So, we've actually been ordering take-away from this place for a few years now, even though I'm only JUST getting around to talking about them in detail. And right up front I'll say....whilst I enjoy the gyros here just fine, they still don't seem to compare to the ones I have at Amphora in Derry. The way I figure, there's a couple contributing factors to this. First, Main Street Gyro does this weird thing to their gyros. Or, at least....weird to *me*. They insert their fries inside their gyros. I guess they figured instead of having them as a side item like most would expect, they'd just make the gyro its own main course with sides rolled into one. And look - I KINDA get it. It's just not my jam. Speaking of fries, that's the second thing that sets this place apart from its competitor in Derry. The fries, while decent, are inexplicably short. I'm not kidding. You guys ever play the game "Drawing lots"? Imagine you get a pack of fries....and the whole thing consists of "short straws". That's the best way I can describe them. Good news is they still taste good. And this could be a "me" thing but....this makes the whole meal feel like it's fit for a toddler. Idiosyncratic observations aside, however, the gyros are pretty good. Customizing your items is simple enough. For instance, I like to get my chicken gyros with Feta cheese added to them. Adds a bit of extra flavor. IYKYK. (-‿) Since I've only ever eaten take-away from here, I can't speak much to the interior decorum. That said, their parking lot location is quite tucked in. Add to that, there's a confusing situation involving a normal, two-way road just outside the parking lot; which leads to a bus stop or something, making it seem like you're not permitted to exit that way. Or....perhaps you are? In any case, when accompanying my wife to pick up our order, let's just say it was a bit like trying to find the corner of a circular room to sit in. The front entrance was surprisingly low key, perhaps intentionally so. It's like you'd have to be a local to even know about or appreciate this place. Be that as it may, we are grateful they exist. If nothing else, it serves as a reminder that we don't always have to make the slightly longer drive 4 towns over if we're not feeling that froggy. Anyway, give these folks a try if you're in the area. Wifey swears by the lamb gyros, too - so....there is that. I'm giving Main Street Gyro a humble 4 neatly wrapped chicken gyros with all the fixins inside out of 5. read more

For a quick early dinner I stopped by Main Street Gyro. At 5pm on a Saturday, it was empty (although pick-up orders streamed in). I ordered a traditional pork gyro ($12.95) and small order of Greek fries ($6.95). Note that the menu lists the price of a full size of fries but you can ask for a half or small portion. I paid at the counter, took a seat, and heard my order called up within 5 minutes. The pork gyro's pita was nice and fluffy (hate it when it's dense), fries had some Cajun-esque seasoning, and the pork was tender and juicy. The Greek fries tasted like fries, with feta cheese and a tangy white sauce. Overall, decent for a casual meal. Not looking for the zenith of gyros here, so it works as a local place. read more

I'm a Greek food fanatic! Trying Main Street gyro for the first time was a great experience . I did a pickup order , and it was ready within 20 minutes. Good price point for the amount of food they serve . I wanted to try a variety of things as I do first time trying somewhere new. I got a veggie gyro, falafel, pita, hummus , tziki , Greek salad & spanakopita Gyro was warm and delicious as was the pita . The traditional Greek salad was 10/10. The star of the show was the spanakopita. The crust was flakey and light and the filling to dough ratio was perfect . My only qualm would be that the Tziki lacked pickle and tang. The shop itself is small and quiet . Nice decor, good place to go to get some work done or a quiet bite with a friend . Overall I rate my experience 9/10. read more

This is one of my favorite places typically. My girlfriend and I had a busy night with kid sports and was pumped to pick up one of my favorites. I ordered two gyros one chicken, one lamb, both with spicy mustard, as I can't eat tzatziki. When I walked in 20 minutes later they were still working on my order, but asked me again to be sure what I ordered. I again said one chicken and one lamb gyro with spicy mustard. The worker said mustard on the side? I said no mustard on both please. When I got home and open my wrapping of sandwich I found a slathered gyro with more tzatziki sauce then I've ever seen. Unfortunately I had to throw the whole things in the trash! I go to these local places for the experience and consistency, but unfortunately this will be the last time at this local spot. The food is absolutely horrible!!!! My dogs wouldn't even eat this!! Who orders a gyro w just meat (lamb), tzatziki sauce and nothing else and get a jumbled up mess of ground lamb, tomatoes, onions and yes!!!! HAIR!!!!. I'm very upset. I just wanted a regular gyro!!!! This is a solid gyro place. Gyro is fast, street food- it is not meant to be an elegant dinner! Some folks don't seem to understand that. I have only ordered traditional, so I cannot speak to the other options but each time it has been exactly what it is supposed to be. In Greece the fries are usually in the gyro. I am not sure why this puzzles people! That is the sandwich! I agree the fries (both Greek and in the gyro) could be way crispier but the food is still enjoyable. Loukoumathes rock as well. I've tried falafel at other restaurants in Nashua and none come close to Main St Gyro. They're perfect. The feta they use on the fries and the salads is fantastic. And the trio sampler with the dips and pita is one of my favorites. read more

