One of my favorite things about visiting a Hendersonville is coming to eat an Alykat sub. I've never found anything close. When you go, don't let the ambiance deter you. It looks like my redneck grandma decorated. But the magic is in the house recipes. Don't event look at the menu... you want THE ALYKAT SUB. Trust me! The simple ingredients are spiced with house seasoning that is sooo good!

Casual sandwich shop with tasty food and friendly service make Alykat a good open for lunch. The waitstaff went out their way to make sure drinks were kept full and all meals were to our satisfaction. The Rueben sandwich was good, but the pastrami was deli sliced thin making the texture a bit different. The flavors were good, but the bread was toasted and a bit too crunchy. The Chicken salad sandwich was super delicious. And, the Alykat sub was fantastic. All in all a good option!

A Warning: about half of the staff are not wearing masks or gloves, including the kitchen. If your older, perhaps avoid this shop for now.

Three Chopt is a…read moredowntown Hendersonville sandwich shop that my family and I greatly enjoyed on our most recent visit. It must be a popular spot for the area in general, because we crammed into the last table available, and the waitresses were running around like crazy trying to help everyone. The wife of the husband and wife pairing that own this place was the one who helped us, and she could not be nicer, though just overwhelmed with customers on this particular day. In the kitchen, the husband was cooking up a storm, making sandwiches as fast as he could. The family looks like a melting pot of people from all over, with the central tree in the restaurant bearing arrow signs of their various origins. Cincinnati, St. Croix, and Mexico city are represented. In general, the restaurant has a great feel. I order one of their versions of a reuben, they had a few different takes, this one seems the most like a classic. It was delicious, great decision. Good amount of meat, kraut, tasty dressing, nicely buttered and grilled rye. I opted for the slight upcharge and got fries with my sandwich, they were nicely crisp on the outside and very tasty. Because of how busy they are it was difficult to get a drink refill on this hot day, but I helped myself to one, and that was fine. I have no way of knowing currently the state of affairs at this business, because downtown Hendersonville saw a large amount of flooding. I hope that they escaped great peril, or if they had damage, are able to recover and re-open quickly as the area digs itself out. #WNCStrong

Small and definitely more grab-and-go than linger-and-lounge, but packed with fresh bagels, friendly faces, and prices that make you do a double take in the best way. The wall of bagels behind the counter was a beautiful sight, with everything from classic plain and sesame to everything and cinnamon raisin. The bagels tasted fresh, service was fast, and everyone was genuinely welcoming. No fuss, no frills, just delicious bagels done right at a great price. Affordable, fresh, and dangerously convenient to where we were staying. We'd happily make this a regular stop if we lived closer!

I'm not sure the restaurant could help much with that though. Our waitress was super fast, attentive, and friendly. We had a TON of questions about the menu, and she was patient and friendly while answering them. Our food came out impressively fast and she made sure we had drinks filled. We ordered the cheesy bacon grit balls, and my fiance was a little nervous since he's not a fan of grits. They were absolutely fantastic, and we both liked them! Them! They had a rich cheesy flavor with very slight hint of bacon. They were smooth and creamy and deep fried to perfection. The glaze on top was a great touch as well to cut some of the richness. David ordered the Flat Rock Panino, and he was really pleased with the flavors. For me personally, I thought the pizza shell they used to form the sandwich was pretty hard, almost cracker-like. Not seem to mind though. The chips that came with it were unimpressive and not super crisp. We were really disappointed because we wanted to try their signature Burger, but it was not available that night. I ordered their special of the brisket ends. They were fantastic. The sauce was great, and they truly melted in my mouth. They were so tender! I thought the onion straws were great as well. I was a little disappointed with the corn because it wasn't what I was expecting. I'm not a huge fan of peppers, and that was the predominant flavor since it had red and green peppers mixed in it. The cornbread was good, but it was much closer to a cake texture. Overall, I think we would definitely go back! It was a fun atmosphere with friendly people and food that left us smiling and full.
