    Rice bowl
    Kent S.

Rating: 4.0 Came to stop by this place for lunch on the way back from White mountain. Its a halal restaurant that offers shawarma bowl, smash burger, chicken sandwich and wings. Its located in a plaza so plenty if parkings are available. Inside is small and has few seatings. When we arrived it was not too busy so we placed an order at the counter. We ordered the rice bowl, sweet chili wings and lemonade drink. I got rice bowl with chicken, beef, beans, queso sauce, mac and cheese, bacon, avocado, onions, tomato, cucumber, picked onions, onion crips, cheese, garlic white sauce, aioli, and hot sauce. Flavor was all over the place and mac and cheese and bacon was probably unnecessary but I ordered it to try anyways. Besides that it did taste good. Hot sauce is very spicy so be aware my partner could not finish her bowl because it was too spicy. Wings were ok at best. Lemonade was tasty and it did have hint of spice in it. Service was good but the staff did have thick accent so it was difficult to understand what he was saying sometimes. Most of the stuff like utensil and napkins were self service. Overall the place was ok. Food was good especially the bowl with right toppings and combinations. Other stuff is pretty basic. Its very comparable to place that I go to near my house and I prefer that place better. I think its a good spot for locals that wants halal food.

The food was amazing!!!! Can't say enough about this food. I ordered food then ordered more food to go. The atmosphere was amazing because people were just laughing and joking. They were playing games, which was a nice because you don't usually see that the surface was good. people weren't really smiling which was you know not that nice but you'd like to see them smile but again the food was amazing

Local to area Will recommend Will return First impression I was pleased, clean, minimal, friendly staff dressed accordingly All food is fresh and serve to order Both the chicken and the steak were very well seasoned and very tender oh, and let's not forget about the rice. The rice was pretty darn good itself. And I will mention that the bathroom is very simply stocked with some great smelling lotion and hand soap, and it's not your typical pump, hand soap, and lotion oh, and the paper towels they're not cheap paper towels either and they also give you some tissues for you women that like to blot your lipstick or fix your eyeliner And I guess we'll talk about that. Amazing dessert loaded waffle. All I can say is my husband's addicted just by the looks and then you dive in and he's afraid this is his new spot. The serving size is well enough to share one bowl between the two of you I hope that everybody will come and check the spot out and enjoy their time here

The portion size is variable. I've had it "generous" and I've had it "Whoa - that's a LOT of food". They're not covered with a standard tzatziki sauce - theirs is more feta forward. Super tasty. The fries vary as well. Sometimes a bit crunchier and sometimes, while still crunchy, more toward McD fries style. But it's just the outer surface that crunches. Inside it's smooth and creamy. Top drawer. You'll find that they tuck a few fries into the wrap. A nice touch. The only negative point is speed. I've always been there early - the first for lunch. But it still takes a fair bit of time to get the food. Arrive during the crowded time and you're definitely going to be waiting around. But ... worth it. They have a lot more on the menu and have an interesting alcohol free beer/soda that was new to me and a nice change from actual soda. Definitely worth a visit.

I won't be getting that again. We also got a Greek Salad, and 2 Add 1 Polpetti. I was told the salad was good, we couldn't add grilled chicken today because of issues on DoorDash, hence the Add 1 Polpetti. The only comment on the meatballs was that they came with no sauce- while they were tasty, they expected sauce. (Makes sense)?! Overall, the food was fresh, and flavorful. I am not sure if we would order again? For the cost, I expect more. They seemed super helpful, and friendly. Since this was delivery, I can't speak to ambiance!

Don't get me wrong, our waitress was polite, but every time we mentioned something, there just wasn't any follow-through. I had asked for extra bread and a new napkin and they never arrived. When my boyfriend asked for more water, she responded along the lines of she was about to do it, which came off like it was an inconvenience. I also wasn't offered fresh pepper and had to ask for Parmesan cheese, which made things feel a little off. I ordered the Linguine ai Frutti di Mare with clams, calamari, mussels, scallops, shrimp, and a lobster tail. The seafood itself was cooked pretty well, but the pasta was heavily overcooked, which was such a bummer because we come here at least twice a year and usually look forward to it. Afterward, I asked if the pasta was homemade and was told you have to specifically request that. I feel like that's something that should be mentioned upfront when ordering. Also, I forgot to mention they add radishes to the salad and no one asked about allergies. When I got mine, there was a big radish in it and I just had to hope I removed them all, which wasn't a great feeling. I don't know what changed, but overall this visit just felt a little disappointing compared to what we're used to.

The food: Mostly hit as we hoped! Chicken parm was great, marinara was excellent! The surprise was the bolognese on my partner's spaghetti side, which was a bit bland, expected the opposite - both were still great to be clear. Chicken Caesar salad was on point as much as a salad can be. ;) The service: This is the real issue. Only two of us, and about 5 seconds after giving my drink order (while my partner was still ordering her drink) and getting a initial look of disapproval when ordering water on the waitress's first pass (wanted to look at the drink menu), I asked to swap the liquor in my Olde Fashion to something she mentioned under her breath when I first ordered it (took me a minute to process it). The waitress said it was "too late" with her handheld because it's instantly sent to the bar. If that's true, that's a pretty bad system, efficiency be damned. We were within earshot of many other tables - our waitress didn't explain dishes or specials like we saw/heard other servers doing (left us feeling regretful with our food choices), and she tried to take my card before I even opened the bill... this is after telling us we had to wait 15 minutes for a second round of bread (haha, which showed up 35 minutes later - petty, but annoying). Things were bad enough with the waitress that we actually asked to box up our mains shortly after receiving them (ate less than 10% of either). This was our second visit (first was takeout, which was great) and our first time dining in. Being in Customer Service and having a history in the restaurant industry, on the way out (after paying and tipping, aka not looking for a discount), I hesitated walking out the door and turned to ask for a manager. The front-of-house host said he'd speak as the manager and responded to everything with a sarcastic "that's unfortunate" / "that's our standards" / "that's too bad" / and sent us on our way. Not big complainers, hate doing it, but this one stuck with us, especially with the high praise and relatively premium prices this restaurant seemingly gets online -- bad taste service-wise, great taste food-wise. Looking around, most of the customers are of an older demographic, and again, most of the waitstaff seemed awesome (especially compared to ours). Would absolutely get the food again. However, as someone that lives on the North End of Elm St, I would never dine in again if this is what they consider acceptable service... what more can we do besides speak up about our concerns, after settling the tab... being told that's "normal" is gross in my opinion. Working in restaurants in the past, if that's their standard, then I distrust their entire approach to service.

I ordered the Zeus gyro along with a side of fries. The fries came out piping hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. They were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and honestly some of the better fries I've had in a while. A great start to the meal. The gyro itself had great flavor--the ingredients were fresh, the toppings were vibrant, and the seasoning was spot on. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm when it reached the table. The taste was good enough that I kept going, but I couldn't help but think how much better it would have been served hot. A gyro with that much potential deserves to come out at full temperature, and I was disappointed that it didn't quite get there. That said, the overall experience was still positive. The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the ingredients make me believe this was probably an off moment in the kitchen. I'd definitely give them another shot because the foundation is clearly solid--and when that gyro comes out hot, I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Worth a visit, and worth trying again.
