Pisgah Bakehouse was easily one of the best food finds of our Brevard / Pisgah Forest trip. My sister and I liked it so much that we went back the next morning, and each of us brought sourdough home. What stood out was how much care there was in the food. Everything felt balanced, thoughtful, and made with real skill. Nothing was trying too hard. It was just very good food made by people who clearly know what they're doing and care. I noticed some reviews complain about the wait. I get it, but honestly, I think that misses the point. This is not fast food, and it doesn't taste like fast food. When a place is making food with this much care, I'm fine waiting a bit. I live in Chicago and would be thrilled to have a place like this near me. Pisgah Bakehouse is casual, but the food is seriously good. It was one of those places that made the trip memorable. Thanks. read more

Yum! The pizza and sandwich's here are so good. We love this place for lunch after we go hiking. Bathrooms are very nice and well kept. The baked goods here are so yummy too! Our favorites are the cookies and the pecan thingy. (I forgot what it's called lol) read more

We came here for lunch and managed to find a parking spot. I overheard an employee say the apartment complex behind them will tow you if you park there so beware! I love, love, love that you can pick half sandwiches and half salads of everything. I got the half turkey avocado sandwich and a half Bakery salad. They were both phenomenal and I'm drooling just thinking about them. My husband got the Margherita pizza and my 7 year old got a cheese. The pizzas are good size- 13 inches. My husband demolished his and my daughter ate all but one or two pieces (which my husband and I helped finish off). They both loved their pizzas. Even though we were stuffed, we had to have a dessert so we got a slice of carrot cake. Carrot cakes can really go wrong if the icing is too sweet but this icing was perfect. I didn't feel like I was going to go into sugar shock after eating it. The employees were all really nice. The bathroom was clean. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in the Asheville/Brevard area. If you're hiking, it wasn't far at all between DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. We did waterfall hikes at DuPont starting around 8:30 am and then had lunch here before heading down the road to others at PNF. read more

Pisgah Bakehouse was a pleasant surprise. I was driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and heading to Brevard to get something to eat. Since Brevard is a small town, I wasn't expecting to find such a good bakery, but the baked goods looked delicious as soon as we walked in. In addition to the bakery items, they also have a dining room. Since it was between lunch and dinner, we were told to order at the counter, and the only things available were salads and pizza. We ordered a sausage pizza and a Caesar salad, which turned out to be the perfect-sized lunch. Both the pizza and salad were delicious. We sat in the otherwise empty dining room, eating lunch while I watched the bakers working in the back and kept eyeing all the baked goods. Before leaving, we picked up a few goodies for the road. Pisgah Bakehouse is definitely worth the stop, and I'm glad we found it. read more

So while visiting the mountains over the holiday weekend, I ended up here on Sunday and Monday morning for breakfast and it was pretty busy both days! The first day I ordered a tomato, pesto, goat cheese croissant and love it-the flavors were on point in that flakey croissant! I ordered a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwhich on an everything bagel and it was ok-I had higher expectations, the everything bagel that I had seemed to lack the "everything" flavors and that was somewhat disappointing. Yesterday morning we ended up here again as it was on our way out of town and I ended up getting a potato and leek croissant which was delish! Both days I got a chai tea to drink and they were on point! It was a good atmosphere with pretty good customer service. Keep up the great work! read more

Awesome place for a fantastic breakfast and lunch. Make sure to grab a loaf of their daily fresh bread!

A really fun bakehouse that's located right on the fringe of Brevard. If you're looking for a great place to grab a cup of coffee or even a latte, they'll have it. They bake their items fresh daily with a variety of pastries, pies and breads to choose from. With a modern mountain atmosphere and friendly service with a smile. They also have a later day operating schedule perfect for lunch or early evening meal, offering pizza, sandwiches as well as salads. If you're in Brevard, it's definitely a great place to stop, and it always smells really amazing when you walk in the front door! Parking can be a little bit tricky as there is regular lot that is somewhat small, but they do have an overflow for those busier days! Make sure to check it out if you're in town or nearby. Guten Appetit! read more

Very good selection of pastries and breads made with organic ingredients. We especially love their focaccia type breads and pesto cheese bagels. It gets very crowded but they have inside and outside eating areas. read more

The baked muffins and scones looked scrumptious here but I can't review them as we didn't have any. We did have some very good breakfast sandwiches with natural sausage egg and cheddar on a nice whole grain bread. I can't say the same for the hippie dippie lackadaisical service there. We had ordered 2 of the same sandwiches but only 1 came. It took several requests and 25 minutes to get the next one. I will go back but probably only for takeout bakery items when we next have guests. read more

Friendly service! Great food and coffee. We both had a loaded lox bagel- delicious! Coffee was excellent. Place is really cute. Convenient, quick stop on our way out of Brevard. read more

Everything was fantastic! Excellent service! Super fresh ingredients and flavors. Definitely adding it to our list of places to go when we are in the area. read more

Unfortunately this place tends to be a miss for me. My experience with service is consistently that they are unfriendly. When you pay $6 for a small pastry, it feels a little bad when they don't say "thank you" or "how can I help you" or "what would you like" ... more than once I've been here and had the experience that I'm bothering the employee just by being there. Bought a cardamom bun today and while I love cardamom this was still an overly strong flavor. Lovely texture, though. I had a specialty croissant a while back when I was in the area and left with it. It was uncooked in the middle so I called to let them know (thinking they would want to pull the remaining ones). Whoever I spoke with was appropriately apologetic and told me next time I was there to tell the clerk that so and so wanted me to have a replacement on the house. A few months later I was in the area again and was met with such hostility and skepticism when I mentioned the "freebie" that I wished I'd never bothered. As for the bakes? Everything really does look good. The lunch menu looks great although I've never had anything. The coffee is nice and strong. Prices are high, but that's everywhere. read more

