan) and my boyfriend who does not have any restrictions. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We were so happy with the many of the mezzah appetizers. I would recommend the toum sauce, revelatory ! All the folks serving were lovely, kind, and so attentive. Opening night tonight. It's so nice to see more ethnic food types making their way into Southern New Hampshire. Mona's offered a fresh taste of the mediterranean flavors. Mona's Mediterranean is a fabulous restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed dinner there last saturday. The food was very tasty, the waitstaff extraordinarily courteous and attentive and the seating was very comfortable and quiet--until the dancing started. To our surprise, a belly dancer performs on saturday nights. She was great!Very entertaining and talented. Their hummus is out of this world! I highly recommend Mona's. The food, service, and ambiance were all very good, and I appreciated the overall dining experience. However, I'm giving 3 stars due to the limited variety on the menu. It was difficult to find options that weren't family-style meals, and there were very few choices for vegetarians--mostly just appetizers. I was also surprised to find no seafood options at all. Additionally, the pricing felt a bit steep both in terms of portion size and considering the location (almost comparable to Boston-area restaurants). I truly believe in supporting local businesses, and with a few adjustments to the menu--particularly in terms of variety and dietary inclusivity--I think this spot has great potential. I look forward to seeing how it evolves and hope to visit again in the future. read more

I ate there last night (Friday) with a friend. I think it's been open a couple of weeks, so bearing that in mind it wasn't bad. The Greek/Lebanese menu had some interesting dishes and as I love lamb, I was fine with the variety. The mojito I had was very good with 'dragon' Bacardi. One thing that spoilt it for me was one woman sitting on an opposite table that was so noisy it was obnoxious, totally spoiling my meal. read more

Such a pretty interior! The owners are very proud of this labor of love they've created. Greeted and seated quickly. Our server Reagan was knowledgeable and offered great recommendations. We were served a small tasting dish of green olives, pickled turnip and wild cucumbers. Very tasty! Our drinks came quickly and were well prepared and delicious. The Lebanese martini was gin based and perfectly balanced with lemon and champagne. Not too sweet. We started our meal with the beef kibbeh and toum sauce, garlic, lemon and oil whipped in to a luscious creamy sauce. It was not over powered with garlic. Perfrction! An excellent accompaniment to the kibbeh which was seasoned perfectly and a great start to our meals. I ordered the lamb kabobs medium rare which came with a choice of rice or fries. I opted for the rice. Served with a side of with pita loaded with onion, parsley and tomatoes. So fresh! The lamb was tender and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed this dish. My husband ordered the beef sharwma. Marinated sliced beef with a delicious Tahini sauce, rice and pita with onions, tomatoes and parsley. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Reagan was attentive and very sweet. We ended our meal with the milk pudding with orange blossom and rose water and topped with pistachio. Custard like with such a beautiful and mild lingering flavor of rose and orange. It was busy with almost every table filled but the service was excellent and the food was delivered quickly. I am hesitating on writing this review because I want to keep this place for myself! My wife and I ate their last night. We split the Fattoush which is basically a salad, but this is no ordinary salad. The mixture of spices, pita chips and the lemon based dressing was spectacular! We then split the mixed grill. As we started to dig in, my wife said, "I think we need to order two of these." Why? (1) she was starving and (2) it was delicious!! Besides the lamb kabob and chicken kabob the surprise of the evening was the Kafta. Such a yummy mix of spices. There is one error on the menu. It says it comes with 4 lamb chops but it really only comes with one. The daughter that did the menus got it wrong, she said. We then split the Halawet Eljibn. It was ok. I don't think there was anything wrong with it. It just didn't do anything for us. The place is nicely appointed. It's a family run restaurant. The Dad took 3 years to rehab the place down to upholstering the chairs! SO COMFY!! His wife and daughter work there and an Uncle is the cook. This is a Lebanese restaurant. But having been to Turkey, when you look at a map of the Mediterranean, from Greece, to Turkey to Lebanon (not sure what Syrian food tastes like) they are all so similar with their unique takes on meals. My wife said, "This is the first Mediterranean food I've liked". Having just opened, there were a couple hiccups. A couple that was seated before us, was waiting for their food long after we had gotten our meal. In the end though, they seemed very happy with the food. Also, when they brought out our meal they brought the salad at the same time. Not sure if that's a Lebanese thing or what. Lastly, when the waitress asked if we wanted dessert we said yes, and she flew off. After a couple of minutes I asked my wife, "She asked if we wanted dessert, we said yes, and she left?" We just kinda chuckled. A minute later a different waitress showed up with a dessert. Odd thing was, it was what we were going to order! We told her we weren't sure it was ours because we never told them what we wanted. In the end it was ours. ESP?! ;-) The high quality ingredients in the food is what makes this place. This was such a great experience. Debbie was a great host with excellent recommendations. We brought our Lebanese friend with us on a Friday night to test the authenticity. She said it was just like the food her grandmother used to make. We opted for lots of apps, hummus, falafel, spinach pie, green beans, spicy sausage, bread salad, beef empanada like things - all so delicious! All the flavors.