Being Greek myself, I feel a bit disloyal giving 3 out of 5.. but I just wasn't blown away. I have been meaning to check this place out for a few years now. Finally, I got around to it. I ordered the lamb gyro. The tzatziki sauce was super bland. The Greek dressing for my Greek salad was also extremely bland & unimpressive. (I like a good condiment, that's important to me.) Anyway.. the gyro itself was alright. My friend got the grilled veggie one.. I took a bite that was good! I would get that next time & order a kabob for protein to put in it. All in all not bad, not great. My gyro and Greek salad cost me $27.02 not including my tip. Not cheap for a Greekbstreet cuisine. I feel like I could have gotten a nice legit meal at a decent restaurant for that price. Nowadays, subs and the sort cost almost the same as a restaurant quality meal. It's crazy. Always a great meal from here. Everything is done FRESH, from scratch, and is made with care. I also think they have some of the best, most moist falafel I've ever had. The Nashua area desperately needs more places like this! They really care about the product they produce and it shows. Wicked nice couple that runs it and you can often find their son seated at one of the tables doing homework or playing on his ipad. :) Just wholesome and cozy. This was an amazing lunch spot! Immeadiatly I was impressed but how clean and we'll set up the shop was. Super friendly staff, very welcoming and the smell if the food was amazing! I ordered the classic lamb gyro. Having had homemade Greek gryos before by authentic Greek families, this was one of the most tantalizing gyros I've had. I'm very excited to come back and try everything on this menu. All types of customers here, lunch rush houses business folks from nearby shops/businesses, the girls lunch out, everyday college age student and more. This shop felt comfortable and homely in a sense that I was visiting another region, while still enjoying the comforts of home culture. Best thing of all was learning they deliver. Good size portions for the money. Only downside was that the chicken in the Greek salad was very greasy and there ended up being puddles of oil throughout. Fries were well seasoned and many had a nice crisp. Lamb and chicken gyro dinners all got high remarks and the lemon potatoes were well liked. The only other places that deliver to us is pizza, and theres really onlyyyy so much pizza someone can eat (never thought I would say that!) So, we decided to give this place a shot! I ordered too much because it all sounded delish. Lamb gyro for hubby (I'm not sure what the temp is supposed to be on this, but he said it could be a little hotter but it was very good!) This place was a shocker. I have seen it for years since I moved here but never gave it a try until last night. The Lamb Gyros were great!! Sauces were good. Not to much onion and tomato like most places. Grape leaves were good as well as the soup (maybe a bit more lemon than I am used too but still really good). Oh my gosh this lamb gyro is so good! I asked for extra Tzaziki and it was so delish. The fries inside are the crispy kind with a bit of paprika. I think they call this Chicago style? Dirty, grungy, miserable hole in the wall restaurant. They did not have hummus. The food was so bad, I had a bad taste in my mouth after having their gyros. The problem with these kind of restaurants is that they give a bad name to Greek food. Take mints with you when you visit so your mouth does not have the bad after taste. Contrast this with Skewers Grill in MA which has excellent food - same gyro but fresh, warm and tasty. No unhealthy stuff like fries in the gyro, amazing Tzaziki sauce - this one tasted like leftovers - completely tasteless. The problem is that the other "Mediterranean" place "Maza" looks upscale but in terms of taste - the food is only slightly better. Calling this the Burger King of Greek food would be an insult to Burger King - I like their burgers a lot! - atleast the food tastes good there. read more

This place is great greek. Don't look for a "dining experience," although they have adequate seating. All food is good. If you're a foodie, and like it spicy, try the chicken gyro hot and dirty. They make a Green Monster sauce composed of ground jalapeños that is the hot in hot n dirty. Love their village salad, so try 1/2 village salad w: chicken or pork and Pita. I had Small Greek salad which is placed a a clam shell box for a sandwich and I did not have my ohone to take a picture which I would love to show here but I had the equivalent of I 1/2 leaf if iceberg lettuce 1 slice of a cucumber, 1/8 of a Med tomato wedge i black Olive , a 2" square piece of feta!!!! That's it for 5.95 or 6. 95 plus tax and a tip but if I d known what was in the box I would not bother leaving the tip worst salad. Cheap place. I know things are bad but I want my moneys worth. I did not realize how much I like Greek food until I started coming here regularly. My favorite is the pork gyro. My husband likes his "dirty" with all 3 sauces. Love the fries in the gyro - french fries may everything better, right?! The staff is always helpful and friendly. I am always happy to bring home some baklava for later. My coworker and I were both very puzzled by this sammich. The lamb meat was ground meat as opposed to typical gyro meat. Also, fries shouldn't be standard on a gyro, neither of us liked this addition, some tomatoes and lettuce would be quite welcome and maybe a touch more tzatziki. So delicious! We always have to come here when we're in town. You can get pork or chicken or lamb or veggie or falafel gyros. My husband loves their rice bowl with pork. All the meat is so tender and juicy. If you manage to save room for dessert, which is hard to do with the generous servings, the Loukoumades (fried dough with nuts) is mouthwatering good.