This place is a must stop while in Brevard. Perfect for a morning bite or a post hike sandwich. I ordered the veggie melt and the person serving me was so helpful with suggesting ingredients to add. I chose to include arugula and red onion! The place has that local, natural ingredient smell and feel to the place. Bread is phenomenal, food is even better! Highly recommend! read more

This place bakes amazing bread! We've gotten French baguettes several times to have with some lunch meat, cheese and wine at the end of a hike in the Pisgah National Forest. We recently tried the 9 grain French bâtard and it was unbelievably tasty, especially toasted. We finally ate there for lunch. We had butternut squash soap as a starter (very good) and then split a chicken pesto pizza (more than enough for two with the soups as a starter). The pizza crust was exactly the way it should be: baked to perfection with just the right amount of air pockets. The chicken was tender and tasty. The basil was fresh and light. And the combination of mozzarella and gorgonzola cheeses took the pizza to the next level. It's counter service: the ordering line was well organized and moved fast. Food was brought to our table in a reasonable time. We ate outside at one of the patio dining tables, which was very pleasant. We'll definitely be back during future trips to Brevard, occasionally for the food, but anytime we are in the area for more of their amazing bread. read more

I will typically always give a restaurant a second chance. This time I gave a third chance and the experience has been consistently bad. Their pastries LOOK delicious but are always a disappointment - typically dry. Service is abysmal and takes 45+ minutes to get food. Sandwiches have been ok but definitely not worth the wait. read more

I've eaten here several times and the food has always been good. The pizza is just the right size to split with someone and have a salad. I've also had several sandwiches and the are delicious. The baked goods and the bread are always delicious. Parking is an issue but I won't knock them off for that. read more

Didn't notice that my order got mixed up before I left (and was 4 hours away), but what I did get was tasty and they were super responsive and nice about it. I'd definitely go back if I end up in Brevard again! read more

Pisgah Bakehouse was amazing. We had the Wild Mushroom pizza and it was excellent. The servers were friendly and happy to answer our questions, and pizza came out quickly. We'll definitely be back on our next visit. read more

IMPRESSIVE. We've been to this bakery/pizza shop/cafe twice now. After our first visit for bakery treats a month or so ago, I'm so glad we went back for a late lunch of pizza after a recent hike nearby. We're hooked! There's a decent amount of parking around the place and in a neighboring lot. The cafe has lots of seating indoors with an additional welcoming outdoor covered patio. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the selection of baked goods in the case and breads behind the counter is a feast for the eyes. I could easily go to town buying one of everything to take home, but I'd rather bring more friends for return visits! There's a nice coffee offering with espresso drinks. We went veggie on pizza day with family and devoured veggie pesto and butternut squash pizzas- perfect crust and generous, fresh toppings. This Bakehouse is working hard to produce a stellar assortment of beautiful pastries, pizza and so much more. As I commented earlier, so IMPRESSIVE. This will be a regular stop whenever we're in the area. read more

Slow and mildly gracious service (well, somewhat). The mediocre culinary experience was partly my fault--after ordering the lox & bagel, I was told that they had run out of bagels (we were there during lunch time). When a sourdough & lox concoction was suggested, I should have said no. My partner received a standard cold sandwich that was mediocre and overpriced. I received an overpriced sourdough & lox concoction. read more

I won't lie the Ham and Gruyère Croissant was looking back at me so I grabbed it and had them heat it up. Y'all !! So light and flaky and buttery. Sinfully delicious!! Chrissy checked us out and she was the sweetest. This is NOT fast food, it's amazing food. Plenty of outside seating with heaters . Some inside seating. I'm definitely going back !! 10/10 read more

Love PB! Never disappoints! Great coffee, tea, food, and baked goods, terrific counter folk. Nice space inside and great patio.

A welcome addition to Brevard! It's really good- almost feels random that it's here not in Asheville..! Price is slightly high, but I didn't mind my. I went with 9 hungry students and everything we ordered was delicious, and we'll definitely visit again. Service was good. Good came out in 25min. It's a busy place and parking is somewhat limited. Pizza was surprisingly good, too (really nice dough, good quality cheese). Lox bagel (11) was delicious. Roast beef melt looked good, although I didn't try it. Our favorite was caprese sandwich and Margherita pizza. Cardamom bun was also delicious (strong cardamom scenes+ sugared croissant dough) Nice space/ good outdoor seating read more

What a great spot! Lots of delicious choices plus coffee and baked goods. We ordered sandwiches including one hot sandwich and we all got amazing cardamom buns. Everything was delicious. This is a place I would like to go to again to try more items! read more

Super yummy! We went for lunch and it was fantastic. We had heard good things, but the food and service beat our expectations. Wild mushroom pizza was outstanding, salads looked fabulous (wish I had ordered one) and the sweets are killer! Iced tea was so-so (weak), but that's the only thing I can point to for improvement. bad service. bad attitudes. very expensive and long wait for mid food. just wouldn't recommend for dinner.

Food is good but highly overpriced (NY city prices). It also takes half a year to get your meal even when the restaurant is fairly quiet. The fresh baked bread is delicious and I highly recommend but it's not a place for someone in a hurry or someone looking to get a good deal. I will say the bacon and sausage were absolutely divine and would come back just for those two things and I will never leave without a loaf of sourdough. read more

Bagel sandwich was good. We got 6 different pastries and didn't finish any of them. They really had no flavor. Disappointed!
