Tucked away on a side street in Nashua is Riviera Nayarit. Upon entering it looks like your typical Mexican-restaurant, bright colors every where and the smell of delicious food being cooked. Sadly that is all this place has to offer the service was ok a little slow in my opinion, but we will let that slide since everyone is short staffed and this could have been the case here. The menu is huge and with a menu that big usually the food is nothing to rave about and the case here was no different. The food is bland the salsa for chips is runny and tasted like it came out of a container, the guacamole was alright but nothing that your taste buds will dance for. Unless you like your Mexican food bland I unfortunately do not recommend Riviera Nayarit nor will I return.

Excellent Mexican food in the area! Service is a bit slow, but we always leave satisfied with the food. The margaritas are giant - there's a page for special margaritas as well as house margaritas. There's a lot of seafood (ceviche, aquachile, grilled and fried). Street tacos are fantastic and there is amazing heat in the house hot sauce. The elote had decent flavor but it was frozen corn so it wasn't great for that reason. The enchiladas and quesadillas were delicious and packed with protein and onions. The queso with chorizo was also delicious.

    my grilled taco salad, delish!

Went there with some family for dinner and it was delicious! We sat there talking for a couple of hours and the staff were so polite and patient. Would definitely go there again!

    Amazing appetizers!

First visit was a success. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND GREAT STAFF, food and atmosphere. We WILL definitely be back again soon. If you have not been here yet, please make time and go.

    Several days old guacamole

We were in the area, and decided to give it a try. We walked in around 4pm and there was not a soul in there. We ordered several entrees. When the waitress brought our food out, one of our rice, beans and guacamole plates had a long black hair over it. She apologized and brought out an "new one" about one minute later, but it was certainly the same plate, with a new slice of tomato instead. Didn't fool us. Meat and veggies in fajitas seem to be consistently burned at the bottom. Guacamole(shown in photos) was at least a day old with brownish hue to it. That's something you'd expect at a gas station, but not highly rated restaurant. Perhaps, all those people that left awesome reviews for this place, usually get their Mexican food at Taco Bell... ‍

Absolutely incredible food, best Mexican I've had in the southern NH area. Highly recommend to anyone who loves seafood or Mexican. Octopus was perfectly tender, wife loved the tacos, and the shrimp app with different sauces was worth the price of admission alone

    Tacos!

Best street tacos and ceviche in the area. I'm from Arizona with Mexican heritage and I'm here to tell you the place is legit. Service is spotty, but only because of staffing. They are very friendly, just don't be in a hurry. Kind of like actually being in Mexico. Well worth it, and my favorite place to go on Taco Tuesday.

For a quick weekday lunch I decided to try out La Carreta (convenient when driving Southbound on DW…read moreHighway on the way to shopping in South Nashua). At 2pm the restaurant seemed lively even at less than half capacity. I got seated, placed an order, and received my food within 5 minutes. The complimentary chips and salsa seemed decent. Light, not too oily or salty, but held up to the salsa. The salsa itself had a hint of herbal. A bit sweet for my taste but that's a personal nitpick. My order was the lunch special version of the Pollo Sinaloa ($14.99) - half a chicken breast marinated and grilled with zucchini, mushrooms, onion, and peppers served with rice, beans, and 2 flour tortillas. The chicken was in the form of a thin cutlet and a bit small. However, the overall portion proved quite filling. Rice, beans, and grilled vegetables all tasted like, well, rice beans and grilled vegetables. WYSIWYG Service was cordial and pleasant. My server had some extra energy and pep that seemed genuine. Overall, this was the prototypical Mexican-American restaurant experience. Food aside, it had the decorative plates, stylized interior, and Spanish music playing.

I give this spot 2 stars. Some of dishes were fine (beef tacos) while the enchiladas looked and…read moretasted like cafeteria food. It was bland, the whole plate was lukewarm and brown. Nothing fresh on the plate, generally unappetizing. Ambiance is festive and staff were mildly attentive. I get the sense people come for margaritas and Happy Hour more than the food. Overall it was just 'fine' and nothing to write home about. I've had MUCH better Mexican, this is on the bottom of my list.

I think it's important to share feedback not only for other diners but also for restaurants owners/…read moreoperators. While it has been awhile since I last wrote a review I thought this dining experience warranted one. Experience: - The Square is super cute and offers ample parking. -The bathrooms smell awful, from the moment you walk in the hallway there is clearly a plumbing issue present which has been present our last two visits.. rough way to start your experience at a restaurant. -The menu, no issue with prices going up but using white out over the prices, hand writing new prices which is barely legible is tacky to say the least. -Following our order the food came out nearly immediately and it was clear the guacamole to our main dishes are made in advance and not done well. - To the mgmt team -3% surcharge to use a credit card is a joke, add it to your price or offer a cash/ debit discount not the other way around. On the food side: -The beans were prepared with way too much salt.. inedible was the way we would describe it.. -Mexican rice was awful. No sign of a single vegetable or herbs... Mexican rice should and can be made flavorful with ease by any chef. -The guacamole was clearly made well in advance and brown... I'm sorry, happy to pay a premium for guac at a restaurant but this product shows no effort to ensure freshness. -Main dishes , both submerged in oil and our chicken was served nearly cold... fajitas served lukewarm and lacking flavor which seems hard to do but that was our experience. - Drinks - the unsweetened ice tea was served carbonated for some odd reason from their soda machine... not drinkable sorry. Service: - servers were kind and attentive, checking in routinely for anything we may need which was deeply appreciated. After a few shots at this restaurant we both agreed there is a reason the restaurant is empty, the food , the ambiance, the overall experience for our hard earned money. TLDR for the restaurant - take pride in your food, take a fresh look at the diners experience, Mexican food should be vibrant, flavorful and delicious, this is by far the worst finished product we have ever had in NH and simply put not worth a visit unless something drastic changes.
